  1. If Morton gets some more muscle on him(quite a bit more) he could hold down CHF. Maybe we should build up our recruits like the WCE do. Oops,I forgot that it is illegal!
  2. Just had another look at Tom Scully's highlights for Vic Metro v's South Australia and the more I see him, the more I am convinced he will be a magnificent pick up for the MFC.Fantastic in traffic, great motor, sensation handball and I'm sure his kicking will improve. Another player that flashed in and out of these highlights and looked pretty impressive to me was No. 6 for Vic Metro.Quick, hard working and looked an excellent kick. Excuse my lack of knowledge of the U18's, but who is this player?
  3. I would agree with this as a good choice. IMO as good a leader as he was it was a mistake to have Neita (a full forward) as Captain. He was often out of the play when we weren't playing well and therefore helpless to lead. I think captains should always be chosen from players that are likely to be in the thick of the action and I think Moloney would fit the bill well.
  4. While picks 1 and 2 seem a little clearer as to who the MFC might pick up,who do those of you that follow the TAC cup closely think would benefit the club at pick 18? Who are the best candidates? and What type of player do we go for?
  5. I would be happy for the club to pick up Trengove at N0.2 , but only if he changed his name to Trengrove!
  6. Interesting article by Jon Ralph on page 109 of today's Herald Sun.In the article he is bunging on how Richmond can't afford to win tonight so as to retain pick 3. He then goes on to say " Given Melbourne with picks one and two will probably take ..............." I would have thought the Melbourne V's St.Kilda game was still to be played therefore we have not as yet sealed pick one and two?
  7. What this recent ruling means is that taller players are no longer able to bump shorter opponents as there may be head high contact. Ludicrous overaction by the AFL.Franklin has been served an injustice.
  8. 6. Davey 5. Bate 4. Mclean 3. Rivers 2. Moloney 1. McDonald
  9. Dunn IMO has some good qualities.A couple that come to mind straight off are :He has a great motor and that he is a hard worker. With a bit more confidence I think he could be very useful in any future plans.Stick with him I say.
  10. He is skinny enough to fit perfectly into our line up. Could be semi "Delicious" at this stage.
  11. Grey U.S College style hoodies seem to be popular. Maybe with the MFC initials on the front?
  12. Does anyone one know if the AFL is persisting with the farce of having a draft WEEK where nothing basically happens until the last day and a half ? Far better IMO to limit the time frame to 48hrs. Any other "posturing" and "bluffing" can be done in private by the clubs prior to the trade period.
  13. Same.Totally agree with your call.
  14. Kelly came across as a bit of a "Tryhard" unfortunately. That voice was very hard to listen to and very robotic.Maybe that was just her TV voice however I hope she relaxes a bit and she may sound a bit more natural. Prefer commentators to be neutral aslo.
  15. I think Freo will be a pretty good bet against the West Coast.West Coast have a habit of manipulating things in their favour. Didn't it seem strange in the 90's when the Eagles recruits after one summer became massive.Compare that to the MFC recruits Morton,Watts and others over the years that have taken 3 or 4 seasons to bulk up. (WC coach a qualified chemist?) IMO the WC would give Carlton a run for their money when it comes to manipulating the system.
  16. Valenti is a good player unfortunately a little too slow for the AFL today.
  17. 3.Todd Viney (Toughness and work rate unparalleled) 2.Brian Wilson (Fought hard when players were falling to pieces all around him.Showed great leadership) 1. Stephen Tingay (Hard at it with smooth skills and athleticism)
  18. Martin looks a bit "pigeon toed" when he runs. I wonder if this affects his kicking?
  19. How about judging Jack Watts , Cale Morton and others of the same ilk when they have fully developed footballers bodies. Jack Watts is a beautiful mover ,extremely capable on both sides of his body and has excellent decision making skills that belie his young age. All of the above plus a full pre season next year and a more rigorous weights program = Jack Watts "Superstar of the future" Be patient people.
  20. I believe the thread is which Melbourne listed players supported the dees as kids.
  21. I thought we were only locked into the crap square logo by the AFL until the end of 2009 and the Demon was coming back in 2010.I know Jimmy is very keen for the Demon to make it's return. We should get this clarified by the club.
  22. It seems the Casey Scorpions have a decent list of non AFL aligned players.Who do you enjoy watching? Who do you think deserves a go at AFL level? Silvagni and Wall are couple that I rate as decent.
  23. Lyrics for "You'll Never Walk Alone" below: When you walk Through a storm Hold your head, up high And don't be afraid, of the dark 'Coz at the end of the storm Is a golden sky And the sweet silver song Of the lark Walk on, through the wind Walk on, through the rain Though your dreams be tossed And blown Walk on, walk on With hope, in your heart And you'll never walk alone You'll never walk alone Alone Walk on, walk on With hope in your hearts You'll never walk, alone
  24. Be good to get a couple of choruses of "You'll Never Walk Alone" going for Jimmy at the game.
