  1. No you don't get it because you are not in the demographic that doesn't have a following. You are the same as the directors choosing this site. Your all welded onto the club, and the job. It's not people like you, that we can find, to help them become footy people, and become Melbourne people. The location panders to those who are already decided in their choice. I AM RAPT the club has decided to take this decision to create our home base... absolutely R.A.P.T. But we (Mfc) lack base numbers of followers, supporters, and then long-term regular members who'll stay tight. This decision ought NOT be thinking about MONEY... it ought be about winning new hearts and minds. just getting big numbers of people to our training and functions. We ought to have a BarBQue or hotdogs at virtually every training session for our watchers alike the old Hawks once did. time-fame of day permitting. We ought to think of it as breakeven, or a slight loss even;... just to start to make good relations with people who are inquisitive about the footy club. WE need big numbers coming along and getting interested, and hopefully we can start to make new supporters, and maybe even new Demon families. Gosch's Paddock is the high Profile site, to help us to do this. .
  2. I'm saying we should try to get the people who have not made up their minds yet,,, as to footy,,, or a footy club.. IF people around our development area are half a mind to go to training, to bring the kids;,,, or the kids are nagging mum or dad, and the parent is 50/50... having the easier access to destination could help make the decision. this is going to be a longterm thing so make it easy so wecan be in contact with as many people as we can be. If they're Keen enough to get to training, then they have already selected the club. Why try to get the the ones who are already onboard. Open the club up.... don't hide it away, so it becomes some sort of collectors item, down in Wellington Pde. This is not the way to grow... It's the way to survive. To maintain, rather than to grow_ So, in order to attract those who aren't Melbourne... we have to have ourselves on display,,, where anyone, and everyone can come along, and be made to feel most welcome. Really simple...... just have to come along, and we will gladly try to make you feel like one of us. So we need to bee seen, from the trains and we need to be just outside the transit... trams. trains. buses. cars. trucks. motor bikes. prams. bicycles... even a stray dog, we can sign up. Yarra Park Who can see us from the Trains, at Yarra Park ?? seems to me, we can see them, but they can't see us. Who can see us from the Trams, at Yarra Park ?? seems to me, we can see them, but they can't see us. It's all nice and handy for the Mcc members, and Mfc members based in the northern stand, but where's the new supporters around there? Where.... no where. This is not a growth area. Its a consolidation area. It's a retirement package, that says remember me Demons. Maybe we could turn it into a retirement home for lost Mcc members, as they age? Because we are not going to get many people there, who are not already dedicated to a club. .
  3. Keen enough....... this is ,the Key', we differ on. this is why we fail in past decades. we do not need to attract those KEEN enough. We want to attract those who are half-hearted,,, and with children. This is where we will make our new growth from. Attracting these people and making them FEEL welcome, and not judged. Those welded on's, are not the ones we should be aiming this project at... as lovely and leafy as this Yarra Project looks, it's the wrong location,,, for our potential NEW Growth of supporters. Same attitude, and the very same mistakes again, as in the past. These concepts are all based in 'pretty'. 'lovely'. and to appeal to those whom are already attached to the club. They are all designed for those already, in the inner-sanctum.
  4. Are you kidding me. These people, some will have to travel a fair way. On a train or trains... the whole idea of enticing new people to the club, is to make everything easy for them to start showing interest, and attendance. To make it as easy as possible for these potential newbies, that are not committed either way. Those with just a hint of interest. Some may be single parents: some not interested if foot: but the children maybe. IF Gerry Harvey was to start his business on a status model, designed to be 'pretty', and to attract those already attached to the club, He would go broke, before he was in business for 2 years. He would not get the high volumes of passing trade that he needs to stay afloat, by having his outlets in difficult to get to spots. He would make the stores as easy as possible, to attend, and to buy his wares. I think this Yarra-Park concept is aimed at the already attached, and 'the well to do',,, who travel Wellington Pde on a frequent basis. I DO NOT think this is about growing our base, and increase our Casey Region relationships, at all.

    what is verbose?
