  1. A 3rd position finish is now real possibility for the Dees, IF they get up tomorrow.
  2. We're flying up and back same day (with return flight to Melb. via Sydney first!), but booked GA on the Hill to at least save some money rather than seats never having been to the ground before, thinking we might be the only demon members there standing. At least there might be some company for us. Not sure what vocal support GWS get there?
  3. Yes and he looked fine
  4. Got here just as jetta being assessed. Hard to tell but he walked back without assistace. Watts worked with defensive group on hanball and short kick drills. Brayshaw looked solid. Garland ran laps solidly Nathan jones ran beautifully all session and looked really sharp on close in drills. Didnt kick, but then noone else was except jesse. All handballing by everyone. Viney not out there. Bugg fully involved. I may have missed him but couldn't find max out there. Really windy but skills still looked good. Oscar and tom played on each other for goals kiciin/defending drills. It looked like they were having fun, music playing etc. Just a really good vibe if you like. Goodwin very public in control over all.
  5. Yes but opens up now a real top 4 chance for mfc. Bring on canberra. Thanks tiges.
  6. Clayton oliver sends his regards.
  7. Not having seen any of the game, can somone advise the style that seemed to put the scoring in lock down for quite a few minutes ?. What went on there?.
  8. Betting suspended,. Does that mean we're home. I cant get any feed.
  9. The team will be up today or tomorrow and have a scheduled closed session tomorrow at the TIO ground.
  10. I went to Adelaide this year and have seen 3 wins (and nearly a 4th ) at Etihad. Plus last year against Port. All seemed impossible untilrecently. Anything is possible with this group and coach
  11. I was wrong. The Age this morning has NOTHING on the issue. Move on everyone. Clarry quite rightly apologised in a 'non- apolgy ' manner . "I didn't threaten him, did I?" he said looking sideways to his advisor. Brilliant repartee. Good on him. Another 30 possies this week coming up. Well managed by MFC media department.
  12. Missed the first 1/2 of seven news tonight so presumably Clarry was a lead story...BUT The main AFL news at the back had serious time on the club, and importantly, this lead angle was about this is a tough month that will decide are we Top 4., from Mark Stevens. Not - will we make the 8 ? Why is this important.? Just thought this was interesting , but more fodder for self belief on what's possible and the image of a club going somewhere. The payoff is the reinforcement of the concept now the Demons are a " destination " club..
  13. You must be joking. The club has done 2 things right - again.. 1. Got it off the back page in 24 hours - you won't read about it after a small article tomorrow reporting the apology - PR Rule No.1 . Any other action would give the story legs. 2. Then - they wheeled out the best team member to handle todays' presser - Jordan Lewis, who put it all in context, and again hammered the " culture" issue as laughable in a contemptible manner. And why was he the best you asked? - because no-one doubts a 4 time premiership player on what successful culture looks like. Great media management today, we won the 4 points and Clarry will live to fight another day in Darwin and get 3 Brownlow votes next week, and conversely to what the Blues banner said about us........ They can book THEIR September trip to Noosa instead of me. I'll have commitments at the ' G ' .
  14. Agree. I've done the Darwin flight a few times. Its just too long and hard work and I'm only 178cm.. Then there's the flight home. Save Jack for the run home and finals. I'd even consider resting Max in the VFL for the week for the same reason.
  15. Just watched Goodwin's press conference where he was asked about the culture issue. The next 2 1/2 minutes are worth bottling and a must view. It was as if he just wanted the question and his opportunity to then theorise about what makes a good cultutre and what he and the club are doing about it. Coach of the year material and we're lucky to have him. Its as if he was sending the players the message, but just via the presser. And how in tune the leadership group is with him. Well done Simon.
  16. Not my favourite place in the world Jasper by any chance? I watched last years GF there in a packed house.
  17. Report much appreciated D&77 I was hugely impressed by Smith's JLT game against Carlton and seeing him up close on the fence thought we have a real player here. I reckon Goodwin thinks also and will be worth going tomorrow just to see his progress .
  18. Not just Roos. All on SEN Crunch Time, including David King, said it means nothing, 4 games in 18 days, swans 4 games in 22 days, can't ignore past month, best 6 out injured, great Goodwin coaching around no ruckman. This was also reflected by those who know elsewhere. The rest are just content-chasers like Sam McClure etc. In this environment, relevancy and publicity is everything - except T. Bugg issue of course - but still in that case this issue enabled Captain Nathan Jones to come out with a class act media interview which made all news services and the Age that day. And illustrated the strength of the leadership group. as well All good.
  19. Clayton Oliver has the perfect one line comeback.... Schofield dropped this week by Methtoast. Hilarious full stop to this issue. Go Dees!
  20. if "...covered to death..." is the measure for this website then by definition it should be empty. My thoughts were specifically on the team yesterday making more critical errors but still wining by a mile. Is this common? Sheeesh!!!
  21. Looking at the stats from yesterday, and after leaving Etihad seeing but not believing... Top 5 clangers were: 1.Oliver 5 2. McDonald - Tom 5 3. Viney 4 4.Lewis 3 5. Tyson 3 All the above are locks each and every week IMO. Oh, and McDonald - Oscar - ZERO. All the above midfielders were fantastic inside yesterday as they usually are. Message to JoeBoy - start thinking about some of your 3 - worders before irrelevancy sets in mate. Let's get off the turnover issue - nothing ventured nothing gained. Its just a sign of playing bravely IMO , and sometimes that sort of plah doesn't come off. The Dees had 7 more critical errors than the Dogs, but won by 10 goals. How does that work?
  22. Neale Daniher 6 Simon Goodwin number at the Crows - 36 , or 6 squared Holds the record for 6th highest games for the crows In his career he marked the Ball Inside 50, 104 times - the winning score yesterday........
  23. Are you kidding. We've made it our fortress this year (should've beaten Geelong - won the other 2) We got GA tickets for 25 each and will sit behind the goals on the top level. If you get there early you can get front row . Not bad views. Did it for Essendon with nearly a full house and worked OK.
