  1. Fair point, but to those who think that Garland playing on a wing is stupid, it shows that the new coaching staff think my point is sound.
  2. Totally correct, told you so early December.Garland will make a competent wingman. The best report ever-DDC-even better than mine. And by the way,if Garland does play a NAB cup game on the wing- I'll stick it up many of you and in particular Dorothy from Canberra & R.R.
  3. With respect,I ask"What game plan"- I feel all players would have been at a loss in knowing what do do- what was required.However.James definitely requires confidence and he has struggled with the pace of the game IMO.I hope the injury has not affected his pace any more than before.
  4. Just back after being suspended by R.R.- was told just after Xmas - B.P. Has been approached by Mark Evans ex MFC now Director of football at Hawthorn.
  5. I have heard today that Barry will take up avrole with the Hawks.
  6. McKenzie is so far behind the others in fitness, he will be very lucky to play the opening round for the Dees. He has been in the rehab group for nearly all the pre season training so far. Garland has been training with the midfield in many drills so far. He has proven to be too small & light to maintain a key tall back role.He will become a match winner on the wing able to go back and also go further up the forward line from this position. Will be able to show his full skill set including speed, poise and kicking from this position. Sellar will play a major key tall back man role, allowing Rivers to play on the 3 RD tall with either Davis or Joel Macdonald as his backup.
  7. Then you are a bad judge at this stage because Williams will play at Casey for the season, whilst Garland will star for the Dees on the WING.
  8. DD - Your correct, I think your team is pretty spot on,a couple of changes I'd make- Bartram would be in my best 21. Joel McDonald may make a good sub- but feel a lot of others would be my preferred . And I would have Davey in, instead of Gysberts at this stage. But the HUGE & CORRECT choice is GARLAND on the WING .
  9. He is actually a little smaller,193cms, but an real athletic goer, great mover, you'll be very im pressed when you see him.You watched Crouch ,he is a similar body shape, except naturally taller and larger.
  10. I'd say the boy with the mo is in serious trouble.Along with several of his team mates. The selections picked has covered all the weakness's I deemed we had on the list, however, no doubt in next years draft we will relook at the midfield again, and look for fast long kicking wingers along with a quality forward small player, however I think one of our indigenous players will shine in 2012.
  11. Great result and congrats-BP and crew, will enhance the list incredibly.Burnett not being picked up surprised me and getting Manger whom is already developed surprised me as well. GO DEES GO.
  12. We have to take it on trust that the second sponsor is known internally and the new merchandise has to be produced to launch it similary at the same time as the announcement.
  13. In revisiting this thread I came across your post- and I have one question for you - you most surely be dreading the possibility of us taking Travis Tuck? And to a late reply to R.R - when we got Clark I was extremely disappointed because I realized Fevola was out of the question, however I would bet my leftie against your righty that Clark will never be as successful as Fevola & sone of the best full forwards ever were Fevola's height or shorter,I cannot think of many over 195 cms tall- Salmon the only one and if Clark ends up as good I will be extremely delighted especially after the loot we paid out on him.To think he is our highest paid player by far is just an outright joke IMO. But let the 2012 season show us who is the better judge- and I hope I'm wrong again.
  14. Might offer my assistance in 2012 to you with the Demonland Squad, if needed. However, if you look at our current list, Garland may not be required on the back line at all in 2012, therefore leaving an opportunity to use him on the wing. The club seems to be using Sellar and Davis as the other two talls along with Frawley and Rivers.
  15. Your joking,I've been trying to getb Dorothy down format least two years now, even offered to pick him up at the airport and return him there. However, you raise another interesting point - is David Dunbar still at the club, I haven't seen him for a long time !
  16. I agree but I'd take Fev as well, but BP can't take them all.
  17. I think that we will take Shannon Burnett after watching him at training. Barry Prendergast & Tim Harrington were there watching him intently. And he was mighty impressive IMO.However, one never knows, there will be many surprises tomorrow. However, I also think Clutterbuck will go very quickly. I think they will take at least one tall maybe two mids and the best available. Although I think they will try out Taggert as a midfielder. Therefore, may only pick up one other rookie midfielder.
  18. I believe the person spruiking Garland was with you: all I can say he is a great judge as Neeld had placed Garland in the midfield in the last session of the day with specialist skill coaching from Royal along with the other midfielders including Morton!
  19. I asked the question today regarding weight gain for Cale. The answer was positive- have a look at his little finger, it has expanded after that Port Adelaide ruckman retired and went to Richmond,he uses it more often now.
  20. Joel Mac went off just before end of session with what looked like a jarred knee.
  21. Just been informed the other reporter was Scott Gullan from the Herald Sun along with Jay Clark.
  22. Jay Clark and another reporter, and camera crew were at training today for most of the session so be prepared for a more comprehensive report in the paper soon.
