  1. He isn't, it's dribble. It's a measure of how good a player Jesse will be. Every other club would be scrambling to do the same thing if they had him.
  2. I'll be honest, I always find it really disturbing when people reveal that they got a boner over footy related things.
  3. It's because I have God mode enabled on my account. I wonder if the software allows the lesser mods to swear? Grapeviney, H_T, Dr John?
  4. I doubt ProDee needs it explained to him that people get it wrong sometimes. Nonetheless, I don't think we have with Fitz.
  5. Still sounds like serious hyperbole from Gossage though. Gossage is the typical hanger-on that the AFL is full of - peripheral commentators who have to say big things to remain minutely relevant.
  6. It also won't happen. His best is behind him and his body is battered.
  7. Saw it on a Facebook trade page. You might as well have just said "I made this up completely". It might not be your fabrication but it's certainly someone's. I really doubt the club is looking to trade Dawes.
  8. Hah. Yep, I always link the two in my mind too.
  9. Ditto. To me, stuff that happened decades before I was born makes for interesting history, but that's it. It's definitely not worthy of bragging rights. We're currently desperately irrelevant while the Hawks are cleaning up. I find it cringe-worthy when people bring it up as if it matters. Reckon if I tried to lord this over my Hawthorn supporting mates I'd have to perform CPR on them after they died laughing.
  10. I see. Presumably if Geelong are in a position to do that, Adelaide would be too?
  11. What would they gain out of doing that when they've already pretty much convinced the player anyway?
  12. How about the hoof from Kent to Garlett on his own in that first one? On the footage it looked like a kick and hope until you see Garlett all on his own. Would have been an exciting passage to see live.
  13. lol @ listing the banner as one of the reasons for playing crap in the grand final.
  14. West Coast fielded Sydney's 2014 Grand Final team. Fell to bits as soon as Hawthorn got on a roll. I could have suffered a Hawthorn win if there'd been a contest, but it was just another boring game of footy. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
  15. Reminds me of 2014, and 2013. Wouldn't mind a contest for once.
  16. Agree. I sound like a broken record on this, but I don't get the fascination with how much players are paid. Who cares - whether we pay Howe $300k or $400k isn't going to make one jot of difference to how good our side is - nor does how much Dawes is paid, which is another one fans like to bring up. What we get in exchange for Howe though is another matter.
  17. Hawks up by 40 at half time Nasher turning the TV off and putting some music on instead.
  18. I'd be amazed if someone does, and not just because of tunnelballgate.
  19. We don't "keep" paying out contracted players - when was the last time we actually did it? The last time I can think of was in the Bailey era when we delisted and rookied the Meese and Juice Newton. I wouldn't push for it normally, but as I said, it's just a complete waste when the coach clearly has absolutely no intention whatsoever of picking him. Even rookie listing him would be a waste - we could miss out on another Harmes or Vanders by doing that. I also doubt player managers or other players would care much. They will see it for what it is, I would expect: the club correcting a mistake it made a year earlier.
  20. Great development story I reckon. Worked his way up from the VFL dev league, to becoming a VFL seniors regular, to (by reports) consistently playing at a level above VFL seniors leaving them no choice but to pick him. He was given time to quietly and steadily improve, without being put under any pressure or expectation, and he did so. A very satisfying outcome for me. I just love the story too. A kid growing up as an MFC supporter, gets drafted on to the rookie list, works his arse off to get in to the seniors team, and plays as if every touch might be the last. It's like he's living the dream of half of Demonland. The next step is to keep improving and turn in to a consistent AFL half forward/midfielder. There's plenty to work with and he has a likable persona, so I hope he can. (How good is the calling from Huddo?)
  21. While I'm no fan, I wouldn't have expected 0 games when so many other players in the same boat played plenty. He the only player on the list not to play excluding projects and the long term injured. As I said in the contracts thread, you've got to pay him regardless, so if we've no intention of playing him, give him his cash up front and free up the spot on the list.
  22. The Demonland members who have been around a while may feel that this exercise has been done before.
