The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
Cheap Seats replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
Just for some perspective the same [censored] that said Jesse's value had diminished also said the dogs were no chance tonight. Guess it comes down to not listening to flogs -
That has Richmond written all over it... pay an injury prone mid 800k a year and give up the next buddy at pick 6 Oh richmond

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
Cheap Seats replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wowee will be an exciting trade period ahead. While i would rather keep jesse as talented kpps don't grow on trees, let's hope at least if he makes it known he wants to leave we respect it and get s good deal -
The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
Cheap Seats replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
Which was raised and argued by a biased WA [censored]. Anyone who thinks a 21 yo super talented kpp has lost value haven't got opinions worth listening to. The short term fixation is ridiculous -
Most intelligent people realise the afl is not even. Age and conditioning play a massive part in outcomes. Im not going to pretend i know afl conditioning but i think its a safe assumption unless you're already elite most players would take a year or 2 to condition for a full year. So as a fun exercise go run a couple kms a day for a week or 2 and let me know if you tire out by the end of it. Maybe then you can put some perspective in your dribble You even admit it in your comment that we were not funals standard

Scott Thompson - Would we welcome him back?
Cheap Seats replied to The Backyard Charizard's topic in Melbourne Demons
I wouldn't be against this move. No harm in having a Cross type role player with such a young list. It would all come.down to ability to get a deal done but it's a yes on face value from me -
Surely Hunt Deserves a Rising Star Nomination
Cheap Seats replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
While i agree with everything you've said Barass did have a gr8 game. Included something like 15 spoils and 1%ers whatever that means. But one good game vs a good body of work from our Hunty... I'd definitely say robbed. I'd easily say he deserved it over a few others, including our own -Harmes and O Mac... -
Surely Hunt Deserves a Rising Star Nomination
Cheap Seats replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Very Unlucky not to get nominated this year. Has been one of our better young talents. A great little find Had a great year, lets hope this inspires him to build on it for 2017 -
I've gor no problem with your point or the discussion, i was just commenting about some statements. I don't think anyone on our list is capable of what your asking at this stage (I've got hope one or two young blokes can step up) I am still unsure why this makes n jones a bad captain. Do we expect him to be Selwwod or Judd to be a good captain? I hear what you're saying though the onfeild leadership is lacking at the dees. But there is no instant fix. We have to go with what we have we cant subsitute in leaders and we have to develop our ownnwith what they have until better leaders emerge. That's why I think (some.statements made in this thread) being critical is a bit over the top... We can only work with what we have. Fwiw on Saturdays I did get some enjoyment of our lads taking to selqood and danger. And n jones taking out Ruggles.... at least that was something. From the start of the game u could see the boys were off. I cant describe it but Viney juat seemed off in the centre bounces... it was a bad day all round
-
Wow.... this is the Demonland I like... vitriol and delusion I'll start by saying the attack on our captain is unwarranted and pretty poor. At least go and do some reading on what leadership is before making it a final conclusion or even try to acknowledge that consistently through out the year Jones and Vince were our only senior leaders all year. But anywho... don't let sense get in the way of a good ol whinge sessions. Against my better judgement of not wanting to get in to a prolonged yawn fest - I am going to stick up for Nat.. Being the only real senor body to play in the team all year, take the Burdon of the captaincy, to not be Dangerfeild or Slean or Selwood and to play in positions to fill our teams needs rather then chasing his own stats I think is a pretty solid year. I don't see him winning the Bluey this year, and I don't know his role(s) given by the coaches but he wasn't our worst and cleaned up Ruggles in the last game as well. It's hard to make an accurate judgement on Jones as I can't say I know exactly what role he played for the majority of the year. He seemed to switch from the middle to the HBF. Yes we finished of the season poorly, but so did Viney, Garland and a few others who were leaders as well. I don't see them being critised for poor leadership. it's hard to know exactly his impact on the boys if you're not one but N Jones doesn't deserve to be scorned for his year

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
Cheap Seats replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't understand the panic with Jesses contract. At the end of 2017 he will be a RFA and another club will need to trade for him anyway. Unless he requests a trade i dont understand all the fuss. -
When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
Cheap Seats replied to praha's topic in Melbourne Demons
Non Dees related but a non the less embarrassing record. Are the Tigers on track to beat our 186 at the cattery? -
I reckon its the worst game I've ever seen him play today... In saying that he's a young kid carrying a big load, pretty much our No.1 now. Another year under the belt will be good for him
-
You could clearly see that today. Thanks for that info Ethan - I am disappointed how the farewell game went for Roosy but it was the worst game I've seen from a couple of lads. Viney being one of them (I feel I can point him out as it will echo my point) We played an experienced finals team today - that is no excuse but our young blokes and the team had the que in the rack today. Just not fit or old enough to comete today I am putting the emotion aside on this one... lets just move on to 2017..... Lets hope we can move on from this lack of experience and conditiong
-
We really should just close this thread, forget this game and move on to 2017. Nothing was gained from playing thr cats today apart from reality check. Need more leaders need more maturity. Move on nothing to see here
-
Worst gsme I've seen viney play
-
Stop watching now peeps We haven't turned up at all Soft lazy footy. Which is disappointing for Roosy last game

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
Cheap Seats replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
I like you're line of thinking 55. Is there a chance though that some of those players would find other positions. VandenBerg comes to mind as one who is a mid but is forced to play hff. I wonder if others like harmes and salem as an example would be forced to.move positions. I think Roos and Goody are massive on players who can play multiple positions. But in saying that it might be a reality that we have to trade some.of our young brigade (which i dont like.at first glance) to bring in experience to be able to tke the next step -
The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
Cheap Seats replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
How about we trade Jesse for Shuey and Gaff ..... more entertaining thennthe current line of convo haha -
Nah too much risk for the asking price.... I like these Mitchell rumors better. Need something after Saturday to keep me going
-
I dont know the exact rule in this situation but he would be delisted by the end of his contact (oct 31) Being delist he would need to meet the definition of a free agent (which he will not) The only way he could be picked up then is via a draft either national or pre season
-
While i acknowledge my opinion is no more right or wrong then yours, i have met boomer on a couple occasions and he's a ripping bloke. Now i have no idea of thst makes u a great leader, there are ppl at theclub that will determine that. I don't see him playing on but if he did and if he choose the Dees I'd be pretty wrapped to have him
-
Yea i agree am unsure if we could afford what the tigers wanted.... potential a future 2nd round pick??? We need some outside class and if he is available would be worth a look
