  1. Agree Mickey. We are bemoaning the terrible turnovers yesterday, so why give up the best disposer of the ball we have and is sorely missed down back as a result.
  2. In the first 5 minutes we thought their not on and an essendon rerun was on the cards
  3. Wrong: The physics go like this. Force equals Mass times Acceleration, or..... F + M * A...... Which equates to : Force = Jack Watts (M) times Roos/McCarthy/Goodwin/Jackson (A) All he needed was decent development and coaching - like all others young talent, and now he has it. Go Jack.
  4. Matthew lloyd called it last night on footy classified. Backline skills in disoisal are bad. My word would be appalling and must ge a priority over off season. Sadly the macdonalds and frost arent fixable, but how to find alternatives us the issue,. Rest of team coming along nicely but I fear this willnhold us back.
  5. I knew someone would say this. No difference with conditions for Dawes. Ask any magpie fan who used to watch. Same issue there.
  6. Good Post. trying things in the last 1/4 beyond his capability is a concern and makes me more nervous than when his brother has the ball. Worth preserving but for how long?
  7. Dawes: flat hands, can't mark, not the future
  8. Good Post. Its about club success over here as he has stated etc. I am more rapt now with jack's re-signing this week and the team the recruiters have built. Give me a strong midfield any day. Hogan can be replaced and won't win us the flag. That's the mid fields job. This Sunday could be our watershed game!
  9. If you read Viney's comment re: finals, he was asked the question and why wouldn't he say that it was an expectation they were in the mix. If he didn't have that mindset this time in the season why do we all care in that case. Viney didn't initiate the issue the press asked him and that was the headline. Now watch the media run with that hare until the next sucker provides them with a new headline. Headlines equals sales of papers - its that simple.
  10. Good post fr_ap. From the go the younger players, including Jack V looked slow and weren't hard chasing even in the 2nd quarter. We felt they were recovering from last 2 weeks. Tyson continued to show his class, but Pedersens indecisiveness killed us on some opportunities. Looking forward to a few sensible ins fro next week such as Oliver and Brayshaw both back. Petracca showed he has a football brain and will be better. Gawn can't do it all every week and yesterday was one of those games.
  11. Congrats to Dee-Luded. One of the better pieces of pop psychology I've seen in recent times in response to my views. Hits all the key jargon without thinking about the issue itself. Good effort. yes, I did think about this but really value your opinion also. I'd like to be ashamed but my self esteem is just too high I guess.
  12. This is a disgraceful thread/idea. The current players are innocent and this is mean- spirited at the least. What goes around comes around. Draft fixing by us a few years ago? Oh wait- that didn't happen did it? Chris Connolly said so didn't he? I will be ashamed to be part of a demon crowd tomorrow that participated is this process, not to mention the example so-called adults are setting to younger fans in the crowd.
  13. This is why I won't be watching Footy Classified this year ( and I sincerely hope the great Garry Lyon can come through his circumstances) Barrett on Footy Classified ? You must be joking!
  14. I like it! We play only one out of the eight finalists from this year twice - the hawks. Thus if we are ever to find out if we are getting ahead of the competition for spots 5 to 8 on the ladder next season will tell us. This also gives us lots of chances to have ' 8 oint' games against the middle level teams - if we can take those chances. Importantly, the west coast and Dockers games are at their home ground, as is Sydney which saves our Victorian games for weaker teams in Victoria when we probably might go down to those 3 at the G anyway. E.g. first up chance against western Sydney irrelevancies (sorry - giants) will be a great start. Very optimistic!!!!!!
  15. What I like about Garland is his ability to play tall. Most games he takes well more pack marks down the flanks compared to Howe's Mark of the Century nomination fly. really pleased he's staying.
  16. Agree DD. He was a bad decision maker in traffic with us, and he still is at the hawks. Due diligence is a wonderful thing not well handled by the hawks in this case IMO.
  17. His quote when interviewed after the Geelong game about the flak he was copping from Selwood sums it up for me. " It didn't worry me - I love that sort of sh*t".
  18. Yesterday clinched it for mine. Hogan asserted himself when needed and did the extraordinary, kicked an after the siren goal. Etc.. The way Lynch and Lyon have sensibly evaluated him is a good thing too as both summarised just how well he has done in difficult circumstances, talking the best defender every week.
  19. Great post Lucifer. Its about time someone said this clearly, and you have nailed the bottom line on this topic = and apologies if its done before by others.. Roos has coached a measly 30 games or so and I now go to games thinking we are always a chance. Hats off to recruiters and rest of the team he has built around him. Matthew Lloyds comments last week about running out of time were laughable. He needs to stick to being an apologist for the bombers - something he excels at.
  20. Agree about resting Brayshaw - but only to keep him fresh for Queens Birthday.
  21. Can someone tell me who Tom McDonald played on?. Was it Tom Boyd and why he was benched. Was this another scalp for Tom?
  22. As a ray of hope. On absolute good authority, Abletts shoulder is still not right and has had two hydro dilations so far to loosen it up but still doubtful - as of last week.
  23. Good Point WB. Roos stated first year aim was to stop the bleeding in defence which he succeeded in doing. Solid recruiting and further development will see the next steps re: improved attack. He had us placed in the lead at 3/4 time in 9 games last year. Further work will see those opportunities converted.
  24. Thanks whispering Jack for the run down. I read Joe boys 3 word analysis - which is compulsory for me - first and thought another loss for sure. Then seeing the scores confused me no end.
