DEVIL OF A TIME - Match Preview and Team Selection
jnrmac replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Trengove is not playing well but here is a guy who had a poor year last year, gave up the captaincy and tries his heart out. I think we have to be a bit careful with his state of mind. Not kid gloves but I think he deserves some more chances to get his game back on track. As for Blease, what exactly has he done to deserve a game? Hasn't ripped it up in any of the pre-season from what I saw. -
Daniher told me they wanted McLean at pick 3 but took Sylvia because they though he would go at pick 4. Just sayin...
-
Yep 2 games in 1 year and a bit. He's killing em....
-
The handball receiver is as much at fault. They stand 1m away from the player with the ball. Basic stuff but when we get the pill spread. Haven't done it for 7 yrs now....
-
What mid-season? Hey great idea. To be replaced with?? Soidee? Hello?
-
They were under a lot of pressure. Opp'n teams know that they can pressure Melbourne into mistakes. They were crunched hard at every opportunity by the Weagles.
-
If I could put one of those face palm photos I would....
-
The Pies drafted Sharenburg who has gone off for operations on each foot.
-
Dropped chest marks, missed handballs from 2 and 3 metres. Anyone who thinks these are acceptable and shouldn't be put to the players straight after the game is dreaming. IN the presser he was very composed. Neeld shocked everyone because he was so uncomposed. He was almost breathless and crying. Roos was a long way from that.
-
The fact he was surprised at basic skills and composure is of great concern but if you have been at other clubs and not seen it, so it should be. Roos was at Fitzroy where they were routinely smashed but the skills and commitment were clearly better than us. CLearly we train differently to the way we play. As Neeld used to say - "we train well but we just aren't bringing it to game day". Roos has now experienced the same thing albeit in week 2 not ni week 1. The alarm bells will really be ringing after this week. And that is when he will really start to earn his money.
-
I felt the same. At least we didn't give up. They had a crack. They were physically overwhelmed but Jones, Dyson and Cross were really the only two IMO that put their bodies on the line and threw themselves into each contest. I guess Spencer did as well but we gained no benefit at all from him doing that. We lost the first 8 centre clearances, were pushed off the ball far to easily and made basic errors. Its not the worst loss I have seen from this mob. far from it.
-
Which bit do you mean? The dropped chest mark after he ran 30m to make position?
-
Don't recall that but its his 3rd AFL game. Good to see you write him off. Even if it is something youdon't normally do...

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

You can also put an asterisk next to Essendons 1993 premiership as they were fined for salary cap cheating from 1992 -1996. -
Fitzpatrick played like he was still concussed. Seriously. There is no way he was recovered fm last week. Had no idea where to go who to follow etc. (and no he doesn't play like that every week) Lost the first 8 centre clearances and the game.
-
Interesting that most of the players who were leading the stats at draft camp have not gone on to become regular players.

I wonder if that is like Worksafe relying on ASADA to conclude their investigation before getting involved?? -

A lot of these drugs help supposedly help strength and recovery times. Recovery times allow for greater intensity and time of training. Strength would still be a benefit a year down the track. The training loads have already been done so yes they would still be benefitting from the drug regime even today. -
The continuing saga of Melbourne's injury list - 2014
jnrmac replied to alpha33's topic in Melbourne Demons
yep Bennell has played 1 game for West Coast - in a row !! About as regular as he got for us! Didn't play a game in 2013. Real regular. Just sayin... -
You're dreaming. You are a member yes. It doesn't entitle you to that much. The club has to balance objectives of members, media, players and their privacy, the coaches and competitive info etc And really does it matter? The uproar in the MClarke thread is unbelievable. The guy wants to play. If he ain't ready for whatever reason then who cares if we know every detail or not. Sometimes the medical staff just don't know what is wrong with players. The way you would have it is that scans and xrays would be sent to all members before consulting wit the player!

cut and paste the first paragraph into google then click on the link that pops up. Works around 95% of the time. You could also try substituting "news" into the URL where it says "theaustralian" Works for the Herald Sun as well. -

Which is always a good time to steal your neighbours newspaper..... -
Give it a rest. He's a dud and your are a loon.

I see your line of thinking but its disingenuous. The opther choices in the top 10 of that year (2003) were: F Ray K Tenace K Bradley R Clarke D Trotter It was a crap draft. R Dunn
