  1. “In a race up the ladder, the Demons may hold an edge over the Tigers” Gary Lyon 2014 https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/fight-for-2014-flag-20110624-1gjkx.html
  2. They changed their game. No more keepings off. Attack the ball in numbers and relentless pressure. We are still stuck in 2018 prelim final vintage style game.
  3. Borat and his daughter would have gotten away with it. Perhaps get a free for holding the man/girl.
  4. Usually these scenarios involve WAGS but not in this case I believe.
  5. At same stage of careers. Hawkins 79 games and 107 goals. Weed 44 games and 46 goals. Hawkins also offered influential power forward presence during his early years which Weed does not. I remember well the brutal mauling he gave Nathan Carroll and us in his third game where he kicked 4 goals and helped set us on our current never ending mediocrity streak. That was a watershed game for us. Weed needs the competition for his spot. Sink or swim I say.
  6. Do you believe we are any better?
  7. Hogan and Blakey officially on the trade table. I’d take Blakely of the two. We would have to be idiots to take Hogan back. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/fremantle-put-hogan-and-blakely-on-the-trade-table-20201020-p566tq.html
  8. The difference it not the fans who were lamenting but the the football club recruiters and powers lamenting at the one that got away. Basically they are admitting they seriously considered Neale but passed him over for three spuds instead. If this article never appeared in the media fans would not have known better and the discussion would not have happened.
  9. We were very close to picking Fyfe. We recruited his next door neighbour.
  10. Mitch Clark, Rory Taggert, Josh Tynan, James Sellar, Jay Sheehan, Tom Couch, James Magner, Leigh Williams and Mark Neeld. Forgotten how disastrous the recruiting was in 2011.
  11. Sound familiar? https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/former-demons-staff-lament-call-to-overlook-neale-20201019-p566fc.html
  12. AKA Dr Ageless, linked to many unsavoury types.
  13. Some of his efforts that season were super human.
  14. I gave mine away to a neighbour when I moved to Perth. Also there were eyebrows raised and rumours about him and his Brownlow year.
  15. A replacement for Lynden Dunn?
  16. They could go for Hogan. Will come cheap. That will ensure their dramas will continue for a few more years.
  17. Like MFC, its a matter of which Mihochek turns up on the day. Very unpredictable player. He was an inspiring match winner on Saturday but stunk up big time in last seasons preliminary final with just 2 touches in the pies narrow loss to GWS.
  18. Cox psyched himself up by convincing himself he’s playing against MFC.
  19. I imagine he is coming to eat Goodwin’s lunch and more.
  20. Brisbane may have had a dream run this season but they were top two last season and bombed out. They missed their opportunities. This season they are still making linear improvement. Something we failed to do after 2018. No reason to believe they don’t belong where they are. It’s all a matter of taking opportunities as they arise and they have taken the first positive step last night. Something MFC is still clueless about.
  21. We had him and could have got him back several times before he went to Brisbane.
