Reasons for our Inaccuracy?
… or just don’t concentrate enough, mentally soft under game pressure?? Surely nobody making TAC (or whatever it is now called) is unable to kick, let alone their ‘elite’ who get AFL listed. Just care more, guys!

re Fritta - Melksham can take his place. OMG many of us could replace him on current form (tongue in cheek)

PREGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
He has been and still is way ahead of Weed. Yes, out of confidence and out of support. Do the oppositions even bother about Fritta these days?

Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
He is a premiership second ruck who was very much involved with BANG BANG BANG Sure. Straight swap for Philthorpe. Why wait for seasons’ end. This week will be do.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
But surely watching a player closely as a junior one can sense aggression - these are very experience recruiters, and amongst the best, and should have a sense of timidity vs assertiveness. Blind Freddie could have seen that at least on AFL applied form in Shachse and probably Fullarton.

I don’t fully understand Whelo Ratings, but Fritta was negative each quarter. How long can the match committee allow him to be an anchor going forward? Brown couldn’t do less, though of course a very different build.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Have we ever had mentors / off books specialist coaches ? Sounds a great idea - and I am sure someone at the club has thought of it. Hell, the current acting president had great forward craft, even though not a KPF. Can’t he have a quiet word with these guys??

CLARRY IS NOT A TAGGER
Probably a one off experiment IMO. Wouldn’t expect him to tag very often. Goodwin often criticised for being too inflexible - he flexed this week and is pilloried.

4th Quarter blues
Yes final quarter fadeouts are a massive issue and have cost us several games. But our profligate wasting of shots at goal earlier in games leave us vulnerable, and opposition know this and that they can run away from us. If we got 5-6 goals ahead by ¾ then the opposition would maybe feel less optimistic. Of course we will never know because we continue to be pathetic at finishing, before we are exhausted.

PODCAST: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
Another sadly repeatable game script. 1/ More shots at goal over three quarters but shocking conversion rate especially set shots. Is there anything a coaching panel could possibly offer to improve this? Just so disheartening for fans and supporters to watch these teasers every week. Do the players feel the disappointment that us rusted on fans feel? 2/ Shocking umpiring when we were still in the game Does the club ever complain? 3/ Final quarter fade-outs Is it poor conditioning or maybe mental brittleness Do they all need to see a shrink? The fans do

Good points re the fringe players NB Woey and Laurie. Neither seem up to it. Did you forget Kylan Brown? 10 tackles for Casey yesterday. Where does he play at Casey? Would he be worth a try at half forward where tackling pressure is desperately needed?

PREGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
Melksham must come back if fit, and Frisch cannot be selected on today's "form". Petty in for Jefferson, leaving Turner to return to the F50. Probably play Kolt and return Sharp to sub.

My 3 word player analysis V Hawthorn
Great observation - has long arms like BD, though XL is a better kick and one cannot even try to compare athleticism from those days.

Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
- PREGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
binman. IF we are relying on Fritter to be a defensive anything we are in deep deep trouble. (Would just love to be proven wrong).- Media Madness
I used to watch footy shows several nights a week and on weekends. Now I watch matches that interest me, usually with the sound very low or off, and no prematch, half time, post match. So much sensationalism, goofy boy jokes and trivia. re Bruhn - IF there is a suppression order in place, that should surely be public knowledge. IF charges have been laid, wouldn't that also be public knowledge, even though details would not be able to be discussed?- Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
Comparisons with Gawn/Grundy don't account for the fact that Gawn / Jackson did work and indeed won a flag. Grundy could not function as a forward: Jackson can.- PREGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
One of my pet hates is the whole concept go the VFL, in its present form, as a "support / development competition" for the AFL. As you point out, the multiple byes stifle player development. If they cannot somehow synchronise the AFL fixture with the VFL, which at present with an odd number of teams, then the whole structure of VFL needs to be changed. If that requires ending alignments of some but not all VFL clubs with AFL, then maybe the 10 Victorian based AFL clubs need to set up their own "seconds" competition. I am not sure but I suspect that the WAFL and SANFL where Crows, Power, WCE and Freo players develop don't have all these ridiculous byes, but play every week. Why should the VFL have to carry NSW and QLD teams? WA and SA don't get carried. NSW and QLD should set up their own "seconds" competition - sure they will complain that there isn't the number of clubs of sufficient quality to develop their players - well, tough. - PREGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
