  1. There is some conjecture about one team or the other having to wear clash jumpers if Adelaide and Richmond make the GF. Surely neither team should have wear their away jumpers? The Adelaide and Richmond jumpers are as different as chalk and cheese. If the players or anyone were confused about which team was which then it's off to Specsavers for them. Doubt that our umpires have been there lately though judging by their season performances.
  2. I'm not trying to shut down discussions Doc. Just pointing out the futility of it all whether Watts is traded or not. Noisy minority still trying hard. Same old posters.
  3. Looking at the results of the survey I would say that nearly 70% of us want Jack to stay. Case of the noisy MINORITY I would reckon. Let's give this topic a break and let the MFC decide one way or another.
  4. I really hope you are right but I don't think this will happen. Love to be wrong on this one . I could say John Coleman who kicked over 100 goals in his first season but that's going back a bit I reckon. I wonder how mant Franklin kicked in his first 40 games?
  5. Thanks for clearing that one up. But around two goals a game is hardly great for a full forward is it? Nothing to write home about. My namesake kicked 254 goals in 125 games and he was a half forward flanker.
  6. You don't like Jack do you? Did he pinch your girl?
  7. 80 goals in a bottom side? Don't remember that. What year exactly?
  8. Yeah, his heart is not in it. No emotion when goals are kicked by teammates or himself. Ever notice that Watts is one of the first to celebrate. Heart not in it when he kicked the goal against Collingwood.
  9. LOL Not a good judge of footballers I dare say. Memory not too flash?
  10. Disagree strongly. I believe Watts would do the opposite and play a great game in the GF. Look at the big Queens Birthday game.He certainly didn't crumble in this one. We just cannot affored to lose SKILLED foorballers. Not enough on our list.
  11. I'm incredibly naive. One lone coach out of 18. I think we have to agree to disagree on this one. QED
  12. So Doc. You are saying that AFL coaches train their charges to cheat!!!!!! Piffle.
  13. Do they really? Maybe some but most a definite NO.
  14. It was the most obvious around the neck maybe for the whole season. I have umpired many games and seeing the incident, the whistle would have been up to my mouth instantly. So blatant and crude was the tackle. I also used to pay PUSH IN THE BACK. Gee, how many tackles from behind do we see that propel the opponent forward often into the turf but no free kick?
  15. And I had to laugh when Toby Greene was tackled head high(so obvious) and almost had his head pulled off and the Eagles player reckoned he ducked.LOL
  16. I was just going to write that Jayden Hunt similiarity. Loved his tenacious play. Rightly in the 150 heroes book.
  17. Spencer was unlucky to get injured after he had done a good job in the first couple of games. Had a chance to play at least ten games on the trot.
  18. But we haven't necessarily turned it over. Why couldn't we win the clearance and regain possession? 50 50 chance of regaining the ball. You are virtually saying that a contested possession is a turnover if we kicked it last? Come off it mate.
  19. 26.35 So a ball up is a turnover? Interesting observation.
  20. Top clanger scores for 2017 Dustin Martin 23 games/ 118 clangers Luke Parker 23/103 Patrick Dangerfield 22/100 ( 9 against Richmond at the weekend) Tom Mitchell 22/99 Taylor Adams 22/96 Sam Powell-Pepper 22/94 Dayne Zorko 21/92 Nathan Fyfe 21/89 Trent Cotchin 23/88 Top demon Dom Tyson 19/ 81
  21. Interestingly, I read just recently that Dangerfield and Martin are high up on the clangers list for the season. How is that possible?
  22. Very thoughtful response Little Goffy.
  23. How do you know it was a serious injury Picket? We must wait for the full story to be disclosed before making judgments like yours.
  24. This football term is relatively new. It stems from American basketball where a turnover resulted from a poor pass. One would think that it would be easier toTHROW a ball without being able to be tackled than an AFL footballer KICKING under immense pressure. In the first half of last night's game there were 35 so called turnovers fairly evenly shared between Port and Eagles. Why? Immense pressure forcing hurried disposal. Thus, a real turnover should only be one when a player kicks the ball under no pressure and fails to find his target and finding the opposition instead. I compare it to pro tennis and the term UNFORCED ERROR. A player near the net runs back to reach a deep lob but fails to return it. Surely this is a FORCED ERROR. Therefore when we criticise our own team next time consider whether or not they had a real opportunity to dispose the ball accurately. You will find that there is a huge reduction in so called turnovers. A perfect pass to a teammate is brilliantly spoiled by an opponent. Many here would blame the kicker. What do others think?
  25. Did you count them George or is that just a guess?
