  1. Or maybe it's because all humans are different and respond to stressful situations differently? Just putting this wild, crazy idea out there... The other wild crazy idea is that the Essendung supporters could be full of crap.
  2. That settles it. Howe and Pick 6 to Hawthorn, in exchange for Pick 18.
  3. Maybe instead of "spunjy", he should have been called "spunky".
  4. I think you've misunderstood what "serious" means.
  5. Wondering if I'm the only one who had to Google it.
  6. I willfully ignore it. I can only assume the club knows what it's doing in that regard.
  7. Pick 25/28 seems like a bargain for an established player to me. Reckon people way, way overestimate the value of draft picks.
  8. So they can complete the set of modest players? Anyway, both Grimeses live in Melbourne. They probably unite every weekend at their parents house for a Sunday roast.
  9. It's their first two picks and a promising young player. It seems cheap on paper, but practically speaking it's hard to see how they could have offered up any more. As a neutral supporter I think it's a good result. Edit: The alternative was to spend time negotiating with picks they didn't have yet, then have to trade to get those picks to give Adelaide. That would have held up the trade and probably held up every other trade. I'm glad both clubs took the sensible and practical approach and got the job done early and fairly.
  10. It does. It probably doesn't matter though since we're not tight for cap space.
  11. LOL. I'm hoping to have the issue of the site falling over sorted before next season.
  12. 10 games in 3 seasons. 4 this year, 0 last year. If he hasn't been injured, I'm tipping this guy is another Michie/Newton/Riley. Edit: I see he was injured last year. Still, regarding this year, I believe that if the player is good enough, they can force their way in to sides. Hawthorn used plenty of their VFL players through the year and this guy was clearly a long way down the pecking order. Recent experience has made me very wary of taking players in this position.
  13. Love that a player who chose to come to Melbourne specifically, turns his nose up at the idea of going to Carlton or Essendon. :D
  14. Victim of footy supporters seeing everything in black and white. If you are not a star, you must be a dud. Awful footballers just don't play 150 games.
  15. Alternatively, Tom Mac. Has the pace and durability to run any defender off their feet and can take a grab. The biggest question mark is ball use, though given the way that defenders are required to attack now, I can't see that being any more of an issue than it is as defender.
  16. What always suprises me is how often dangerous small forwards are left to their own devices. Rioli in the GF was an extreme example, but we saw it a lot with Garlett this year - he'd get the ball in space with nobody near. I'm not complaining now that we've finally got a small forward on the list to burn teams. We also have Jetta specifically for the job of making sure small forwards can't just do as they like.
  17. Okay, it's fine to get one. It's not okay to post about it. Can we drop this now?
  18. It's a fine line between constructive discussion about a player's weaknesses, and blatantly making stuff. In the same way that the Grand Canyon is a fine line.
  19. Hey, this thread has a poll! I vote 'keep'.
  20. I agree. It's a little from column A and a little from column B - Roos and co went after Brayshaw and said seeya James, but if Frawley had said "get me re-signed ASAP" to his manager in February they wouldn't have gone looking.
  21. Well said. Despite being on the extreme other end of opinions on this, his re-signing doesn't make you wrong or us right - we're all just mugs on the outer, forming our own opinions, influenced by our own biases and seeing an incomplete picture. That's what makes forums fun. Needless to say, I'm really pleased for Col and glad the club has backed him. Loved that quote.
  22. It's not OK to get a boner over Hogan. I hate reading garbage like that and normally delete it - left that one there to make a point.
  23. lol. Richmond can be as 'interested' as they want. Honestly, I love this time of year, but some of these things that come out are just plain dumb. There are so many dimwitted footy fans out there that reckon clubs bandy player names about is if they're playing cards. There is absolutely no way in the world the club would be interested in trading Tyson after the lengths it went to get him here, and I'd be surprised if Richmond even wasted their time enquiring.
