  1. Its a fair point but i reckon the thing you can't judge from the video, one way or another (even if you have some sort of combat experience), is how much force went from the elbow to the jaw. What i do know is the jaw can be a 'sweet spot' and I reckon we trust the player (who has been harder than a cats head) and the ump who was close, not running and not watching in slow mo. Everyone else is guessing hiding behind keyboards.
  2. The umpire had no doubt, is independent, he was right there, perfect view and a truck load of evidence, I don't get why that isn't the overwhelming factor. Least subjective opinion going around.
  3. So you are calling him and our medical staff liars as well? The ump was 2 m away looking right at it, he didn't think it was staging. Why are you the bloody expert? This is the most stupid decision by the tribunal, you can now argue my intent was to hit him a little bit. There is a defence for hitting someone in the head all over again...FMD
  4. Was starting to panic, has been a big year between new babies and other family events, every paycheck has been well and truly spoken for, but finally able to sign up the family - that's another 6.... phew...
  5. The lid is in effin orbit, me running around like a crazy man in the streets of Dakar dancing very badly but so so happy
  6. Thank you, I hope the club is doing the right thing as well, I too think Gus has been unlucky more than anything but the cumulative effects are scary.
  7. could you post a link, i'd like to read please, cheers
  8. This guy is football Shakespere, what a bloody good even handed review, am gobsmacked, pretty fair analysis too.
  9. It is a dodgy argument saying There is a synergy to Hogan, Gawn, Hunt, Jones, Oliver, Petracca, Tyson, Viney, Watts, Tmac and others, they all bring something slightly different, and they are better as a group. What the coaching group has done well, is making them see that they need each other for collective success, while very sure of themselves, none seem to think they are doing it all off their own boot, and i think this will make them harder to poach (short of really silly money). I base this on the goal assist sharing (We are best in league for this, I can only assume that internal metrics value the assist as highly as goal), in media interviews by the players, and the effort they go to reinforce each other on the field. Betting he stays.
  10. Can someone please point to the game (round&year) / chance he has been given (now fully fit) where this has been demonstrated. I keep hearing this but am struggling to recall where the EVIDENCE for this is. If it is there, I will take heed, but as far as I understand he has not had the AFL game (and I think he should get 2/3 games) for a proper call to be made.
  11. I would put money on the fact that we have had more smothers in 2017 than 2007-2014
  12. Just a thought but Trengove could do well in that he is an inside player and marks the ball well, with our better disposal and link play he might have a place at Subi. I am really concerned about the areial battle.
  13. If this were true???
  14. Harder yet silkier, 21 yo single malt for mine
  15. I am about to fly from Rome to Dakar, Senegal... too bloody excited to go to the airport, Loving this game, not totally in control of emotions or responses. Bloody love the dees
  16. It's a forum so am cool that I might have got intent wrong, somehow I reckon he's on a tight leash *Goodwin's, don't think it is totally unscripted
  17. I for one don't mind oppo for a bit of banter welcome!
  18. Totally disagree This week and last week has changed my mind about him. I would sooner drop Vince who I adore than Bugg at the moment. You would drop someone who plays with so much effort!!! Glad your not the coach. If he was a spud then fine big mouth gone but it would be like dropping Aker when he was being good (notvthat bugg is in that class yet).
  19. The best writer of football and sport of his generation. The pathos the man evokes has always reinforced my love of the game. His humanity will be missed especially in the vacuous noise of current commentators and writers injecting themselves into contemporary stories about the game we love. Feeling sad and more than a little older that he is retiring.
  20. Fair enough, been mulling it over and i"m there too, am endeavoring to find an alternative, gender distinctions for soft are no longer appropriate it just was a good soundbite
  21. She reminds me of my grandmother, who had a huge football IQ and taught my dad to play football - not grand dad as you might expect.
  22. Ktip is the best example of looks like Tarzan plays like Jane (I really hope there are no awesome Janes in the AFLW, can I even use this expression anymore???) Spencer on the other hand ... well he would rip out another players' heart and eat it if told to do so he is fierce. While he is improving slowly he is improving, I reckon there would be no benefit in a swap. Honestly it would be like the Hawks taking Vickery.
  23. Col got three years because the FD saw something in him, the same FD we are all gushing over for the development of our new players. I reckon it says more about the posters than Judys' ability. I for one would like to have seen him play instead of Oscar for a few games this year if he had been available.
  24. I was slow to like this fella, didn't bag him, but was wondering, not anymore.
