Of course teams will improve due to unexpected or expected returns from certain players..but whether its due to Key position players' improvements..i doubt you can make that call..i'm sure there are many key position players that have had a bad season and the team has gone better..nathan thompson rings a bell. he didnt play last year and the roos played well. Q.Lynch also had his best season and the Eagles went worse than their previous season. I think a teams success is due to more factors than just one or two KPP players. And while you say Westhoff as an example, you conveniently left out Tredrea who was useless all year, yet Port still made the final.

Versatile is an over-rated attribute. It purely means that they haven't mastered the one position ala Voss, Buckley, Riccuito.

I disagree. I don't think getting in a couple of fights overseas should lose him captaincy. Ultimately, it's all about whether the playing group respect him or not. And clearly they do, and would play well under him. They are footy players for Gods sake, a lot of them are naturally aggressive so to expect them to be choir boys all the time is just unrealistic. I wouldn't want Bruce or Green as captain for the very reason that they just never would get in a fight. ironic.

quite simply, morton is too skinny to play just yet. That's my guess anyway.

I think Franklin deserves those odds. Hawthorn should win more games next season and Franklin could be pushing towards 90 goals next season with his rapid improvement. He will kick bags of 6, 7, 8 and probably have 1 game where he kicks 10 or more. 6 or 7 good games for franklin is 18- 21 votes right there.

I'm sorry but the fact that there is a photo of Moloney running means nothing. He has a groin related injury which means that he can most likely run in straight lines. If i see a video of him running side to side at 100% around cones..then im sold

There is plenty to get excited about with Martin. He played basketball for Haileghbury and was a star there before he went on to get into national teams. His first season of football he played 8 games in the VAFA u19 and polls 7 best on grounds to claim the competition's best and fairest. He moves very well, is very agile because of his basketball background. He also has a great leap and there are some things that football players will never be able to do without a basketball background. Basketball is very helpful. Martin will get a few games next year, irrespective of our injury list

if a club was to pick up pods..they would be getting at least 60 goals from him in a season. He would be the unluckiest guy to not play afl. He dominated/s afl listed players every week...i think he was at the pies..but he just matured later. stiff

there is a reason that Gaertner wasn't selected in the top 75 players today. He isn't worth it in the eyes of recruiters..and here you guys are talking about this guy being a replacement for Godfrey and this guy being a possible replacement for Neitz..If they were an outside chance to replace these players then they would have been picked up!
