  1. not enough time. when in and out, or tired and wake fresh up next day.
  2. tell her to stop making sense Gorg. more sense, than umpires, that bad?????
  3. Yeah, I know that SD. I would say that the Weide just kicked the door in. Stats on disposals (stretch), on it's own,,,, isn't smashing the door in. But how he does it, goes about his game will be the key. I am a fan, but he has to be ready, and to make a difference from the start in AFL.
  4. When you get a serious injury to a key player, and you find it hard to replace the injured player, you use the talent available to best suit needs. TMc is having greatest effect in multiple roles, in the past 12 months, and it was me that called for him to leave the defence,,,,, and go forward as a follower. So your not telling me anything, dimmy. Now because of circumstance, we may need him to return to where he once roamed, to help us out with his newfound skills, and further self-belief and maturity. We do have bit players, who can do other of his roles. But that CHB position is critical to our whole game-plan. Now you say he and Hogan are our strength at the moment but hogan is playing high up he ground and has don little deep recently. But he has starred when going on ball, ov erthe past 6 weeks. Also TMc, has starred when on the Wing, and roaming far and wide, and then pushing back hard, into our F50. So now. throw in the Weide, into your scheme. Hogan, TMc and Weide. Where do you start TMc now? And who do you play at CHB?
  5. Yep,,, just add more composure across the centreline going forward. We have to be more mindful of our entries, Huge Hefner says .
  6. Yes I would try him inside, in place of Tyson. Just to see what he looks like there,,, against one of the lower sides. end of year we make some big decisions and we need to look at our fringe players. now is the time to check them. Tyson hasn't shone so far. I would consider Bugg an in instead of Tyson, Lew, or Bernie?
  7. I wonder if Frost could play that Wing role, that TMc's been playing? If he's being mobile and attacking, and taking strong marks around the ground, he could try the wing role,,, and also the 2nd ruck role, from the wing. That leaves us with the Weide and TMc. If Weide comes in to partner Hogan, then TMc would be more than adept at CHB.
  8. really... interesting.
  9. Weideman 139 points Buggy 125 points
  10. I don't agree with substance of you post, about attending. People want to belong to something. They are not all as busy as you seem to be 'rge'. Having it at Richmond station would allow some on the spur of the moment, to hop off the train and go to the D's HQ. They're not likely to do this, having to get of the train, cross the busy roads, and then walk all the way up the hill to Jolimont. The inspiration to go see the new HQ will have evaporated. For those who have a thought of, 'maybe'. Mums with kids in tow. Single dads, it just gets that bit farther, that bit harder. The whim evaporates, with the extra walk, on top of the public transport journey. you don't see it, I see it. its an issue and the regualer d's members are unlikely to see it. St-Kilda at Moorabbin. then hey went to Seaford. Then crawled back to Moorabbin, because the members did not buy into the move... they hated it, being out of the way, and out of sight. So they did not attend training, and many stopped taking memberships. Having it close as can be, and a high profile site is crucial. Richmond station is one of the busiest stations in the state. Jolimont barely. Now the after-game. thousands of people go back thru Richmond station... our supporters many would pop in after the game, if not before the game,,, on getting off the train, to have pre-game drinks, or eats. We would get hundreds on game day following the match. Lots of Revenue. Not so having to go the opposite way, away from the station.
  11. Not necessarily mnocr. FB: Jetta, OMc, JSmith HB: Hibberd, Petty, Salem CL: Stretch, Brayshaw, TMc HF: Jones, Hogan, ANB, FF: Melksham, Weideman, Fritsch Foll: Gawn Oliver Viney Int: Lewis, Vince, Harmes, Hannan, Em: TSmith, Garlett
  12. there is a multitude of reasons why Yarra Park is the wrong choice. Tell me 'rog', which station would carry more people traffic to and from the Mcg? Richmond station or Jolimont station.?
  13. schight yeah.. Why couldn't we, but does it really need saving.... by whoz judgement, does it require a saving??? the way I see it is we are just on half way and we are around 4th/5th? watts to save? 4th or 5th is higher than I hoped for, or expected, and we are still in the learning/hunting mode.
  14. I've been going early Re the Weide, since I called for him to be drafted by us. Prayed for a little Weide in the xmas stocking. and duly delivered. Now his body looks to be getting ready for AFL, and his mind is following.
  15. What a change in perception Mono,, from some of our footy brains up in the grandstands, after many saying Sam's not a footballers R's whole/bootlace, and that we made another flop Draft pick. Well, he's just showing up a few wearing Omelette faces, around here.
  16. I can imagine both Smiths coming out, for your Weide and Frost. I would like to see Stretch in this week, after the last couple of games showed a lack of leg speed in our team. Tim Smith sold not be our 2nd ruck option. He should be our 3rd tall forward... playing 3rd tall and R/Roving. - maybe Petracca rests ? Your spot on abut Pedo, he came into a tired team, which played crapp. Not his fault. Maybe your right, its time to rest a couple of names players, one at a time. Let them hone their hunger again. and earn a spot back.
  17. It must be, and also covering our bases. If OMc got injured, or rubbed out,,, we would be in a strudel. But he could be handy, he's played there before. And, IMO,,, we could do a lot worse than giving Pedo one more year, for these same reasons.
  18. I think the players at Casey have to smash the door down to get into this side. We have some playing well consistently at Casey, but are they smashing it in,,, or just knocking politely.
  19. Unbelievably short sighted comments... obviously from someone who knows zilch about developing a young team... I suppose you preferred the 2007 - 2012 model, which we employed ?
  20. It also puts us in the ball park, with salary cap space,,, to go after Dylan Shiel or Matt Buntine (Restricted Free Agents) in 2019... or possibly Joshua Kelly who is out of contract in 2019. # also Zac Jones comes outOC in 2019... according to footywire. https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/out_of_contract_players?year=2019 So we park some salary cap into a short term contract (Murphy). with Lewis coming outOC, end of 2019_ Bernie has 4 games to go, to get to 100 Mfc games... likely to be against the Cats, down at Geelong. So we'll have a few players to free up salary cap space, in the next year or 2.
  21. We need to wind the clock back on the rules and interpretations, all the way back to 1990.... and start over. Over a 3 Year period. Stating with the interchange-bench and rotations this end of season... cut the interchange back to 3 Players, & one Substitute... and reduce the rotations by a third, Pre 2019. Pre 2020, reduce rotations by another third. Pre 2021, change the interchange to a 2 man interchange, & have 2 Substitutes... anyone subs off, they're OFF.
  22. yes it is. yes they would. IMO its difficult to see 'inside the ruck' (rugby), when a players on the ground with ball and swamped, "stacks on the mill", its impossible to see what is going on underneath so they guess. The AFL and the Coaches have stuffed around with the rules for the past 20+ years, thinking short term,,, and they have made a shambles out of it. Now its a quagmire ! an unrecognisable piece of crappp, compared to yesteryear's high marks, poetic dashes, and heroic acts.
  23. Yep he showed his class in his first season. But his weakness is always going to be a concern Re his footy. But if he continues his attack at the ball and the man, like he is, he will become untouchable, within our list.
  24. I think its nearly time for Garlett again,,, but also it could be Spargo who may come back in, after a week off ? If not Spargo, maybe Baker to a wing ? I wonder if Petracca needs a week, to rest his weariness off ? I would not drop Tyson after just the one game... and similarly, Joel smith. I like his size difference down back flank. And he needs all the in-game development he can gather. We very nearly, (and should have) taken the points over in Adel' town. And we had so many players just a bit off touch, because of intensity. So thee is very little to do at the moment. Except continue getting games together as a unit,,, while they deserve them.
