  1. I have the same fear then the bombers the next week. Imagine 2 beltings in two weeks we would never get another friday game this decade!
  2. Did not mean FA applying to TS. I was trying to convey that players not signing until the end the season / contract will become more common than in the past. Only raised Scully to show how bad it would look if AFL went the way of Rugby League.
  3. unfortunately my gut feel tells me that there will only be one change for the Blues match. As much as I would like to see Davey at Casey I doubt it will happen. The coaching staff need wins now will not be the time to give inexperienced players a run. That being the case then who will replace Tapscott? It is probably Morton. After I looked at the Casey players from two weeks ago he is the player with the most skill/ experience at present. The selection committee will probably make 4 changes and I will look silly again.
  4. And quite often the only player we would get in the Vic side. Also played for SA after he left the dees.
  5. Are there 40 000 carlton supporters going, I thought it was our home game!
  6. Spot on Heart is no substitute for skill
  7. And to top it off he drove taxi's at the time How things have changed. I know Gary and as well as a great player he is a really nice guy.
  8. Agree RR and why risk him in a game they believe they will win without much trouble. They have bigger fish to fry. I still have a feeling Judd will be rested for the same reason.
  9. I agree it is part of the new landscape. Rather have it that way than what happens in RL Then Scully would announce he is off next year but play out the rest of 2011 with the MFC. How bad would that feel. get used to players waiting till the death knock that is the future.
  10. I doubt we have enough of anything to cover Carlton Having said that give Howe a go, he has shown a bit and has some experience playing against men. I agree we would be throwing Gawn to the wolves for no good reason. At best it might reduce the margin slightly and at worst the kid could get beat up and or end up injured. There is plenty of time for Gawn
  11. That was the whole idea
  12. Agree he was one of the few things we had to cheer about for most of his playing years. I remember going to a lot matches just to see him. The problem for those who did not see him was for most of that period there was only 2 matches telecast as we were crap ( yes again ) the Dees did not feature often and there is not much footage of him. I would say he is the best player I have seen play in the red and blue in the last 40 years. If he had played for Carlton during that period he would been clasified a lot higher by the general football public. How good he would have been in a good side we will never know. Thanks for the memories RF
  13. spot on you are correct I should read well before moving my fingers. I agree.
  14. No that was Moses. But you should see him fly for a mark.
  15. Sorry old55 but I do not think he is an elite kick. Trengove is a much better kick. And this year his kicking has been found wanting!
  16. Why is it odds on? Carlton know exactly how to take him out of the game. And IMO they will win easy if he is in or not.
  17. Sorry I meant 2011, you are correct he had some great games last year.
  18. Yes and he is one of the reasons we are not doing well this year. Last year is now history, just another year the MFC finished in the wrong half of the ladder. How long do you keep playing him because he used to be great?
  19. Agree, Not sure why we go on and on about Scully signing. We put our best offer forward and if that is not good enough to keep him so be it. He is after all one player. JC would not improve us at present Good I swore I was not going onto Scully threads again.
  20. It started last year, in the game against carlton they tagged him out. I think it was evident last year and now everyone knows it. Not sure how he gets around the problem but if he does not learn how to defeat a tag we may have seen the best of him. His form this year is a large part of our problem. he is one of our senior players ( vice captain )that should be leading the team, showing the juniors. But what we have is a guy taken out of games by taggers and he is now looking petulant and giving little. In fact he has cost dearly in important parts of games. His kicking used to be superb but it has gone missing in most of the games this year. I just think he needs a game or two at Casey to get some perspective back.
  21. You are right Striker475 From memory he has had one reasonable game the rest have been poor, With Saturday terrible. Teams now know he is easily tagged out of the contest and it does not even take a great tagger.
  22. Sorry to be so negative Jaded but you have to have the skill level to win. No amount of desire will cover a big difference in the relative skill level in the two teams. With our current injury level we are not in the same league as Carlton. Unfortunately A hiding coming up I think
  23. Me too. I am not that devoted that I want to look like a complete dil.
  24. DemonWA it is the older players like Davey that are letting us down. The young guys are having a go. Trade Davey while he still has some currency, pay half his salary he may look good to someone. We got Grimes ( if only he could stay on the park )for Trapper Don't think we could fool brisbane again but a top 40 pick might be ok.
