  1. good comparison I think.
  2. Diversification of the Mfc fan base, will not occur, & will not get much growth with the Jolimont establishment. The whole problem is the aim at the top end of town alone. And this is why we will not grow.
  3. Very honest CBF and spot-on by my reckoning... almost the mirror image IMO, to 1987 Prelim. If we got passed the Hawks,,, we would have crushed the Blues that year. We through that game away, out at Waverley in '87. The Hawks had the wood on us. through that Era; so we became our own worst enemy, Re them.
  4. You know, after all this talk of Gaff, DeGoey, whoeva, etc etc. I would be pretty happy to pickup Murphy and Sloane.... plus some good running kids from the draft. Even more than endurance, we need some, break-away speedy young players.
  5. I just like to say, are these team sheets put out for the players??? or is it meant to help the footy tragics? If so lets just abbreviate the names... in the interests of the footy public. ...bending over so far, just to please the players association, has turned many a footy punter right off. Just one more tiny nail, in the footy coffin lid. One that needs to be re-opened, and aired out.
  6. Bern will be back, next match. mmw's.
  7. ... can't we keep the team lists to just plain surnames, Werridee ??? Its too busy, and too hard to see at a glance who is in there. can't see the tree, for the forest.
  8. It's time Petracca was playing more time in the centre square. Allowing others into the team in the forward half. Petracca should drift forward with the play. We currently, in an ideal world, have too many one paced players running through H/F and the guts. We'll ultimately need to replace a couple with some pacier types. Weide's should not be competing with Bull, but more-so with Pedo, TMc and to a lesser degree, Hogan. Bull should be IMO competing with Petracca, ANB, Harmes, Jones, etc. And the small quick's, for a place up forward.
  9. ah, he kicked them using someone else's boot? ☺️
  10. Well done Trenners. If wish you every bit of good fortune for your career. A fantastic Demon trying his luck elsewhere... a True Demon at heart.
  11. I wondered why I always liked that name, Weitering.
  12. Bartel was talking about how we transition the ball away from winning the contest. It's not either/or, we want beasts in-under. But we need class on the fringe of the contests, to advance the ball to better positions. And his other factor, is when we are ready to kick the ball inside 50. We have to be at our most composed for this entry disposal, going in. This, (Re the fringe of the contests) is why, I want Sloane. He has the class, and can win his own possessions inside as well. Don't get me wrong, I think we need more class players, than just Sloane.
  13. could also be a symptom of a head knock.

  15. Of all places on the field, we have to lower eyes and be composed, prior to the F50 kick. This is why midfield marks are SO important, that we are not so pressured on entry. And we can also look for runners going by, when we have marked 80 to 100Mtrs out. But the key is, we have to be quick thinking but composed, in the mid section of the ground. It explains why Hogan has not gone so well in the past 2 weeks since
  16. Never changes his bathwater. he believes in being efficient. plus, loves it's flavour.
  17. so do the aged, apparently, D11... sometimes, but mostly just get impatient. and some speed , D11. We haven' got one, a genuine crumb'r, he's playing with the GCSuns, atmo. Or is that Richmond? .... take your pick, Ben Ainsworth or Jack Higgins. either or.
  18. ... haven't had a player the Ooozed for 10+ years, I would think 'Hmwy'. but ooozed Prof',,, that's a good point of difference me thinks.
  19. We cannot afford to go into any match without respect for the opposition. That is a good recipe to lode by. Every team enters the field with 22 players, (44 arms, 44 legs, amongst them)... take them lightly at your peril. We have to play our style of game and restrict them with as much pressure as we can apply. Let the numbers Re percentage, fall where they may. They will take care of themselves IF we play our tough hard disciplined game style. .
  20. Spot on Bdf. Not just Roosy, 'Bdf'... Barassi, Jordan, the Hawks under Alan Jeans also. Many reserve players at Hawthorn played more than 100 games in the reserves, before they started their AFL careers. Impatience is a killer of footy clubs, and of players careers:.. whether it be playing too much to young... or playing them too soon after injuries.... and not resting them when injured.... .
  21. I agree sort of, that I don't think we're a year away from beating the 'big' teams. But we are from doing it consistently. But we do really need to tough hard speed.
  22. Hogan as I recall, was a roaming CHF in the u-18's. The vision of him in my mind was just that, marking on the move. And I do like him also playing as a big ruck-rover on occasion, as well.
  23. ... is there some Germanic Saxon in this image ? could be a tough goodun?
