  1. Sad, thought he had more to give but the Cats are probably after more youth given they want Henderson. Wish Frawley left earlier and we kept Rivers. Deserved to be a one club player, was one of our best in 2012 and we could've used a proper veteran around the club
  2. He played really well against the Dogs as the sub although that's probably the only time he's stood out. He's a hard tackler though and I think he deserves a game or 2
  3. Nonsense, I don't think anyone's judging HL on his possession count. Mostly it's his hospital handballs and constant running into trouble.
  4. Apparently it isn't true, the article has corrected that. It's not just available for Telstra customers. It's still annoying that you can't play it on a PC/gaming console though like virtually every other sport
  5. And one of the best crumbers in Garlett. We've got serious confidence issues with running inside 50 and kicking at goal. It's been the same for 2 years but now we have the players to kick the goals but a lack of confidence in players kicking to one another. The game has evolved and teams (most teams at least) are very quick and efficient in filling up the holes in defensive 50, the sideways stuff looks stupider than ever nowadays
  6. Might as well have a state of origin game on the day now or at least the VFL grand final (in the daytime, not friday night like they tried a few years back)
  7. If the horse hasn't bolted, the reins may be handed to Viney/McDonald/Hogan in 2-3 years
  8. Given people forecast it'd be 2billion max there'll have to be some catch with such ludicrous amount of bucks. Footy's value has doubled? Looks good now but I'm sure it'll cause some problems down the line. At least we have a Friday night game confirmed now though
  9. Same thing happened to Garland after he finished runner up in 2013 (3rd, 4th and 5th that year were Terlich, M.Jones and Sylvia!)
  10. I think Vince would be the frontrunner at the moment, not convincingly. Jones, McDonald, Hogan, Cross, Watts, Garlett, Dunn then Viney then Keep in mind Viney missed 6, nearly 7 full games. Gawn could probably fit into the 10 but he too missed 9 games.
  11. Yes, let the 27 year old who got a premiership 5 years ago develop. I acknowledge Dawes has improved in the past few weeks and lifted his work rate, I just don't think he fits in the puzzle with Hogan, as a traditional 2nd forward if there's better options as 2nd ruck. He received a lucky break to get back into the team in the first place with Hogan rested and Pedersen (who I think is a better fit in Dawes' role) injured. We can't afford to go too big in the forward line, look at the final Q on Sunday when T-Mac was in the ruck...
  12. Seemed an oddly confrontational crowd as I haven't seen any fights at the footy in the past few years. A reaction to Watts in the crowd is nothing new but the jeering he got when he got the ball in front of the dogs' members was pretty intense.
  13. I'm all for a curveball like that being thrown now with the addition of Dawes omitted to play McDonald as a forward/ruck
  14. It'll be a big call if Spencer and Jamar are both delisted/retired as we'd have to go out and look for a decent ruck. It looks like it's curtains for Bail, M.Jones, Terlich and Mckenzie but I'm not sure about anyone else at the moment. Based on selections this year there's a chance Toumpas, Fitzy, Riley and Michie will all go be it through trade or delisting but that bunch is worth persisting with more than the previous 4
  15. Bout time we went in with a healthy side Out- Sick players (rest) In- Casey This is how we'll line up: B King Fitz Newton HB Jamar O-Mac JKH C *Empty to reduce congestion* HF Tactical decoy pigeons F Scarecrow with Dawes' face on it FOLL Spencer Riley Mckenzie INT The guys who take the specky over Robbo, Toumpas Emg: Trumpet player, PJ, best Demonland poster
  16. He and Dean Margetts (number 6) are the worst or at least out of more experienced ones who always get games.
  17. Dawes, Howe and Lumumba in the leadership group but not Viney or McDonald. I don't believe in making guys leaders as a sweetener in their contract. How about you show you care about the [censored] club on the field first.
  18. Replace the word 'keep' with 'start'
  19. He's been more up and down than previous years and I have questioned his leadership at times, but it can be hard to grasp from the outside People were screaming for him to be the captain in 2012-13, so would it really achieve much changing it again? I see McDonald as a capable captain but not sure if he'd be ready or the process of changing again would help us. Even if there's a better option by no means is Jones undeserving. We could also go the way of co-captains which Roos started at the Swans (I think)
  20. Also worth mentioning is that I think we could've gotten even closer before 3QT. Had opportunities to be within 5 goals. Never have I seen a game where the tide has turned so dramatically. I'd take a guess that 22 of the Dogs' goals were scored in under 60 minutes of gametime
  21. We had so many tackles that went unrewarded yesterday. You can just drop or throw the ball as you please nowadays when smashed in a tackle. But of course the second an arm slips up to a player's shoulder it's too high.
  22. Couldn't get online much yesterday but thought I'd weigh in now. Firstly turning up to play like that's an embarrassment, joggers compared to sprinters. I think Grimes should've started as we needed a spoiler in defence. Lumumba played his worst game for us. Glaringly undermanned in the midfield without Tyson or Vandenberg. McDonald was probably our only highlight, him to the ruck was a great move (I recall he was recruited with that capability) as he showed a third way he can dominate a game (disposal permitting). He looks our best backup option. However as result of this we were far too tall in the forward line, Gawn was basically useless at the top of the square especially since we didn't kick it there, and Hogan and Dawes accompanied him in the 50 most of the time, as well as Watts sometimes. I liked the look of Harmes in terms of evasiveness and tackling, but unfortunately he severely lacks composure when kicking. Unfortunately for the health of the club, the 'duo of death' M.Jones and Bail were in a handful of better players who got us back in to the game in the 3rd. The team who was meant to be rebuilt on defence has now given up 280 points in 2 weeks. Not a good day at the office and I'm really unsure which way it'll go against Carlton next week.
