  1. Riewoldt's amazing, used to find him annoying but my admiration for him has grown in the past few years just due to how hard he works no matter what. Who'd think he's battling through an injury when he plays like the fittest guy on the ground.
  2. No one in the team is confident enough to be a real leader
  3. Exactly. We've endlessly tried, but failed to out-grind teams, especially good teams. We can play a quarter or two of defence and look in control but it just continues to fail us time and time again. What West Coast and to a lesser extent the Dogs have done this year should really be the blueprint, they have put teams to the sword with their exciting, fast midfield. We saw some of that against Geelong but most of the team our players are too afraid to even run off the mark
  4. We just don't know how to play with one another, we don't have chemistry. The talent is there but I feel like there are divisions in the playing group, between the talent we've got from other clubs, the guys who were there pre-2011 and players who've debuted under Roos
  5. Instead of kicking it into space for Garlett to run into goal we try stupid little inboard passes to Dawes (and sometimes others). He's not always clean but at least Garlett constantly applies pressure when he's near it. We completely misjudged the conditions today, it's very rare that a team handballs more than kicks in the wet but we managed it today
  6. We were clearly better under Bailey but we have to pretend we weren't just to hide the shame of sacking a coach off one game and receiving 4 years of prolonged pain
  7. "This game sucks" *Turns tv off* Takes phone out: *10 missed calls from Karmichael*
  8. I was there (for 3 quarters). Not a great game, very wind affected, weren't many standouts, Mckenzie and Riley were probably the best in the midfield. Toumpas was hit in the head during the 2nd and sat out the rest of the game, Fitzy also got some sort of leg injury that looked quite bad and sat out much of the game. Also Salem suffered a corked hip but returned, played more as a forward and was struggling a little. Jamar and Spencer were both fairly average, wasn't the best balance having both them and King out there in the wet
  9. Our players have no idea where to position themselves. So often when we should be moving it forward there's 4-5 of us bunched together in the pocket and no one upfield. I think we also broke the record for "Hospital handpasses" today.
  10. Gawn's ridiculous "holding the man". And Garlett's great tackle on Roberton unrewarded when he clearly dropped it. Players are less likely to be penalised when they drop the ball than if they hold onto it and take the tackle, it's completely stupid
  11. I'd rather he was honest and commented on the disgraceful umpiring (he has the money should he get fined for it)
  12. "At least the players are trying"- That's 1.5 years' progress.
  13. It'd be forgiven if he could actually coach us to victories with unwatchable rubbish. Time and time again we're left in the cold and wet after scoring half a dozen goals at the MCG (and leaking as many goals to the opposition in less than a quarter)
  14. Today confirmed that I can't stand Dawes. He is football cancer. Cannot continue to carry him, it's detrimental to the team. Statistically we had good players today but everyone made 1 or 2 crucial errors. THE UMPIRING IS NONSENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S FARCICAL!!!!!!!! THEY DESERVE NO RESPECT WITH THE CALLS THEY'RE GIVING. PLAYERS CAN DROP THE BALL WHEN TACKLED TO GET AWAY WITH IT BUT THEY AREN'T ALLOWED TO HAVE TO WIN THE BALL AND HAVE IT HELD TO THEM We did far too many short, sideways kicks and handballs given the conditions. It felt like rock bottom again today, seriously
  15. And they've only gotten better as the season's gone on. While the other 'contenders' Sydney and Freo have gone in the opposite direction. I hope the Eagles can knock them off in the West though and the Tigers may get close on Friday night
  16. When he does I bet Jeff Kennett will hop on board too.
  17. I like the perspective. There's been too much meddling with the game within that time frame, compared to other eras. Even though I watch a lot of footy and enjoy it at times, I definitely won't be quick to gloat about it to others its unknown to. I wouldn't even feel good taking someone to a Dees game.
  18. GWS are a joke wrapped in an orange blanket who keep as shallow into the west of Sydney as possible. And the Hawks in Launceston is the biggest home ground advantage there is, no one can even get close to them there.
  19. I agree that if we're gonna play Dawes he can't clog up the space that Hogan and McDonald could be using much more efficiently. Just have to accept he's not a goalkicker but more of a linkup player, as he proved v Brisbane
  20. Over the past 2 seasons our attendances have been impressive. Us and Richmond seem to have the best group of supporters. Even the amount of Hawks supporters on Friday night seemed suspiciously low, given their 95,000 members or whatever. Must be bored with winning.
  21. Yeah I've felt there must be a lot of that this year. I think Stretch is lucky or must be a big favourite of Roos, I don't think he's doing a lot to keep that spot in the team. Most annoyingly under Neeld Toump was given all those games when he was genuinely bad. 13th feels like a good accomplishment. It is a big game but even bigger for the Pies as they'll be fierce for a finals spot, as the Roos and Dogs will probably be in our matches after
  22. Toump's being hard done by from the selectors. He's clearly improved this year, two poor games put him out of the team but they were preceded by about 4 good ones
  23. Well if there were no rotations it'd almost seem like there are more players than usual, because there'd be no one in the process of running on/off. The cap being reduced to 80 and an abolish of the sub seems to be what's floating around. No matter what though it's quite clear that what the AFL's done has not had its desired effect, and it seems they're trying to dig themselves out of the hole by talking to the coaches about playing attractive styles of footy, which I find a bit pathetic
  24. Because the 120 cap has already seen the average score drop 7-8 points and teams be more conservative. There could be a tipping point, but I'm not convinced no rotations would have your desired effect. Also it'd be a headache for injuries/ruckmen. If it changes to 80 next year I'll be expecting more points to be dropped from the average score. I think having a cap AT ALL preoccupies the coach's mind and gives him a reason to play carefully. At least players would actually stay on the field after kicking goals though. Yes let's best end this even though we probably pronounce tomato in the same way
