  1. Just until mid March and only to replace an injured/retired player Clubs will also be able to sign players via the rookie list between December 1 and March 15 to replace retired or seriously injured players. AFL brings in mid-season rookie draft for 2019
  2. Bad news, he's under the Saints program (not sure why though as he does play for Dandy which is in our zone) http://www.saints.com.au/news/2018-07-11/no-small-feat-for-biggy
  3. Matthew [censored] was a [censored] player
  4. So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye
  5. Assuming this goes down and then we do the Hogan deal which pick are we using to get May? a) Freo's pick 5 or 6 b) Freo's pick 10 or 11? Obviously b is much better because then we can use pick 5/6 on a top draft pick
  6. Cat 2 rookie (as long as he hasn't been playing afl for any junior clubs which he wouldn't have in Ireland)
  7. Reading this page gave me a headache but I think Viney qualifies because he hasn't played after July 1 and the seniors are in the finals. http://vfl.com.au/finals-eligibility/
  8. Mckenna - yes, playing for his career Pedo - will be his last year, thanks for the good times Johnstone - should get another contract
  9. Oh well, we'll just have to go on a Bulldogs run.
  10. You don't reckon they'd play him for a half to get some match fitness? (Albeit not sure that'd be that helpful to Casey).
  11. Geelong won't make up 13% and finish on the same points as us (because that means they'll drop a game or we win a game)
  12. Is he any good? Pretty hard to tell since he's barely played (for us and GWS)
  13. He'll need to wait for the dust to settle
  14. Has anyone seen the VFL game on channel 7 b/n coburg and werribee showing some of the trial rules? The expanded goal square looks ridiculous!
  15. I don't like the focus on percentage/a big win for this game. Let's just aim for the 4 points.
  16. That's why our club doctors earn the big bucks. Pressure on them to make the right call either way.
  17. Sun's on fire this quarter! (yes, the sun is a boiling mass of fire)
  18. Yep that's right. "Under the draft bidding system, all clubs have the right to bid for academy and father-son players in the draft but a club with priority over the player has the right to match the draft pick with their own draft pick or picks to achieve the points required to secure the player (all draft picks are given a points value)." https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/afl-draft-pool-drained-by-academies-20180502-p4zcxn.html Here's an interesting map that shows which clubs have access to what across Australia. I'm sure there's going to be some unfair advantages. http://www.afl.com.au/news/game-development/nab-afl-rising-star-program/nga-clubacademies Next generation AFL club academies – Victorian clubs region allocation Western Bulldogs – Western Melbourne, Wimmera, Mallee, South West Victoria, Ballarat, (North Ballarat Rebels & Western Jets) Essendon – North West Melbourne (Calder Cannons), West Arnhem (NT) Melbourne – South East Melbourne (Dandenong Stingrays), Alice Springs (NT) Collingwood – Central Melbourne (Oakleigh Chargers), Barkly (NT) St Kilda – Inner Southern Melbourne (Sandringham Dragons), Frankston LGA North Melbourne – Melbourne and Wyndham LGAs (Calder Cannons & Western Jets) Hawthorn – Eastern/Whitehorse LGAs (Eastern Ranges), Gippsland (Gippsland Power), Katherine (NT) Carlton – Northern Melbourne (Northern Knights) Geelong – Geelong /Hampden (Geelong Falcons), East Arnhem (NT) Richmond – Goulburn Murray, Bendigo, Sunraysia, North Central (Bendigo Pioneers and Murray Bushrangers)
