89 games with 44 goals. Averages 22 disposals a game and 2.5 tackles. Had a fairly ordinary season this year by his standards in this disrupted and truncated season. I’d jump all over him. He would be a great get and only 24 years is yet to hit his prime.

IIRC I believe he stayed on the field to the bitter end with his injury. In his final season Flower reinvented himself as an effective forward. Dipper was school mate of mine. A perfect gentleman in real life.

And Flower retired as our leading goal kicker in our breakout 1987 season.

Tired of reading about culture and Jones all in the same sentence. Our culture has been poor for decades but completely pathetic ever since he’s been at the club. He’s done bugger all to improve it and if he is the heart and soul of the club then there is bugger all to it. Results speak loudly and he’s been the standard bearer for the crappiest culture in the competition.

A telling moment is if you can, watch the video of his attitude when he left the field during his last game for us against the swans and the look of Goodwin’s face. His exit papers were stamped then and there.

I said about 6 months ago that if Jones get s another season the club ain’t fair dinkum. He has already gone two seasons too long. No other club is as comfortable with mediocrity as we are.

He’s just not made of the right stuff to make it as an elite key forward. Lacks mental toughness. If he ever turns it around it’s a miracle.

I don’t get it; both partners have demanding careers that are incompatible with living and family arrangements as well as a young baby. One has to take the sacrifice for the kids sake.

We need a premiership so that we can be all be warm and fuzzy with each other until at least the following November draft week.

They changed their game. No more keepings off. Attack the ball in numbers and relentless pressure. We are still stuck in 2018 prelim final vintage style game.

Borat and his daughter would have gotten away with it. Perhaps get a free for holding the man/girl.

At same stage of careers. Hawkins 79 games and 107 goals. Weed 44 games and 46 goals. Hawkins also offered influential power forward presence during his early years which Weed does not. I remember well the brutal mauling he gave Nathan Carroll and us in his third game where he kicked 4 goals and helped set us on our current never ending mediocrity streak. That was a watershed game for us. Weed needs the competition for his spot. Sink or swim I say.

The difference it not the fans who were lamenting but the the football club recruiters and powers lamenting at the one that got away. Basically they are admitting they seriously considered Neale but passed him over for three spuds instead. If this article never appeared in the media fans would not have known better and the discussion would not have happened.

We were very close to picking Fyfe. We recruited his next door neighbour.
