If we're outside our window aren't we better off getting a youngish forward (aged 20-35 would be perfect) who will be part of our finals in 2-3 years after our mini rebuild? I guess none wanted to come to us but surely there's a few high potential developing forwards in the twos of other clubs.

People are rating Flanders based on this year (B rating) rather than last year (A rating). He had his back injury this year so if he comes to the Dees I'm confident we'd be getting a great player.

On paper JUH sorting out his off field problems and getting back to 40 plus goal seasons (43 goals last year) is a better long-term option but his chances of getting back to that are probably less than 10 per cent.

Is there any chance of us ever picking up a decent free agent? (So we don't have to give up draft capital). We got nothing after 2021 (except for Dunstan!) yet after Brisbane's recent flag they're about to get Allen and Draper (after they previously got Daniher for nada). After 11 years of free agency it seems the best we've ever bought in is Tomlinson, who was only a decent role player.

Me too. I was surrounded by many arrogant Hawks supporters in the 80s growing up. I can't believe they're back in the hunt so quickly.
