I can partially accept your viewpoint but it doesn't stack up. Why didn't they speak to and gain approval from the doctor? And even if they did (which they have never claimed) remember the 16yo gymnast who lost her gold medal at the Sydney Olympics for taking a panadol. It is no defence. You are in control of what you digest. Why didn't they seek external counsel like they are told to time and again? Why didn't they speak to a parent or close friend or manager? And if they did why did none of them raise the alarm? If I am an athlete and here the words "cutting edge supplement programme" and/or "black ops" my alarm bells would be deafening. Jobe might be a good bloke but he is a drug cheat. He should bear the punishment. The East German athletes had no say in what they were given. It is simply no excuse to blame other parties. Otherwise all of the tainted athletes would use that as their defence. 'My coach/Doctor/trusted team boss etc gave me the pills that he said were cleared by WADA' Sport cannot function that way. EFC guilty. Jobe guilty. AFL and sychophantic media appalling and disgusting support of drug cheating club. Brownlow winners: Cotchin and Mitchell

Bingo I don't know why people struggle to understand this. And the reason the 'formula' is secret is because players contracts are secret.
-
Agreed. Its formulaic.

No they didn't they awarded us a 2nd round compensation pick which because of our finishing position on the ladder ended up being pick 23. There is a big difference as has been discussed on here many times ad nauseum.
-
If he can play like he did yesterday he is a lock for our best 22. He was outstanding. The problem as has been discussed here plenty of times is that he has found it difficult to adapt to our game plan and change the way he plays.

Not sure you are right there DJ WADA said that the CAS panel found "to its comfortable satisfaction" that clause 11.2 of the 2010 AFL anti-doping code had been violated, and found by a majority that "all players were significantly at fault". -

The point is they took stuff and did not disclose it to ASADA. Either they knew what it was or they didn't. In both cases they should be banned for 4 years in my view. Cheating, stupidity or both. -

A lot are banned as they are not approved for human consumption. The risks of taking them are completely unknown. Athletes need to be protected against unscrupulous clubs, doctors and other sporting bodies. -
At the risk of stating the obvious, surely we would be looking at a Clarkson assistant that can bring intel about the Hawks game plan? His previous assistants have done well; Simpson, Beveridge and to a lesser extent Bolton. There are enough ex-Melb players at the Dorks we could snaffle: Neitz, Yze, Bruce to name a few.... Assistants are a great way to bring fresh new ideas into a club. Goodwin would know most of Egan's ideas, strategies if they have worked together. Maybe he rates Egan, and that is great but you can't do what Richmond have done and just bring in any old ex-player and hope that it works.

They would be the same people that were calling for him to take over from Roos this year after round 2.
-
Yes but I think you are missing the point of PJs comments. He was simply stating that we have handled the transition to the new coach better than Collingwood. Collingwood you will recall had a great deal of angst internally when the Buckley/Malthouse transition occurred. We have avoided this completely. Whether it is a good idea or not or whether Goodwin is a good coach are separate matters.
-
I think he has too much baggage.......
-
Well I disagree,. The context is what happened at Collingwood. ie unsuccessful transition/handover. This has been a successful handover. Whether he is the right coach going fwd is an entirely different matter.
-
PJ is simply saying the transition has been successful. That is fact. It has.
