  1. It's not your glasses, OD. its your mind. You can only see what is before you, as in the past few seconds. Instead of being able to see what he's develop into,,, and the little progresses going on.. the finer points. You seem to have to be slapped with a wet fish, before you can see what it was. Now not all players continue to develop but this kid is just starting to because of his body well being, and size. And his age maturity amongst the big guys.
  2. Apparently May hasn't decided yet, since its early July. I would say the Clarko is into him.
  3. I sense we are more strongly committed to the game effort, when we feel our backs are to the wall. (subconsciously) When we start to feel more comfortable in our-selves and team, WE the Mfc (players and all,,, supporters as well) seem to lose some intensity and fire in the belly,,, and we feel the pressure when we're suddenly the hunted. Then we as a club, switch like a light-switch,,, into Victim mode. The atmosphere changes from being one of feisty-hunger, into an atmosphere of fear/anxiety and defensiveness. And we go into a negative mentality... Or reverse if you prefer. This mood swing is as bi-polar as Red and Blue are. It happens so often, that its normal for Mfc.
  4. We do need more endurance Wtm... BUT we NEED pace much much more. We have too many one paced types throughout... we need 2 or 3, quicker than one paced players, in our 22. Gaff as another endurance player, is way too expensive, just for the elite endurance. I would clearly have DeGoey ahead of a Gaff. We don't need the fastest and 2nd fastest players in the comp.... but we do need a few quick players, that have breakaway tow. more than anything else. And I do not subscribe to one dimensional quick's, like jeffy. They MUST be able to roll up the sleeves and dive under packs with a smile,,, as well as be a goer on the outside, when they're in that position.
  5. We win in the Alice as well.
  6. Yes, too young; but TMc isn't. I agree, KDA but we do need more leaders in the team. maturity.
  7. No we don't. We lack running mids who go. we lack pace and foot skills. But we do not want or need pure outsiders. see garlett.
  8. Tyson, similar to or more than watts. Kent 3rd Rndr? Garlett 3rd Rndr?
  9. DV8 replied to DV8's topic in Melbourne Demons
apparently, He wants to be a Millionaire? who's in the 'Millionaire hot Seat' ?
  10. energy and agility I would say 'W', with intensity. Quick stepping players we need, and also top speed players as well
  11. IMO, Its not about the people that are following, so much blzb. But about attracting others who aren't,,, by opening the club up to all. Particularly the public transport users of the East and Sth East. Purely as the starting point. And IMO, we want as many patrons flocking from games to the new HQ's after games, to celebrate, and to spend. And then after, all they have to do after is step outside;,, and they are either at the tram stop or the train station... if the Richmond Station is the option. Jolimont will NOT do this for the masses.
  12. Diversification of the Mfc fan base, will not occur, & will not get much growth with the Jolimont establishment. The whole problem is the aim at the top end of town alone. And this is why we will not grow.
  13. Well done Trenners. If wish you every bit of good fortune for your career. A fantastic Demon trying his luck elsewhere... a True Demon at heart.
  14. I wondered why I always liked that name, Weitering.

  16. Never changes his bathwater. he believes in being efficient. plus, loves it's flavour.
  17. Hogan as I recall, was a roaming CHF in the u-18's. The vision of him in my mind was just that, marking on the move. And I do like him also playing as a big ruck-rover on occasion, as well.
  18. Yeah, I know that SD. I would say that the Weide just kicked the door in. Stats on disposals (stretch), on it's own,,,, isn't smashing the door in. But how he does it, goes about his game will be the key. I am a fan, but he has to be ready, and to make a difference from the start in AFL.
  19. I don't agree with substance of you post, about attending. People want to belong to something. They are not all as busy as you seem to be 'rge'. Having it at Richmond station would allow some on the spur of the moment, to hop off the train and go to the D's HQ. They're not likely to do this, having to get of the train, cross the busy roads, and then walk all the way up the hill to Jolimont. The inspiration to go see the new HQ will have evaporated. For those who have a thought of, 'maybe'. Mums with kids in tow. Single dads, it just gets that bit farther, that bit harder. The whim evaporates, with the extra walk, on top of the public transport journey. you don't see it, I see it. its an issue and the regualer d's members are unlikely to see it. St-Kilda at Moorabbin. then hey went to Seaford. Then crawled back to Moorabbin, because the members did not buy into the move... they hated it, being out of the way, and out of sight. So they did not attend training, and many stopped taking memberships. Having it close as can be, and a high profile site is crucial. Richmond station is one of the busiest stations in the state. Jolimont barely. Now the after-game. thousands of people go back thru Richmond station... our supporters many would pop in after the game, if not before the game,,, on getting off the train, to have pre-game drinks, or eats. We would get hundreds on game day following the match. Lots of Revenue. Not so having to go the opposite way, away from the station.
  20. there is a multitude of reasons why Yarra Park is the wrong choice. Tell me 'rog', which station would carry more people traffic to and from the Mcg? Richmond station or Jolimont station.?
  21. I think the players at Casey have to smash the door down to get into this side. We have some playing well consistently at Casey, but are they smashing it in,,, or just knocking politely.
  22. Unbelievably short sighted comments... obviously from someone who knows zilch about developing a young team... I suppose you preferred the 2007 - 2012 model, which we employed ?
  23. Yep he showed his class in his first season. But his weakness is always going to be a concern Re his footy. But if he continues his attack at the ball and the man, like he is, he will become untouchable, within our list.
  24. Learning curve, rjay. Learning to play big games, and intensity. Its NOT wasted.
  25. AFL's interpretation to umpire to the home crowds, seems to take precedence over the reality. It used to be just Collingwood and Carlton, that got the dream run from the umps... now it seems its's the vigorous home crowds, the Umpires are directed to Panda to. ?
