  1. Happy with that, would also be happy with Parish and McKay.
  2. Just been watching Mckay's and Weideman's highlights for a comparison - much prefer Harry's. Not having seen these guys live it's hard to judge well. however this kid is clean at ground level, seems to like more body contact and being in traffic than Weed (Weed seems on his own a he'll of a lot in his vids - won't get that grace in the big league). Will take the 2nd ruck spot once he gets in as well. Looks a better frame to add bulk, yet bottom ager, scrapes in to this draft by a handful of days only - would probably go #1 next year if he was born a week later. May not be ready next year but gee a year of development and getting what should be next years best kid smells pretty good to me Unless he doesn't fit the no DH rule - I want this kid at 7.
  3. The actual quote from Misson Jack Trengove is going really well. Hes kept his work right up through the off-season and hell be doing a run with the group on Monday morning, as will Nathan Jones,
  4. ok just changed my mind.... i now want this kid!
  5. NFI.... Torn between the idea of parish at 3 and either Weed or McKay at 7, or Weed at 3 and Parish/Oliver at 7 depending on who's left
  6. Was helping out with Caulfield Grammars footy side a few years back - Bugg was captain, good bloke, good footy brain, good footballer. If my memory serves me well the Dees were big into him as a schoolboy, however GWS got first dibs as a preselection
  7. The good news is Jesus' second coming coincides with hell taking over, the Dees are coming back baby yeah!
  8. Nup..... Purely by name association. No Barrett's allowed, would automatically think of 'purple' every time I see his name and would need to cut my wrists multiple multiple times, I'm not ready for that
  9. Come on Sir Paul, your being sooo 2014 here. surely you realise it's all Toumpas' fault, oh and Kokkinakis b*nged Hogans girlfriend......
  10. No not Carlton people.... They gave away Kennedy for a midfielder....
  11. Played juniors at Hawthorn back in the day (under 15/17s and then they disbanded the 19s to start up the under 18 comp) was always amazed with seniors there - Dermie an Dipper especially - they would come down and train with us, then train with the 19's and finally with the seniors. Just running machines - would not stop. Were made for the era, High cruising speed and endurance runners, and just focussed. Have no doubt if they trained for today's footy, burst sprinting, that both would excel.
  12. Thanks Earl. I was trying to match the body shape - in the vid he reminded me of someone, not Kekka or Kink (although reminiscent of those as well) as you alluded to but rather the big Dipper. Just the tree trunk legs and lower core to match, he moves like my memory of Dipierdomenico. If he ends up with a Charlie after turning up for the free feed my (sad little Demon) life would be almost complete (would need a premiership or 5 to match as well!)
  13. Monster unit, might need to lay off mums lasagne over preseason though
  14. No, not again. Turned 40 this year - not sure if my ticker can do this again. Might need to pre-emptively book with a cardiac specialist....
  15. Disappointed for Dawes - best game I've seen from him - deserved A 4th even 5th goal, had his chances too. If Hogan isn't the best young KPF I've seen since Carey dominating as a 20 y.o. I'll go hee. Rising star locked and loaded after today
  16. [censored] can't stand Nth. Such a [censored] ant side that we continuously make look good. Really should be beating them comfortably. Brown, Thomas, Waite, Nahs and Co are not good footballers, yet we allow them to look a million dollars. [censored] frustrating
  17. 3 goals down - right in it now. Injuries to Brown and Hansen.Give it a shake boys
  18. still feeling ripped about him being pinged for holding the ball when Taylor Adams fell during the tackle and fully tripped him up. We sure do get some clangers from the umps (Watts being tunnelled last week and then getting done for high contact beggars belief as well)
  19. Looked out the back this morning to see 2 beautiful red and blue king Parrotts standing in my backyard. Guess it can only mean 2 wins on the trot, or possibly we're getting both Danger and Prestia. Or possibly could mean sweet FA. I'm going with the first one
  20. Hi hardtack - get your son to a sports doctor or a sports physio. You are right in the ED doctors don't specialise in the area. Medial ligs need time to heal, preferably in a brace to allow the ligament to tighten up. 3-4 weeks should see a return to footy for a minor injury 6-8 for a moderate one and longer again for complete ruptures. They inevitably heal well, however if not adequately braced early will always be a bit loose. Need to get an accurate assessment to determine how long it needs support for and then whether he will need to some strengthening work to regain lost muscle bulk from the time out. If it is a pure MCL there is no need for an MRI, however if there is any other damage or queries of other damage(meniscus/ACL etc.) MRI will show it up to determine the next steps
  21. Apart from Junior none on your list showed anything like Vince and Cross to warrant keeping them around to be the designated elder statesmen to guide the kids. Either their body was shot or they were brilliance without the substance. You need the substance to get the best out of the kids. And even then with Juniors hammy in his final year, his body was cooked too. There was an old saying that footballers are like sausages... When they're done they're done!. All those blokes were done. We needed a generational shift after 10 years of the same group under danners. It shouldn't have taken this long to start to turn around though (but that's another million page thread!)
  22. With a bit of luck we could actually go up one or two spots on the ladder without playing this week! If Bulldogs can do over the saints by enough for themto lose 2% or so we go up one. If the hawks can absolutely demolish essendrug by enough to lose 9% we go up one spot. Go Bulldogs, go Hawks ?