  6. No,,, I have nothing to do with the design, or political concept of it, at all;,,, Except that I am the one who has been pushing this barrow of a HQ's and Training/Social Base since back around 2008-9__ or somewhere back there... so that the club can get its Soul Back again... and to reconnect with the people. In order for this club 'to stop bleeding internally' (supporter numbers), and so it might start to grow once again. I am the sole player in this, pushing for the club to be independent and grow bigger and stronger,,, and to stop leaning on the support of the Mcc. Because that is purely survival based;,,, instead of creative aggressive growth based ideas, around making this club enter into this New-Millennia and get more power, stronger in its own right. To stand on its own, under its own strength, and will !
  7. Those are the areas of our support base stronghold; so these are areas we need to cater for, making it easier for them to feel connected to the club, and easier for them to attend training sessions, functions, etc. Cranbourne is a new area we are supposed to be building relationships with. In a view to attraction more new supporters. To help them be interested in Mfc and in Aussie Rules footy.
  8. We used to train close to Swan st. There seems no built in barriers to changing the setup, which is layed out on the grass... unless they have layed concrete kerbs, and put fences in there, since I last went to training. A layout made with white chalk lines, defining where clubs train is not above being changed. Are you suggesting that the soccer club is over and above Us, in the city ? If we wanted to build over Swan st and had approval I feel sure that we would get the lay of land which suited our proposal. - - - - - - - - - - - - look, answer a simple question, straight out for me. In our growth corridor that we are developing, around the Casey region, Do you think we are more likely to get any interested visitors, from down around Berwick, Pakenham, or Cranbourne to watch training and see Our players,,, at Gosch's Paddock,,,, or Yarra Park. Which do you think they would find easier to attend, to show interest in and visit with their children ? See, I'm not about catering to the rusted-on patrons of the club, as they will go to either location... I am all about, 'new people interest' in our club. With people, just starting to take an interest in us... Not the full-on Demon diehards who are already attached.

    is that payTV
  10. and Rory Lobb & Lycett.
  11. Covered walkway over the Richmond Rail lines... the promenade I believe covers the Rail lines and joins up the the Mcg at around Gate7,,, walk straight into the ground. Our Swan street building would join onto the promenade, from OUR 2nd floor.
  12. No one has proposed to build a training complex H/Q's at these suburbs Gonzo. You know that, anyway. We are talking about Gosch's, and Jolimont. And the need for Taxi trips to Jolimont from the southern suburbs. another coward.
  13. No, our H/Q's should be here >>> opposite 112 Olympic Blvd, Melbourne, Vic 3004 Across Swan Street from Gosch's Paddock. To be built backing up against the Richmond Railway Station... a 4 Story building, with underground & ground level parking... >>> we have to build over and across Swan Street, and the Tram Lines, and the footpath on Swan St up to the edge of Gosch's. Here > https://www.google.com/maps/place/112+Olympic+Blvd,+Melbourne+VIC+3004/@-37.8243568,144.9865561,261m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m12!1m6!3m5!1s0x0:0x63575fd647a0b2f9!2sMelbourne+Cricket+Ground!8m2!3d-37.8199669!4d144.9834493!3m4!1s0x6ad642943affc621:0x23259ce926eaf48e!8m2!3d-37.8245886!4d144.9868238
  14. It has nothing to do with how many extra minutes walk... It's the extra step in the chain they have to negotiate, that would put people off. I'm not talking game day. I'm talking about other days, weekdays, and for functions, or dropping in to training etc. We will lose support at the Yarra-Park location, instead of gaining numbers. Only the rusted on will still attend, instead of us growing. It's the commuter traffic on the trains heading home out of the city, that when about to pass our H/Q's,,, that this Swan St location would encourage people to get off the train on the way home, and drop in.
  15. Hi timbo. Not sure If you understood my post earlier. Our corridor (Malvern, Moorabbin, Bentleigh, Oakleigh, etc), is/was our strong hold from years gone-by, Re supporters. But that's Not my training location, suggestion. I'm suggesting we stay at Gosch's paddock,,, and build our H/Q (a 4 or 5 story complex), between Swan St and Richmond Railway Station,,, which should be built over Swan Street, across to the edge of Gosch's. Overseeing Gosch's and our training ground there. This is a big deal;,,, building over Swan St and the tramlines,,, but not as big a challenge as building over the Jolimont Railway lines. The thing is, we would be right on the doorstep of the Major Rail lines servicing the East of Melbourne, the Sth-East of Melbourne, and the South of Melbourne, all the way to Hastings/Finders, the Mornington Peninsular, and Eastern Victoria. The building at this locale would open onto the Richmond Station Promenade from the 1st or 2nd floor. This Promenade would take us along to the Mcg, City end,,, without having to negotiate ramps or steps/stairs. We can do this. .
