Jesse Hogan on the way out at Freo?
I'd love to know the real reason Melbourne and Freo cooled on Jesse. Other than he likes his partying and needs better off field dedication. Oh well, will have to wait for an Open Mike special in 20 years.

Adam Treloar
I meant more at the negotiation stage when the contract is first being worked out. I guess player's agents will usually always push for lots more money, even above market value, which is why it's impressive when some clubs get their existing players to accept slightly less for the greater good (Hawthorn during their flag years, Geelong.. and Richmond now?)

It's ironic that individual player's greed for a lot more money ends up crippling the very club they play for and the chances of a flag. Players talk about how important team success is but then they jeopardise this (I'm sure they can still pay their mortgage and look after their family on say 900k a year compared to 850k)

Trade Targets
Those clubs will sign those players to their main list rather than risk losing them though. Maybe the bulldogs were ok with that defender leaving under this rule as he's not that good.

I disagree that players that have won flags have any less hunger than those without. Exhibit A - Richmond.

Trade Targets
Shows the risk with long deals. Tmac, Polec etc. When did Treloar sign a new contract with them anyway?

Free agency - the rich (clubs) get richer
Off the top of my head this how we've fared under free agency: Players lost - Frawley, Sylvia, Moloney, Rivers Players gained - Tomlinson, Byrnes Compensation - Pick 3 (1st round) for Frawley, Pick 23 (2nd round) for Sylvia, Pick 48 (3rd round) for both Moloney and Rivers (We diluted this compon by stupidly bring in Byrnes the same year) So even though we've lost some decent players we've probably drawn even by being compensated fairly well, pick 3 for Frawley being the best example.

Kade Kolodjashnij on Battling Concussion
Don't think so. But with question marks over this year's draft surely taking a chance on a recycled player is better than wasting a spot.

Finals: Week 3
Am I the only one who dislikes Richmond more than Geelong?

Kade Kolodjashnij on Battling Concussion
With pressure on list sizes why would he stay on the list after a payout?

I knew I should have changed my tip when I saw the weather forecast.

Rhyce Shaw takes extended break
Sad situation. There was a thread on this on Bigfooty a couple of weeks back. Normally Bigfooty rumours are pretty trashy but looks like someone had a connection with North on this. The media would have been all over it as its hard to keep things like this secret, Caro even mentioned it the other night on Footy Classified with a bit of a freudian slip.

Lynden Dunn has Retired
All the best Dunny. Wasnt he pushed out because he couldn't or wouldn't adhere to our "structures"?

Revamped VFL
Hopefully it's just 16 rounds next year because if question marks over Covid, bit goes back to the same amount of rounds as the AFL from 2022.
