  1. If Garry truly had the passion to coach he would have made moves towards it years ago, plus he is making far too much money doing the other things he is doing, and good luck to him for that.
  2. I missed it unfortunately so a brief summary would be appreciated.
  3. Cheers, gives me a 'good' reason to listen in.
  4. Does anyone else agree that Garland could be a real X factor for us up forward. He's got good height, decent pace and was originally recruited as a forward. He also has the benefit of having played good footy on some good forwards in his memory banks. With Warnock, Frawley, Rivers & Joel Mac down back he should be given significant game time forward of the centre in 2010. Hopefully they don't use him like ND did Brad Miller a few years ago chopping and changing him forward and back constantly. For mine that severely hindered Brads' development and dented his confidence...permanently.
  5. He's a hard man Beamer, not one to get on the wrong side of. His passion is obvious on the field and a few more little diatribes like this will certainly help the club eradicate the myth of being passion-less etc
  6. Are we not allowed, or is just a courtesy to the AFL and to generate additional interest for the club and game as a whole to keep it a secret until the time of the draft? I wasn't sure there was a rule as such preventing us from naming our intended target(s)
  7. What about Nicholas Winmar with pick 51? If ever there was an indigenous name synonymous with the AFL it's Winmar
  8. I believe correct grammar would be: Congratulations, you're awesome! Anyhow, carry on!
  9. Bradshaw is on hist last legs. 15-20 games over 2 years playing out of the goal square at best. Had to leave Brisbane though because 2 poor games and a Fev bag will see him finishing up his career in the QAFL. He would be superbly suited to Sydney. He could concentrate on playing the 12 games they get in NSW only and would be very dangerous on the small SCG. The Sydney option could prolong his career. He'll probably follow the $$$ to Visy though
  10. Next!
  11. At my behest, I believe the Dees with offer Ball 3 years on decent money, front loaded. Saints will offer 1 year on minimal $$$. That will potentially allow him to look for a move to Collingwood next year but playing 8 games in the VFL and minimal time on ground in the AFL will do nothing to lift his value in the market. He would be mad not to accept an offer with the Dees. The 3 years, while one too many IMO, will be offered to counter the carrot of maybe reaching his preferred destination in 12 months. I am certain DB and the footy department see his value as a leader and mentor to a young midfield group and that will be clear in their pitch.
  12. Funniest thing I have read all day!
  13. Agreed you could do a lot worse than Luke Ball for PSD pick 1
  14. St Kilda have done ok picking up recycled fringe players from elsewhere. Shneider Ray Dempster Not that i am advocating signing Luke Ball
  15. ^ Half of 1.2 million is 600K?
  16. Fev being on the table may see Hall end up at Carlton. With Fev available what's to stop the Dogs from balking on Hall to opt instead for Fev. That would leave the blues to snaffle Hall which might be enough to keep their window open for another year or 2 but they will have to contend with a super dangerous doggies team with Fev in the goal square. All in all though, here's hoping the Blues get the short end of the stick and suffer for it on field
  17. Mclean, Jones, Moloney. One of these 3 had to go, they are too similar and can't be played in the midfield at the same time. Hence why Brock was tried in the forward line towards the end of the year. If you break it down Brock was the right choice to move on. Of the 3: - Jones is the youngest. - Moloney kicks it the furthest - Jones & Moloney are both faster than Brock - Jones is seemingly the most durable (based on availability) - Moloney is the hardest - Brock may have been the most consistent over the course of their careers but Moloney went past him in terms of value for mine this year. Mcleans uncle and gradfather played for Cartlon and they would have splashed big $$$ for him and a cushy box stacking posiition at visy. Add to this Scully and Trengrove next year it makes sense to squeeze one of those 3 out. Davey on the other hand must be retained.
  18. I get the feeling a QB debut for JW was the plan for a while. I think for him to rech that goal however its likely he had to meet a number of check points. Check points referring not only to his footy but his school commitments etc... For example: Play 4 games for Casey Fitness to X level School progressing well (confirmed by parents/teachers) Exam study X hours per week etc etc These checks would have been done each week to ensure he did what he needed to to do play QB. Its an exercise of due diligence and I am confident it was followed and he is ready, willing and able to tear the pies a new one on Monday!
  19. Am I alone in thinking Robbo still has a few big bags in him? I am not talking about his lady friends either. I think he might surprise us, paerticularly next year when our younger players are able to sustain pressure for 4 qtrs and we are in more games right up to the final bell. I can see him bagging half a dozen on 2 or 3 occassions and helping us achieve 8-10 wins instead of 4-6.
  20. In - Robertson Out - Martin Miller stays in because of a god record against the pies. He dominated in the last meeting up until he knocked himself out on the HFF late in the first qtr. Bell is just regaining full fitness and should get a few weeks to prove his worth before being stamped. Cheney's chance will come, I would consider him coming in for Bennel this week.
  21. Could list space be achieved at the trade table? Maybe a premiership contender would consider topping up with Sylvia or Bruce? Best we could hope for would be 3rd round picks but maybe we could package them with a pick to obtain higher picks?
  22. Man it will look good when it ticks past 30,000. Fremantles will most likely be well about 30,000 but last i heard the Swans were languishing around the 17,000 mark. The Saints under 30,000 surprises me, particularly considering their start to the season. How fresh is this data?
  23. What about "AFL plays missionary to reposition Mission"
  24. Ugh, his girlfriend is from Perth...I hope she doesn't get wind of what Mitchell Johnson did last year at the request of his partner.
  25. No [censored]...It's still worthy of discussion!