  16. ??? Swan street is good enough for the Melbourne Storm, for the Pies, and the Tiges are just a Sand Iron away. There is enormous amount of footy going public, along the Sandrinham, Frankston and Dandenong, rail lines.
  17. Short walk to the train, in the rain?? Short walk to the train, with little kiddies? Short walk to the train, with people with disabilities. Jolimont suits the well heeled, who take taxis everywhere, and do not travel on metro trains. It does not suit the grassroots supporter AT ALL. IF the Victorian Labor Party see this as fact,,, then they will help us to build adjacent to Gosch's Paddock. And we can build over Swan St and the Tramlines,,, more easily than building over the Jolimont Rail line. and cheaper to do except for the apartment building. The ground floor would be undercover car-park, maybe even 2 levels, one below ground. So the 1st floor would reach out over Swan Street, above the Tramlines, with viewing over Gosch's.and training. It could have some membership retail area and cafe etc. The floors above, can hold the Gym, Footy Dept, Admin' Offices, Function Rooms for meetings, Social areas, etc. A building over Swan Street gives us passing traffic every day of the week to grow ourselves, and so easy to attend, and to leave for home. Easy for families. Easy for every-one along the Sth-East Corridor, who continually get ignored buy the AFL. Lets own the STH-East Corridor. We can if we want to.
  18. THEY are footy dumb, when it comes to footy clubs. They're good at the turnstiles, swyl. Thats all they are. They stuffed up,,, knocking down the Smokers Stand, And they took OUR players race, away from the Mfc members/supporters children... they couldn't run a footy club, if they had all the kings horses and all the kings men.
  19. The location in East Melbourne (Yarra Park) is Wrong. We are trying to grow the club base at grassroots level, and so this location is the last of the 3. I would think. We are aligned with Casey. And we're trying to connect with our original supporter base, which the largest is around Malvern to Oakleigh, Bentleigh, and those suburbs, etc. we are going to grow out in the Sth East corridor out from Melbourne's suburbs. we will have large prospective numbers of people out there, IF we can make a direct link Via public transport... Jolimont just makes yet another step in the transport journey, for those prospective supporters to undertake,,, in getting to, and leaving to get home. We are talking about the reduction of driving to games, and so the location IS Imperative to our Growth_ Location Location Location. We have almost everything right, except the locality of the home base. If we are to attract big numbers of our supporters to training, and to after-games, and functions, our new HQ should be adjacent to the biggest Rail-Line, and with Tram stops present, as well. It must be at the Richmond station, to attract our support base, and to make it easier for them, getting to, and home afterward. I say down with East Melbourne ----- It's just too hard for distant supporters, to make the trip, on another step to Jolimont. __ are we developing Casey, and the Sth-Est Corridor,,, or Aren't we ?
  20. the attitudes swyl. the attitudes that have led us to vote for directors we do not know nor come into contact with, Via the recommendations sent out to us in club letters. ... usually recommended as well from the mcc,,, all good and harmonious there, but at what cost, swyl. You are very negative about anything that shines a dark light on the things that you cherish, without any consideration from yourself ? 'the fish rots from the head' I believe I have heard you say many times, yet you still will not tolerate the thought, that something you cherish is actually cancerous. And killing itself, from the inside. - - - - - - - - - "Sloane overrated", another meaningless comment from you out of spite,,, about something you are weak at, judging player talent. Sloane is tagged week in, week out, for good reason. swyl. But don't let the facts hit you in the face with a cold wet fish.
  21. Large trees can be prepared, dug-up and transplanted, to new locations.
  22. persistent. We have to get this club winning in September. And save it from itself. Niceness knows no bounds, and is lovely, outside the theatre of battle. It is an imposter, within the forming of an army.
  23. I hope we are onto something, with the ranger.
  24. ah, bookend the Naidoc Week, perhaps ?
  25. We don't want to become the new Saints. unable to win at the 'G'. We can defend well currently at Etihad. Bit more difficult to control opposition, at the 'G'. We need more speed around the midsection, for the Mcg. The Flower's, Stretch's, Johnson's, all did well around the Mcg.
