You mean they aren't working to your timetable? I am sure they would be upset by that. Or do you mean you would rather have a short possibly incorrect investigation rather than a long most likely correct one. I'm confused... -

The continuing saga of Melbourne's injury list - 2014
jnrmac replied to alpha33's topic in Melbourne Demons
He's not a gamebreaker in any case. At his best he only scored 30 goals in a year. If he gets on the park it will give us a big target but he ain't no Mitch Clark that could kick65-70 in a season. -

Yeah but... the difference with Wade lees is that he ordered the substance. Therefore he took the rap. If Dank ordered the substance its hard to prove what the individual players took. The players might get off... -

The scenario for Dank is this as I see it. Co-operate with ASADA and the AFL . If you don't like the outcome go to court. Don't co-operate. Wait until they force you to go to court by making accusations. Defend those accusations in court. The latter has many more benefits for Mr Dank. He only has to respond to information they have and 'charge' him with. If he fesses everything in the beginning and lifts up his skirt he has nowhere to hide should they conconct an outcome for him. Probably the smart option to take the latter. A bit like the tax department on a fishing expedition. Fess up early and let them have their way with you or wait til they charge you with some misdemeanour based on incomplete information. Defend it with the additional information you possess and bingo - they can't try you twice for the same crime as it were. -

If they did keep records they are stuffed. If they didn't keep records they are more stuffed. -

This is my mail... The board want to get rid of Hird but can't without costing $2m+ They will meet tomorrow and get JH to sign an agreement that he and his 'supporters' will quit commenting over the affair. If he or his supporters breach that they will bin him. I would add that if the ASADA report nails JH they will also bin him as well but it won't cost them anything as that would be a clear breach of contract. -
FT you still don't get it. We haven't been able to attract players. Money has been irrelevant. But thats enough from me. i;ll leave youto your opinion. Cheers

I would usually agree with that OD but the effort has gone on too long and is too concerted.....and its coming from all those that are family or being paid by Hirdy. -

Its looking more like this every day.... -
We have been front loading contracts since before $cully. Beemer, Jamar, Morton, Sylvia, Frawley etc - who were all on front loaded contracts. We have tried desperately to get quality players to come to the Dees. Number 1, there aren't that many that come on to the market every year. Number 2 they mostly don't want to come to the Dees. The only recruits of significance have been Clark and Dawes. And they have never played a game together. So talking about paying the full cap is garbage because we would if we could. You simply haven't thought it through. I asked you what quality players have come on to the market that were interested in coming to the Dees? Luke Ball set his fee at $500k so as not to be selected. And yes we probably should have taken him before Luke Tapscott. But that's it. What you are suggesting is simplistic, impractical and largely unachievable. Particularly as GWS and GC were in the market for the past 5 yrs paying ludicrous sums. But if you have a list of fabulous players we could pay the cap to I'd like to hear it..
-
Yep nice one. Can't answer a straight question. And then you throw in spurious incorrect arguments. Typical bully behaviour. Tell me the plethora of players lining up to play for the Dees? I'm still waiting...
-
What tripe are you espousing? The cumulative effect? WTF is that? And Jed Lamb and Blicavs are superstars are they? Dusty would be a great pick up - no club wanted him as he is an accident waiting to happen. And front loading contracts has worked out well for us hasn't it? Frawley is not in the top 25% of paid players and can walk at years end. Any more bright ideas?
-
Really? Name the players that Melbourne could have attracted so that we can pay 100% of the salary cap? They are queueing up to play for melbourne aren't they. I noticed the line outside our offices pre-draft of all the gun players that were itching to play for the Dees. Or are you suggesting that we simply pay our existing players more? Either way I suspect its you that doesn't understand.

Lot of smart people on this site. How would the wrist slashers have been had we not kicked 10 points straight? Say 4 goals six points instead? After all 2 were posters... With all the injuries we sustained and lack of available rotations I'd be betting some would be hailing Roos a genius....

Surely you mean a rebuild of a rebuild of a rebuild??
-
To who brainiac?
-
Its not Clarks foot that is the problem.

It was Mitchie's second ever game. What did you expect?
-
I don't hate Spencer and yes he rucked all night and had a go. But he didn't get one hit out to advantage that I can recall. His marking around the ground is non-existent.

How is it we only had 75 interchanges? I though when you are a man down players need more rests not less?
