Mike Sheehan is average at best.

Hope Miller stays as I believe he is value to the team and shows good leadership to the younger guys barring his kicking. As far his kicking for goal goes I think he could give away the habit of continuously flipping the ball over in his hands as he is moving in to take a shot.This may be a nervous habit.He just needs to concentrate a bit more and have some expectation and confidence that the ball will go through for a goal.

Good post and I agree! IMO the reason the MFC hasn't won a premiership in the last 45 years is largely because of the way the club has been run in that period.For the longest time the MFC has competed in a professional environment(VFL and AFL) run by a bunch of amateurs. The Gin and Tonic swilling ,Pheasant Hunters from past administrations who thought laying money out on the likes of "Diamond Jim" Tilbrook or one or two other "marquee" players would bring instant premierships to the MFC , brains' were clearly scrambled by the affects of too much cigar smoke! This type of thinking permeated through the club for quite a period and greatly lengthened our run of failure.(Purchasing Templeton and Moore was another example of this mind set) Putting time and effort into your recruiting,development and club environment by rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty was certaintly not for these guys. Fortunately our administration now comprises of Jimmy,Cameron,CC and other like minded people who seem to know what it takes to be successful and are not afraid of hard work or making some tough decisions. A period of sustained success(inlcuding premierships) is very much on the cards for the MFC in the next period of our history IMO.

Sounds like a good idea to me! I'm also of the opinion Brad Miller is a decent , hard working player for the MFC.If only he could sort out his kicking for goal.

My view is not based on one game where he scored 5 goals but rather that he is a very good mark ,especially in packs and has a fair bit of physicality about him.He just needs a good run with injury. I'm not saying he's the answer up forward but rather a reasonable option in the present situation.

I'ts probably a maturity thing with him.IMO he has the ability ,but does he have the desire?

If Jamar can hold up physically ,I believe he can do the job of rucking and kicking goals up forward.

Would be a lot keener on him if he was a key position forward!

Great player to watch out at Toorak Park in the days when there was a great alliance between the two clubs.You could go out on the Saturday and watch Melbourne get flogged and then square the ledger on Sunday by watching a Prahran win. Sad to hear of his passing!

Here's my attempt at an answer: The term "next best" would mean the player that the MFC believe is the 2nd best player in the draft irrelevant of what position they play.This is largely a subjective opinion. My interpretation of this is: If Melbourne believe the 2nd best player in the draft is a midfielder that they will draft that player(regardless of how many mid fielders are already "in stock") or if the MFC believe Jack Trengove is the 2nd best player in the draft ,they will draft him over say Butcher even though there may be greater need for a KPP. That's the best I can come up with.

No he had dark hair and after some searching on the net I think he might be Andrew Gaff? Happens to be a Demons supporter.His name popped up often in the best for Vic Metro. Do any of the TAC cup experts on here no much about him?
