I'm backing Gawn to win the ruck duel, he's a competitive beast.

I was really pleased when I saw Garland playing - I had this warm glow that he was being given a real chance (I was hoping he wasn't cooked) this is proof they deserve their pay - not to many golden sunsets.

Lets hope Mona kicks 6, but I think she needs to join Cloke at the Dogs TBH.

Daisy is a ripper, had a moment reading about Hassa Mann texting her. Geez i love my club

Freshly dead, unless they are a chief, then there is a whole new process

I always sign up, and even if we lose 1st up I will still buy a membership (probably after a win) but want to make a point about winning over the Saints. Preseason hype aside, and I loved the Carlton game, I want the club and players to see a bump in numbers after we win during the season. I am also probably the only bloke going around who buys a membership for his ex and his new missus at the same time. Also one of the few upsides to having four kids is the membership bump, don't bother with signing the dog up.

Toughest midfield in the AFL - David King

Hate this article_Kiss of Death_STFU walk quietly and carry a big stick please. -
I for one would like to see Garland get another chance, not a lot of chances, but at least one to have a good crack at playing in this side. I feel that we have given games to new backs, which we had to do, but the new guys do not own these positions either and that positions can now be earned on merit all over the ground.

MATCH REPORT - THE LID IS BACK - LET'S KEEP IT ON
DEE fence replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thanks for the match report - Loved this game, this was the game I wanted/expected last time we played Carlton. Some thoughts on players not mentioned. I love VDB's attitude, but today was the 1st time I really thought his skills might stop him being best 22. Hunt is just incredible, his 1%ers are as good as his running. He reminds me of Flash with his burst of speed and defensive efforts. The thing that has the lid off for me though are the smothers. I think we had more in a pre season game than we did in a season a few years ago. I know Carlton was a step off, being their first game and all, but this to me demonstrates the intensity required than any other stat. -
I enjoyed this. No Dwwwayne Russell

I hope someone smart invents an app that can combine your favourite radio station with the vision. -
For the internationals - the Fox overseas subscription works fine ($149 euro), which while not small beer and is more than last year, I can live with. It also offers all the Fox Footy shows, some of which I like to watch. I also like that I don't have to buy any other cable package. But this was a lesson to check the T&C carefully and I thank the original poster for drawing attention to it.

I went through it last night and it seems the international version is the premium foxtrot bundle-no lowfi I'd be curious to know what price you were pitched they were saying 149 euro for year to me and was wondering if I use a US ip would I get it cheaper, ie dollars and not euro???
-
This is very annoying, thanks for the heads up i will check carefully before buying my overseas subscription. And has been said before if the service is BS, I'll get all assange on their derrier (have been buying for last 5 years)

Fitzpatrick was rowing for Yarra Yarra, (when I used to hang out at the club) and was a good bloke, lots of tall poppy comments here I reckon. And I've never forgotten those almighty taps from the ruck, forward to the edge of the square during the Grand Finals he played in, went alright. Good luck to him, I always thought he had the love of the game first.
-
Has to be both, too much science going into analysing players preferred feet. Being able to kick both blows open these defensive plans. I also found it demoralizing as a defender, working like buggery to shut down a blokes' preferred side, only to watch him open it up by switching sides.

I take it you hold it to be true that the sins of the fathers are the sins of the sons? - Our list has turned over, the bruise free players of the past are well and truly gone.
-
Who are you referring to? not many players have been there for 10 years, Jones worth every cent, I'll think you will find the duds are gone and I don't feel like bklaming the current crop for mistakes of the past. They are totally within their rights to negotiate over their wages.

I think the fact (the real fact not the alternate one) is that we are traumatised as a bunch of supporters by some poor recruiting in the last decade. Having recently reviewed Dom and Salem highlights as well as Kelly and a few others we can call these recruitments a win for the club, that other clubs got Kelly/Cripps/Bont etc is good luck for them, but not something that we obviously stuffed up. I personally think our recruiting staff deserve a big vote of praise, feeling very happy with how we have managed selections and points etc. BTW I don't know how to separate Salem/Tyson/Oliver/Bradshaw/Petracca/Hunt and make a call on who is going to be the best - some people here could make serious coin selling time with their crystal balls, they all look super exciting with no obvious limits yet - Viney seems to have found a level, but the others are still developing into a very bright future for the club. Lastly - the Bont is just incredible, I would take him over anyone else in the comp.

G'day Angry, sorry but you might want to check a little further and maybe edit the wiki you are referring to, as it is wrong. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_White_(Australian_footballer) and http://www.theage.com.au/news/Sport/New-ruck-rules-for-AFLs/2004/12/15/1102787141669.html are pretty specific - the circle was introduced in 2005 after a post season test in 2004. If you look at Jeff White's stats he dropped off after 2004, (a shin injury didn't help either). I stand by my original comment, I'm still dirty about the circles, they stuffed Jeff's run up to the bounce. Edit: My apology,I didn't see the 2nd page of comments, and your retraction, my post was redundant, anyway the forum on JW from 2007 - click on the link, a few commented on the circle.

Who hijacked your login? Most optimistic I have ever seen you.

We deserve it, I'm still dirty about how the circle reduced Jeff White's jump...

Totally agree, wished I'd posted this first, been thinking it for awhile.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – LACHLAN FILIPOVIC
DEE fence replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
He is Leonardo Bloody DaVinci compared to the majority of AFL footballers (and that is O.K. 'cos I only need them to play football, and I'm glad they did their 10,000 hours on a Sherrin). But yes you are right, Rhodes scholar he is not, I think only Mike Fitzpatrick has that, and then, probably the Cordners are the next brightest ruckmen to play. edit, the more obvious grammar mistakes, -
