  1. Someone put it well on this forum "The players have improved, but the team hasn't". I agree. Our players seriously don't know how to work together, run together, shepherd. Look at the way we hot potato the ball around our forward line in hope someone will take the initiative to kick a goal. Look at Harmes dashing past his man inside 50 but delivering a shocking kick to no one in particular. The only thing that could be wrong with our supporters is that we don't react when we play poorly because we're so used to it. I don't agree on Stretch. He's quick but he was really costly towards the end of the game, he (and Harmes) can't handle pressure unlike Brayshaw. At least we can say that we've improved a bit by each year under Roos. Our current form doesn't worry me as much as the concept of us crashing to the bottom again in a year or two. And I think it's possible when you look at the fragility displayed in our last 2 games. And you just never know if other teams will find ways to get better and we'll stay out of the 8 for several more years
  2. I will. But I'm not a father Either the top level will be closed or the bottom level will be completely empty I imagine if we get flogged the players will conveniently disappear..
  3. Garlett's really started to spectate around contests lately. Defensive pressure has gone
  4. Well I've been second guessing myself since I opted out of the North game two weeks ago and stayed home for a family lunch
  5. Hope the trip west is a wakeup call of sorts. Whether that takes place before or after the game. I don't think Roos will wanna get flogged so it'll be interesting to see if we try to fight for a nil all draw (which is probably a good thing given our first quarters in the past few weeks)
  6. It used to be funny hearing the crowd react to our mistakes, now there's not a lot of reaction. In fact it was really quiet around where I was bar one guy who stood up and didn't even wear Melbourne colours. There's not of joy to be had for fans (especially when we don't even kick it long towards Hogan) and they are too used to the poor stuff that they just find it boring to get involved yet again.
  7. Same. You can feel it in the crowd too. I just didn't care when Carlton got ahead, I didn't find it surprising. Lucky we played a little good footy to not make it a complete waste of a day
  8. They don't look like they want the 'pledge per win' money!
  9. That title doesn't exactly deflect the blame. Sounds like it's Misson Impossible
  10. Out- Lumumba In- Jetta Why bother with any else now...
  11. How was McDonald pathetic today? Plus he's only 22, surely he's excused out of that group. I'm worried about Cross' form too. Fallen off the pace lately. I couldn't believe how many marks he dropped too, did he oil himself too much? I agree. I think Dunn and Garland's positions have to be examined over the offseason or at least our defensive setup. We're just not getting good enough performances 1-on-1
  12. 6- McDonald 5- Michie 4- Grimes 3- Newton- 2- Watts 1- Salem
  13. I didn't think it was awful today. Yes that's the area that's holding him back, but he can win plenty of the ball, play at either end or the ruck and run all day. He can will himself to contests when the game's on the line and take marks. He will be a match winner eventually Ok, I didn't mean to imply he's a greyhound, but he can find space, get it forward and can be a threat around goals. He's clearly a decent footballer who fills a position in our side that we need but has been held back (in favour of some less talented players)
  14. Just popping in to say that I wasn't surprised with the result. As bad as it was at least we made it interesting when 2 years ago we would've never been in the match. However it's appalling that we've fallen behind to 2 teams 76-2 and 62-9 in the past two weeks. Vince, Jones and Cross (butter fingers) gave us nothing in the first half, which was really disappointing. Stretch and Harmes have a lot to learn, when the pressure's on they are seriously liable with the ball in hand, this is a contrast to Brayshaw who gets better when the heat's turned up. Fantastic (and bad in a way) that Newton and Michie stood out. I seriously can't understand why Newton hasn't been selected for so many weeks, he's not the cleanest player but he provides us with outside run and as a link-up player as well as some clearances that we've been missing. STOP HANDBALLING TO PLAYERS' FEET OR PLAYERS ABOUT TO GET TACKLED. VINEY WAS A CULPRIT TODAY I'm [censored] off that Hogan went goalless for the first half. TODAY PROVED WE ARE CAPABLE OF BEING FLOGGED BY ANYONE AT ANY TIME, AND THAT WE ARE GOOD ENOUGH TO OUTPLAY JUST ABOUT ANYONE (the second one happens for a lot shorter though) Tom McDonald has the qualities of a star player. Also it was great to see Salem back, we've seriously missed him
  15. If only he'd dealt with it and sat out earlier. I can't help but feel he was under pressure to get out there each week after being made captain when the wise thing would've been to treat it early on. I commend him for that resilience somewhat but he was ugly to watch out there, especially in 2013. Despite my constant loathing of him throughout that time, what I can't doubt is his passion and determination. We've already seen what he can do from his early games so should he get some zip back in the foot it's not like he'll be a dud
  16. Given their patchy form I think Geelong could easily lose one in the last two rounds. Then again North aren't entirely safe in the 8, appears unlikely but still they have 3 tough opponents to face
  17. Will be surprised if he's in the mix when our midfield stocks are bolstered next season. Been decent in his past two games and he's the sort of player you have to give a few games (definitely not a good sub) to assess them. He was said to be a bargain when we acquired him but I don't think he's good enough to hold a spot in any side
  18. I dunno why everyone thinks we'll smash them. I wouldn't say we're a 10 goal better side than Carlton (we'll need to find 10 goals in the first place). I'll be disappointed but I'll be surprised if we're on top of our game, it'll probably be similar to the Essendon game (except hopefully we'll win by a few goals due to better accuracy)
  19. I was gonna say after last week, what's the point of having it if we aren't even gonna wear it.
  20. I'm talking about the telstra service that is limited to phone/tablet. Which is a service where you actually pay for AFL games, unlike Foxtel where you have to choose packages and pay $50 a month for a ton of stuff
