My nasty wish was for the Eagles to lose by just ONE point. Then they would know what Melbourne felt like two weeks ago. Didn't happen. Next week my two least favoutite teams ( not counting Collingwood) GWS and the Weagles. Is it possible they could both be disqualified and play no further part this season. Wish it was.

Essendon or Sydney? Sydney for me but only because they are playing Essendrug! I do admire Sydney's toughness though.

Unforced in the centre square? That's a hot ball for the possession getter and Dom gets it.

A big fat NO to a trade. This guy is a prime mover. OK he creates turnovers but so do Patrick Dangerfield and Dusty Martin. If you get the ball often as he does there will be forced turnovers. Dont know why the hate for Dom.

30 Years Ago: 1987 Elimination Final
Bobby McKenzie replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Lost to them TWICE during the year and then thrashed them in a final eh? Hopefully, we can one day come back and beat the Kangaroos in a GRAND FINAL. That would be perfect revenge I reckon. -

And the umps paid push in the back those days. Now you can mow a player down from behind without penalty. What wonderful memories and against North Melbourne! I wonder if Simon Goodwin should show this video to his players before North Melbourne games. -

I hope Geelong do well and Sydney but certainly not Adelaide after their weak effort last week.
-
Certainly would not have Watts in the trading game. Injury mucked up his second half of the season. Just like big Max.

Definite keep for me.

Exactly. Stirring up an opponent is nothing unusual. Happens every week. Didn't we do it when we were playing? I certainly did and naturally had days when I was the target of the stirring. Desperate reporting to try and make a story. I guess I have just repeated Demons1858 comments. A strong agreement indeed.

We couldn't take the risk could we? The AFL would charge us with 'tanking'. Come to think of it Adelaide could also be accused of the same.
-
in your own words rjay , 'Nothing on the Line'. That backs up my argument. They didn't go all out giving the game to Weagles on a plate. Just because three guys tried their hearts out doesn't mean the rest of the team did. Weagles a 5 goal better side than Adelaide? Don't think so..
-
Wonder what would have happened if % was exactly the same? Anyone know?
-
Why are we a laughing stock Pates? If we are a laughing stock there are nine other teams behind us who are more of your so called laughing Stock.

No love for Kennedy KC? You mentioned that he had 23 possessions by three quarter time. Did he fade in last quarter? Thanks for your great commentaries throughout the season. Go Casey in finals.
-
I dont know about getting thrashed by Port. Just over 4 weeks ago we had a comfortable 4 goal win over them at the G. We don't play too badly on the Adelaide Oval as well. We'll never know will we?
-
Thanks for your insipid performance on Sunday allowing the Weagles to pinch our spot in the top 8 by a measley .5%.You could have made it just a little less obvious that you were not really trying. 'Resting' two stars was indicative of your intentions. May you go out in straight sets in finals. Also hope Weagles get thrashed in elimination final. Ah!! that feels better getting that off my chest. i wonder how many Demon fans would concur with my rantings?

My 3 word player analysis V Collingwood

Trading Jones is a ridiculous comment. So much for loyalty and bravery against great odds. -
My 3 word player analysis V Collingwood

KNEE JERK REACTIONS I never cease to be amazed at the number of forum members who are so hot and cold. Big win -'Greatest team in comp'. Disappointing loss- 'Gutless, cowards, soft under belly etc etc.' Many must have had little involvement in any form of sport, Of course it was disappointing for Demon fans BUT how do you think the players must feel? If our boys were really gutless cowards the margin would have been in the vicinity of 15 goals. We showed guts and courage to get within 8 points in the last quarter but our poor 1st quarter cosy us dearly. Think we won each of the last three quarters, had more possessions and inside 50s. -
I was, until I was asked at Subiaco last year to pay for a hot dog at the ridiculous price of $12!!! All it was was a plain bun and one frankfurt. No extras. Found another outlet for $6.

Demonland Player of the Year - Round 22
Bobby McKenzie replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
How can their opinion be wrong Clint? Surely an opinion is just an opinion. Its called freedom to express thoughts and ideas. Because you and others don't agree with them it doesn't mean they are necessarily wrong. I think it was Jean Jacques Rousseau who said, "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it" Or something similar. Did some research and it wasn't Rousseau but an English author Evelyn Hall who wrote it in a biography of French philosopher Voltaire. The meaning is still the same though who ever said it. -

He is also a beautiful long kick for goal. Rivalling Bernie for distance? -
