  1. No resentment towards Jamar. Played a role and most of the time did it reliably. He was on the decline but had to fill the spot till Gawn was right. Now we have to figure out if Gawn can build his tank to ruck 90% like Goldstein or if we will groom someone else to take 30-40% of the load
  2. I think Fyfe would've copped it from us given how skinny he was when he was drafted. He might not have reached this potential with us not to mention the WA factor
  3. I think he had a good season with a few poor games in there. 18th in the b&f reflects poorly as I imagined he'd be top 10. R23 proved that we may look beyond him at the selection table unless he really asserts himself on the game every week. GWS wasn't the best measuring stick but we looked good without him. Hopefully this season he can chip in with 25-30 goals next to Hogan Another year gone and now I'm willing to accept Watts' ceiling isn't that high rather than hope he has star potential
  4. That's 5 years without any Dees in there, hopefully at minimum one of Jones/Vince/Hogan can squeeze in next year
  5. That said though Martin was unlucky (Would've had him before Deledio)
  6. Never thought I'd see Jake Melksham and 4 years in the same sentence. Then I saw Melbourne though and it all made sense. He was in good form a couple of years ago but this year he tuned out like Carlisle and that's not a good trait to have if you're moving to the Dees. On a serious note though, put him up in the Demonland banner. Here's to what could be a painful 4 years of traffic in a thread under his name.
  7. I remember when Freo were in it 2 years ago there were already several Freo fans around Fed square on Tuesday of that week. And I also went to the parade and it seemed to be about 80% Freo fans who were going wild. With an equally loud Eagles base there too the parade will probably be bigger than usual
  8. Had high hopes and thought he'd give us an X-factor, started alright but his mind just wasn't with us for most of the season. I'm not sure he'd know the names of all his teammates. If he's not worthy of our best 22 next year he should just leave
  9. I think everyone at the club's off the clock now. You may see some videos emerge sometime in November, or sooner if there's a major installment in the future of women's footy
  10. So does Tippett's dropped sitter before taking two contested marks outside of goal range immediately afterward
  11. All effort but too many fumbles. Could've been such a good win. Hats off to the Swans
  12. Or Sylvia to Freo. Or Morton to West Coast. Are they ever gonna learn?
  13. It's great seeing Frawley fail. The Hawks don't know whether to play him forward or back now too. Wonder if they'll still back him next week. Lake was poor tonight too
  14. Was not expecting Watts at 18th. Seriously, below Lumumba? Below Salem? Did the club poll his games in the past week?
  15. But the idea of free agency comes from American sports who don't have compensation. It's not a well thought out idea to let teams have their picks pushed down just because another club loses (or willingly pushes out because they could get a bottom pick) a decent player. Although ironically it does make the draft more like a lottery
  16. Wow Viney's a chance? Just saw how many votes he had after Round 17.
  17. Here's a far fetched suggestion, how about the draft just isn't tampered with PPs or compos so it can be fair for all clubs?
  18. It was a pleasure to see your first season Jesse. Feels so good to know we have a star in the ranks now. Stay healthy and lead us to the finals please
  19. You could tell he's a guy plucked from the fringes because of his uncommon body shape for an AFL player, but in my eyes that was a promising debut, looks like a neat left foot kick (with no right, admittedly). As for Grimes, I thought he started poorly but was promising later on. I really doubted his ability to go upfield a couple of years ago but he looks like he wants to be out there, run and contribute. There's conflicting opinion about Grimes on this forum but I've seen signs this season that he's turned the corner and is fulfilling some of the hype surrounding him in his first couple of seasons. At the very least going forward he could be a depth player with some experience.
  20. Would've been cooler if I'd written it down and you folded the sheet
  21. I get that argument Most disappointingly was that it had to be R23 against GWS as that's a pretty big slap in the face to our members from the AFL. I recall..I think it was when the 2013 fixture was released, the club was vocal with disdain for the AFL after they scheduled a home game at Etihad when they had specifically requested not to be given one. However we were quiet the next year when we got another Etihad home game and I'm guessing it had something to do with the AFL handout we received beforehand. So you can imagine the club feels at the AFL's mercy now when it comes to scheduling, so I'm not sure if we can avoid another game there next year
  22. Will have to be Vince I think. Probably more consistent than Jones. Most interestingly will be seeing how Hogan is rated internally. He deserves to be top 5. McDonald and Cross looked like chances earlier in the season and Viney would be if he played a couple more games (Would love to see Viney win in 2016)
