  1. Good low kicks - heard a few other mentions of that tooā¤ļø. Can we teach old dogs new tricks? It did look like that in the first few games of 2024 then generally reverted to "kick it long and high to a pack". He does need to either commit 100% or retire now. (In fairness he may have committed already but not be back in town just yet.)
  2. Tassie Suns - 18 hours a day in summer: 6 in winter 🄶 But back to the new jumper - a red ā€œlogoā€ on a red background? Did they actually pay somebody to do that?
  3. Thanks - interesting though who, in Noosa, is in full contact training with him. For me he needs to regain supporters’ trust and display his passion for the club on the field before some of us will be able to love him as we did. So it is really over to CP5 and I suspect he will get there.
  4. From the photo background it looks like a rebuild is underway 😮
  5. One of the things I have been hoping for forever - run and spread. Would that allow us more late draft space? Not sure how it all works these days. Mods - can we please have the facepalm emoji back, please.
  6. I had entirely forgotten about Spargo. IF FIT I just wonder where he will fit in and who are his positional rivals.
  7. In this first season whenever he came on to the ground he seemed to bring a huge amount of energy - once he builds a tank he could be an absolute ripper.
  8. JVR looked quite lackadaisical in that clip - very slow. Needs to quicken up a lot. šŸ™„šŸ¤—
  9. Really missing the facepalm emoji
  10. Only Casey watchers could have any idea if he would have been even in consideration for the Max replacement. I suspect he wasn't seeing that he wasn't selected. Hopefully he will be fit and driven to show us all that he wasn't a wasted list space - over to you, Tom
  11. Interesting set of data for someone who seems to get regularly talked down. He did show what he could do offensively in the 2021 but maybe his role has changed and he is being given different challenges. I have faith where others don’t.
  12. DubDee - I agree that he should keep fighting, however I cannot see him as a Nev Jetta type. I wish him well.
  13. The word tragic is used far too easily especially from footy commentators - ā€œtragic that he missed that goal / mark / hand passā€, or ā€œtragic the he missed out on a big gameā€ etc, but Angus’ forced retirement in such circumstances is about the zenith of football tragedies. Hey well, keep well Gus and thanks from us all for the wonderful memories.
  14. Thanks Ben for your great contribution to our premiership šŸ†. You pushed through with a battered body, which then totally failed you the past 2 years. Enjoy your well earned retirement.
  15. OMG the poor bugger through no fault of his own (except perhaps courage) broke his clavicle - whilst the fracture itself heals in 6-8 weeks, there is naturally some reticence to take an impact for much longer. Regression like many on our list is a bit way over the top. Lets judge him on how he performs in 2025, after a full pre season.
  16. The autocensor has gone right over the woke top - the word presumably censored, I will try a55, has been used to describe a donkey for thousands of years, including multiple mentions in biblical texts. According to a google search over 60 references to the beast. The woke are certainly making donkeys of themselves. I couldn't used the common abbreviation of Richard on several occasions even though it was capitalised and is widely used. Making themselves Richards over this one too. What next? Demon may be taken as satanic so maybe eventually we won't be able to use that either?
  17. Thanks D’land for that excellent and optimistic summary. One thing I did wonder about was the current and future status of Joel Smith. IMO regardless of his physical state, would he ever be able to regain the trust and confidence of his colleagues in the playing group, the off field staff and the supporter base? And what is the current situation regarding his suspension and investigation? Thanks
  18. "and the Downlow medalist for 2025 is ----- joint winners Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver" šŸ¤” Almost as long as a life sentence šŸ™„
  19. Tragically, both our great Irish recruits met very premature deaths 😪 .
  20. Agree, Moonshadow. Repaying for dad’s great service is absolutely NO reason to recruit anyone. F/S must be on merit. I seem to remember a ?Molloy in the 80s or early 90s who was a f/s and failed to deliver at all. Is that re-signed not resigned?
  21. In some of the early rounds of 2024 it did look as if mids were delivering lower into the forward line (Windsor particularly), but this just stopped and reverted to norm. Maybe a new midfield coach would help?
  22. Agree entirely that we shouldn’t use JVR as a ruckman (except for deep forward contests where the main ruck can drop a kick behind the play) but I don’t agree that his ruck work was barely passable; the fact that it was quite decent unfortunately made his a better choice for ruck back up.
  23. Surely if the AFL mandate a retirement eg Gus, then there must be some generous relief of salary cap, even if the club still needs to pay out the full salary. The salary cap is "artificial", and invention of the governing body, so mandated retirements retaining cap payments just makes no sense. I have zero doubt that had Buddy Franklin had a career ending injury in the first year of his mega deal at $ydney they would have tweaked the rules.
  24. And you say this on what authority?
