FFS the compensation is based on a particular draft pick. Where you finish on the ladder determines how valuable that pick is. It's not that hard and its an incorrect argument to bleat about Hawthorn getting pick 17 for Buddy and Melbourne gets pick 3 for Frawley. Stop it.

$$$$$$$$$$$ my gut feeling is that the Dees interest cooled when he rejected us last year. And with our young burgeoing mid it no longer fitted our plans to offer him a long expensive contract.

The UK is proposing a corporate tax rate of 15% down from the current 20%. We can only dream of such a tax rate.

My daughter was signed up in 1996 and got in last year as a restricted member - everything but the GF

Sure not all drugs are performance enhancing. Coke and ice are not supposed to be but players can run through brick walls and think they are bulletproof. That makes them performance enhancing in my book. As for weed well I have a simple response. It's illegal and they get paid well to play a highly competitive sport. If they want to indulge go find another career.

Really? So a 'Ben Cousins' type could pump himself up with steriods over summer and you would think that was OK? Or Justin Gatlin can do performance or body enhancing drugs so long as it wasn't during the Olympics? I think your logic is flawed there.

About being in the papers or the stupidity of taking drugs?

Interesting but useless fact. There are now no players names John in the entire list of AFL players

So I guess the question is should they get another chance? It just makes so much sense that they would be have learned a huge amount and would do things differently. IN the intereviews I have seen Sanderson has clearly done a lot of self reflection. I think he would be a good get.

I was really trying to equate it to life and didn't word it well. It clearly happens in areas like politics quite a bit. In footy I guess Norm Smith was rejected as coach of Melbourne and went to Fitzroy before returning to melbourne as a highly successful coach. Not quite the same but has some bearing. You're right though. Very few coaches get a second chance. Malcolm Blight might be one of them that was successful a second time around..

Surely Hunt Deserves a Rising Star Nomination

They should have a weekly award but everyone that fits the age/games criteria should be eligible for the award. It has morphed into the best 1st year player award which is not how it was brought in to the comp. It was all about the player that was most likely to become a star. -
I am a big fan of people who have been to the big dance (ie got themselves a senior coaching gig), been rejected and reflected on their own performance and then come back with some humility. He seems to me someone that would be significantly better the next time round as a coach (or assistant). Yes from me,

Our list has got younger each year of Roos' coaching.

Not surprised we ended the season with a whimper. There is a soft underbelly there and the selection committee IMO has not gone in with the best chance of winning for a number of games in the second half of the year. I guess that's OK if you are trying to blood players and we have been the youngest team in all our games bar one apparently. We have been the youngest team overall on 13 occasions. That bodes well if you believe that a winning team has to grow and build together. BUt its hard for supporters of a success starved team. Hopefully Roos has done what is right for the long term future of the club rather than tyring to protect any 'winning' legacy he may have. Nonetheless there is a nucleus of players to be genuinely excited about. We have grunt with Oliver and Viney but really need our class players to step up. Petracca, Salem in particular. Hunt has added a great dimension to our team and another one with genuine pace would be great. The biggest issues for mine are a supporting ruck for Max and a key defender. And if we can jag a skilled mid to complement what we have we are well on our way.

Roos agrees with me that the comp is flawed. Its a joke and needs to be fixed. -

Roos suggests Hunt could be in our top 3 or 4 in the Bluey............ -
Has he said anything noteworthy to anyone anywhere that is of use? Full of hot air pizz and wind.

It won't happen. The club would be insane. Great talent but we can't afford what they want and he cna't get on the park. The Dees have been pretty frugal with their picks and trades. Haven't got a lot wrong. No way will we entertain a trade for OMeara for a second.
