Roos knows what the problem is. He is smart. Whether he can fix it is another question. In practical terms you can throw the team around like he did today until you find players who want to play with every ounce of energy and passion. The problem we have is that most of the players with energy and passion can't play: Nicho, Grimes, Bail, Byrnes, Spencer, McDonald, Trengove, Evans, McKenzie, Tapscott, Terlich and Jetta. Others with passion who can't get on the park are: Clark, Dawes, Hogan (from what we have seen) and Garland Those without passion: Watts, Frawley. We don't have a lot of options. And that is scary.

Cheney is an an average footballer. We made the right call. What some here seem to miss is that not every player in a good team is a champion. The fill a role. Its the leadership and the elite players that usually determine ow a team plays. Players that we have been lacking for 7 yrs. Port is a good example. Good mids and leadership. A lot of average players that play roles. But they also play with heart because the leadership demand it. A lot of Melbourne players make it at other clubs (a lot don't also !) FFS even Bennell gets a game at West Coke. That's why possibly losing Mitch CLark is gonna hurt us incredibly. A fit MClark is an elite competitor and talent. He lifts other players, gives them confidence and demands better performances. We need 4 pr 5 players minimum like that..sadly...

Get over the remuneration. Its irrelevant largely. We have to pay it to someone. Had Clark strung more games together he would the best value player on our list.
