  1. Another rare prime time game butchered.
  2. Seriously JKH showed more.
  3. Clarkson will come only for the bucks or if his ego makes him think he’s god and can work miracles.
  4. The big kick up the [censored] lasted three weeks. Bad habits storm back with a vengeance.
  5. Dumb, dumb stoooopid quarter.
  6. Gaunt was our best player. Kicked a couple of goals and had a lot of the ball. Flower didn’t play. If Warrick Irwin kicked straighter they might have got 40 goals.
  7. Those were the days of junk scoring. We averaged 95 points a game and 125 against for the season and finished 2nd last. The previous match earlier in the season Fitzroy kicked 26 goals to our 21. Tackles inside 50 were not invented yet. We did beat them twice the following season though.
  8. What’s left of them beat us last Sunday.
  9. I used to work with a company who’s owner was a mad Richmond supporter in the early 80’s. A well known Richmond player recruited from interstate was an employee. His job description was a bit vague and he wasn’t around much. These kind of rorts were widespread. Let he who is innocent cast the first stone.
  10. It’s a damning statistic on the state of the game. Negativity has taken over. Might as well give every team 95 points and only play out the last 5 minutes. At least it will guarantee a high scoring game.
  11. Playing Jones has put us behind the 8 ball already.
  12. In the words of a broken heart It's just emotion that's taken me over Tied up in sorrow, lost in my soul But if you don't come back Come home to me, darling You know that there'll be nobody left in this world to hold me tight Nobody left in this world to kiss goodnight Goodnight Goodnight
  13. Without a doubt our best game since the Hawthorn game of the 2018 finals series. Couldn’t find a weak link in any of the players yesterday. OMac, May, Petracca and Gawn were particularly impressive. Since 2018 we have been in limbo with our few wins painfully eked out. Why does it take an eye watering media roasting to wake the club up? The club never listens to fans.
  14. The learning experience from quite a few of our ‘line in the sand games’ does not seem to last long. We have done this ad nauseum after previous media roastings then reverting to same old bad habits. I hope we don’t get dorked again. Hawthorn is the type of club that will put us back in our place if we aren’t fair dinkum.
  15. Progress report; Weightman X, Pickett 0.
  16. Continuing to play Jones is choosing old boy sentimentality over the future. His is not up to playing another 12 games for us over this and next season based on form, leadership and lack of defined role. He can’t play out a full game and we effectively play with 17 men in the last quarters with him on the field. He may get a farewell game if we fall out of the finals running and that should be it.
  17. Seems to be a pattern in the past couple of seasons where teams get bully like kick sand in face fast starts and then drop off allowing the opposition to get back in the game. A trait we have been particularly good at in recent seasons and then fading.
  18. Bad habits are hard to change when almost all of the leadership group are the main offenders. For years I have been bemoaning main culprit Nathan Jones momentum choking style of play and Jack Viney as a consequence was badly schooled as are the rest of the midfield. The infection is ingrained in now and difficult to change over one week.
  19. It only shows there are many deluded Melbourne supporters willing to punt.
  20. A telling very poignant game to our future for me was round 23, 2016 when on Roos farewell game against the cats we lost by 111 points. Our performance was even worse than 111 points suggest. It was like 186 lite revisited for me and an incredibly disrespectful WTF performance that gave me the impression Roos tenure might be a failure, something was still NQR at the club and questioned the character of the playing group and leadership. Further extremely nightmarish performances to end our 2017 and 2018 season and capitulation of 2019 season is confirming to me we may be a basket case with little hope for the the future. This season is now looking like a right off but if 2021 is just as bad I am prepared to move away from this club and footy in general permanently. Maybe we are a soulless football club that treats supporters like dupes and if we fold I might not care anymore.
  21. I would say roos’s tenure was underwhelming and his le I would say Roos’s tenure was underwhelming in many respects and sick of all the unwarranted platitudes he receives here. He won only 21 out of 66 games. Sure he turned us from a basket case to just mere mediocre but any other coach once Schwab and Neeld were gone would have done the same given the resources given to us by the AFL. His game plan was unimaginative and stifled creative play. Recruiting has been horrendous. He had minimal commitment for the long haul, only the money. He left us with Goodwin at the helm who appears more and more a horrible dud every game. The way the players gifted him a 111 points loss for a farewell was telling. Hiring Roos set us up for another lost decade.
  22. Warren Tredrea from Port couldn’t hit a barn from 30 metres out in his first couple of seasons. When he retired he could kick long bomb goals from 60 metres.
  23. Needs Clarkson or Fagan to sort him out.
