loved winning when we were a $1.32 to win, was watching the live ladder, thought we might make 8th but didn't, thought St Kilda showed up today, however if you added up all the ifs and buts, when equalled for both sides, we were still clearly better. Yet again Petracca would have the Saints nashing their teeth. Oliver I love, but am starting to get frustrated he doesn't kick a little more, he would seriously open up other sides, with 10 more kicks per game. Hogan was strong all game, I actually struggle to think of a game he has played better, and his head space seemed much better when kicking for goal, was a Matthew Richardson (on a good day) type performance. Angus has found his mojo in a serious way, will steal Brownlow votes off Clarry this year. My one whinge - ANB is not in the top ten, but he tries hard enough for mine, I really think there are some pretty miserable folks on here the way they chew him out, because you can't fault his effort, yes he needs to be better with his disposal, but the way he is described, you'd think he wasn't trying, and that is just not true. I can see him as being the first dropped to make way for Viney though, let's just be a little graceful for someone who is clearly a good servant of the club. Salem... hmm Harmes almost did enough to stay, Hannan looks like a threat, and both Vince and Lewis were very solid, Hunt was OK. I think Salem waits another week, then one of those just named). As Beez said - good on Goodwin for learning the best way to play Leaver, has now played two good games in a row, he also showed why he will never be Tom McD that kick for goal was putrid. Was wearing my Garmin today, HR didn't go past a 100 felt like we had it the whole way - that hasnt happened since i think bluetooth was invented

This is what we saw in the first year + intensity, late in the game he got a little head knock, heart in mouth moment.

6. Hogan 5. Brayshaw 4. Oliver 3. Gawn 2. Hibberd 1. Tyson sorry jones & lewis
-
HOGAN BOG so far, has some competition but he's playing with a desire that is beautiful to watch. We were lucky the Saints shoot like the Somali militia. Pat TomMc the million, while the game was in the balance at the start he did some 1% things that demonstrated will.
-
This season if he kicks 40+ off a limited pre - season I think a million a season is fair - I would wait a little to just check that the run of goals last year wasn't a fluke (I dont think it will be) if he is sub 35 goals his price stays 800-1mil

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
DEE fence replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in General Discussion
Enough for every AFL player in the country to overdose. Thought 360 last night was a bit soft, what are the chances that some of these drugs he is shifting ends up with AFL players. Cry me a river, this bloke is greedy, full stop, he will get a 4-5 year custodial sentence and do 2 at the very most. If the molly is pure then he is up for large commercial quantity (could get 8 years) but if its 'in mixture' then he just gets done for commercial quantity. Note, sentencing comments are my own guess - not the legislated maximums. there is no good behaviour bond for this [censored]. If I was him I'd be paying one of the other bloke huge money to take the fall. edit - Victorian sentencing manual, am not a sentencing expert, but seems a good case for a category 1 offence. http://www.judicialcollege.vic.edu.au/eManuals/VSM/index.htm#64404.htm -
St. Kilda are "absoutely deplorable"; will destroy us

Did you agree or disagree with this? ANB, jeez people are quick to jump on him, overall his trajectory is improving, not the 1st to be dropped by any means, am going to write a post about ANB later. Hunt, this was the 1st game this year where I thought he had refound his run, bombs it like a former dee Moloney and I want that to change - I think opposition will learn from Essendon mistake in giving him that run. But was thinking his game showed promising signs Harmes is always what he has been, why the surprise? Tyson is having a good year overall. -
GAWN JETTA BRAYSHAW JONES OMAC HIBBERD

Drugs Lord did not want to get did of Hibberd, Milkshake not sure, i think his best and worst are schizophrenic, and they were frustrated.

