  1. No, he is not. When others have done the wrong thing off field eg young Oliver they have been named and sanctioned by the club. Even made to apologise to teammates. IF Jack has done something wrong off field then he should have been named and the misdoing stated. Instead, the club cover up by talking vaguely about 'some issues' leaving us all totally in the dark with many false assumptions. Bad form MFC. Come out in the open and let us know what is really going on before things escalate.
  2. Hardly call him fat. Looked pretty fit to me. Maybe we could have some similar poses from his detractors?
  3. My fixture indicates that we play Geelong at Etihad this year. No Geelong trip beelzebub.
  4. If she can play like her grandfather she will be a star. What a player Laurie Mithen was.
  5. I have a PE teacher friend who has been trialing this in school games for quite a while and it has worked perfectly.
  6. You got it mate. It really is dead simple as long as the ump can count to three. Oh dear, I hadn't thought of that possibility!!!!!
  7. That wouldn't be very smart to do that. It would give a free to the opposition. Third man on remember?
  8. No, of course not. I did say only if the tackled player is brought to the ground and jumped upon by more than one opponent.
  9. I assume you are being funny Azz. I don't think it needs more clarification. Blind Freddy would get it.
  10. You got it right. When the tackler brings his opponent to the ground. Not when two guys or more tackle a player in an upright position.
  11. The two old timers I really admired were the great South Melbourne players Bobby Skilton and Ron Clegg. Skilton was an amazing rover, tough and fearless with great skills. Ron Clegg was a magnificent centre half forward or centre half back. He played brilliantly in either position. How I wished we had them in our team. Just wondering who others may have admired in other teams.
  12. I agree wholeheartedly DJ. Player A tackles player B and takes him to the ground. Player C jumps on the top and is penalised with a free against. Other players can gather round trying to get ball or receive a handpass. I'm sure this would help alleviate the ugly, scrums that are becoming far to prevalent today and spoiling our great game. Simply, third man on is penalised. Easy for umps as there is no grey area here. No need for an interpretation of the rules.
  13. Jack's skills are simply devine. And is he a real Demon? He must engender great team spirit with his unbridled joy when we score a goal.
  14. Do you see a striking resemblance between Donny Williams and our latest dasher Jayden Hunt hemingway? I would agree with you on Bluey Adams. When he had the ball no one was going to catch him. Gee, he was quick.
  15. Did Tyson and Garlett eventually front ww?
  16. Thanks Jack. You certainly keep your finger on the pulse. Happy New Year of the Demon.
  17. Does anyone know what Viv Michie is doing with his football career? I always had a soft spot for him and felt at times he was not given enough games in a row to prove his worth.
  18. Actually Bobby, I don't think this is an odd question at all. There are quite a few who won't see much action in the AFL namely, Garland, Kennedy, Spencer and Trengove and maybe ANB. I would love to be wrong with Trenners but feel his lack of pace will cost him a regular place. Let's have your next 'odd' question.
  19. My top ten are Ron Barassi Robbie Flower Jim Stynes Sean Wight Cameron Bruce Jack Watts Jeff Farmer Max Gawn Bob McKenzie Don Williams Special mention to Stuart Spencer and Stephen Tingay.
  20. Col could have been a real star but simply lacked consistency. Played some brilliant games. Get well soon Col.
  21. What an inspiration! Keep fighting Neale. I reckon there are some years left for this brave man.
  22. No AA for Jack Watts? You had him runner up before McDonald and Gawn.
  23. Wonderful memories for the oldies on the forum. Thanks WJ. Athol Webb acted as the perfect decoy for big Bob Johnson to have a one on one duel which Bob usually won with a mark or free kick usually resulting in yet another Demon goal. Webb could not be ignored however as he would kick goals too. Lets hope the younger brigade experience the same experience in the not too distant future.
  24. Surprised that Jack Watts wasn't ranked in disposal efficiency. Not surprised that Jetta was ranked highly as he is another Demon you can rely on to deliver the ball safely.