Reading through 2014 I still think we picked the eyes out of the draft, I am a believer in the no DH approach. Round Pick Player Drafted to Recruited from League Notes 1 1 Paddy McCartin St Kilda Geelong Falcons TAC Cup 1 2 Christian Petracca Melbourne Eastern Ranges TAC Cup 1 3 Angus Brayshaw Melbourne Sandringham Dragons TAC Cup Free agency compensation pick (Frawley) 1 4 Jarrod Pickett Greater Western Sydney South Fremantle WAFL 1 5 Jordan De Goey Collingwood Oakleigh Chargers TAC Cup Traded from Brisbane Lions 1 6 Caleb Marchbank Greater Western Sydney Murray Bushrangers TAC Cup Traded from Western Bulldogs 1 7 Paul Ahern Greater Western Sydney Calder Cannons TAC Cup Traded from Carlton 1 8 Peter Wright Gold Coast Calder Cannons TAC Cup 1 9 Darcy Moore Collingwood Oakleigh Chargers TAC Cup Father–son rule selection – son of Peter Moore 1 10 Nakia Cockatoo Geelong NT Thunder NEAFL Traded from Adelaide

Petracca is to St Kilda what Wines is to Melbourne, chances of it changing negligible. Also unlike Port, I don't want McCartin in another year or two...

by generic, what do you mean? i dont think there are too many new ideas in game plans, so you could throw generic around the same way we talk about cliches, like 'one week at a time', i think that the team executed a different set of instructions is evidence that he can coach? what do you want to be different? (for mine i want to see some more man on man occasionally when we need to arrest a run against)
-
So we also need to give Goodwin credit, was clearly a different game plan that worked, using a small forward structure. also just arrived back in Rome from Port Moresby yesterday, woke up to watch it with my beautiful French partner who helped celebrate... perfect way to watch the team song many big smiles beating North
-
I am amazed at how much people read into Goodwin's expression, it is like people watched a season of 'Lie to Me' and are now emotinal experts, will have to watch it again myself, a handy skill to have...

Hodge, almost won the game for them from his wheelchair. Bloke is a better General than Monash. ANB was ok, Fritsch is super clean, i actually thought it was a spear takle/suplex on him that was mega dangerous and reportable, he kept the arm around his throat when he wàs upside down. Wish Stef Martin still played for us. So love Gawn. Vince great role on Zorko. Had a heart attack but personally giving a pass becaise of conditions and travel. Between Melksham and Bugg being unlucky we didnt kill them dead sooner, miss too many always brings the other team into the game. Pederson reliable but we really need Tom. We miss the blond... Hunt Lewis Jetta Salem Hibberd average or worse. Jetta really had his hands full wasnt bad just didnt win Christensen was on. Frost needs to be in to free up Lever. i said to my brother Omac was best defender yesterdy, we should be doing back flips the kid has come good-this is a huge upside - we have our own home grown big defender, took forever but now we have a defender coming into their prime when for the ast 30 years we have had to buy them (excpet for Chip) as they approach retirement (Rivers and Judy were mid size for mine)

is this the game day thread, logged in thinking the match had started after 4 pages

Who do you think would win (seriously) btw Viney and Greene. I think Toby is an ar$e of a person, but a bloody good footballer. Be interested to see who plays on him, and I think Viney has the right level of aggression for this thug.

Doesn't reducing concussion involve two parts? Reducing the transfer of energy to the head and also allowing the head to decelrate at a slower tempo? I can see a helmet doing the first - the second seems a tougher ask. I went and googled what the latest tech is and wasn't particularly impressed with the NFL helmets. Basically the helmets have to (i think) suffer significant deformation to achieve more gentle (relatively) deceleration. Soft helmets seem the way to go.

A poor man's Nick Riewoldt, (in fact i thought he played nick well) with his big bodied running. Not the same level at marking, but definetly unflappable in terms of temprement, maybe a bit more menace) Him moving forward was end of Jack (who I love). If he kicks 40 this year then i reckon we'll have 14 wins in the bag.

'Running Machine' wouldn't be out of place, just saying, and agree with the thrust of your post.

Cassandra? Just teasing, but is there any chance there is no 'Norm Smith curse' but you swapping from the Blues...?
