I completely disagree with your last statement. I've said this earlier but this thread is too long.. only wce or freo finnishing last could affect the compensation. Plus do you really think the rest of the afl wouldn't stand up to the afl if we got dsrling and a pick for hogan a 22 yo super talented kpp. It would be robbery and completely unfair advantage You are entitled to your opinion but trading hogan now shows we are weak and players forever will be gettable. -

There is no evidence anywhere thst could confirm or deny that statement. The mfc position is we want to keep him. I dont see how trading him achieves that -

Im pretty sure Scully got offered a contract that no other club could come close to affording which would influenced his decision significantly. Which is another arguement for another day on how the afl spoon fed their baby gws with a massive advantage in a huge salary cap Every situation is different. To simply say he's gone and we need to trade him based on those prior situations is stupid and lacks any sensible thought. On a probability scale he is probably more then likely will leave but it's simply a guess at this stage. I accept opionons but accept my counter offer of wanting to talk with facts. Until he says he's gone this trade talk is absolute rubbish and shouldn't and wouldn't be considered by a professional organisation who wants to promote good culture. Leadership will be important in his decision on and off field at the dees and how we as a club handle this situation. This will drag on for 12 more months i have no doubt. And he will cost whoever wants him dearly. -

Scully left for money and maybe (success, stability, professionalism whatever u want to call it). Hogan is family related. How are they the same situation? They are completely unrelated Even if Hogan has made up his mind to leave like you poorly try to point out, unless he says he wants to leave he isnt going nowhere End of story -
Its hard to say if they're any good but i wouldn't mind seing Daniel Cox at the dees. Speedy small looks ok Will be interesting to see what happens

Mayne is rumored to have been offered 4 years by the pies as well

Thanks ProDee Love this sort of info especially if it talks us up haha. But in all seriousness little snippets from player managers are way more bankable then whispers from the media Thanks again ProDee - it's why I keep reading this site

In theory you don't have to hold out, you just can't announce it until October 2017 Which I guess is what you were also saying haha -

You can't ask a player to be loyal by giving him an ultimatum. You show him support and loyalty Loyalty and Respect are earned through actions - Business like personal life are about having good people lead the club. Who's to say he hasn't already made up his mind to stay but is home in WA for the offseason with his family and doesn't want to talk shop. Why is that less plausible then you're take on events? It's all speculation, speculation you are pushing that he is gone. I have no idea what Jesse wants, I just want the club to stay strong and show leadership (which to this stage I think has been happening) And as I've said multiple times, if the world does end and Jesse says I want to go back to WA so what if it's in 2017. Showing him loyalty and respect will be seen in the AFL circles and mean that Jesse is more likely to help us get fair compensation. Also it shows the league we don't abandon our players etc etc I am not having a go at you Pickett, but you are a ring leader in the narrative to cut our losses now and trade him, which I completely disagree with -
Sounds good to me Redleg I'm just passing on Trade Rumors - or am I doing it wrong But in all seriousness I can't see it happening.....

So based purely on your own opinion the MFC should cave and trade him now. Cool story... I don't care that you have an opinion on the matter Picket but let's not get carried away with as being fact -
I agree with that Ethan But interesting times for a few club including ours. I'm pretty sure the media make up crap to be able to write stories. there are a few (Anderson, Robbo, Stevens, denom) who may hear a few whispers but generally have no idea and make it up

Absolute Rubbish All I am reading from your post is I don't want my pea hear broken again, like Scully of Frawley (which by the way netted us Hogan and Brayshaw) How about we stand up as a club and support players, create a environment people want to work at. Show some strength. The media and people like yourself like to jump at shadows and create stories, narratives and turn rumors in to fact to give substance to your stupid points. Jesse may decide to leave after his 2017 contract expires, but that is no reason to turn on the player now. We want a professional club and to be a destination club as has been mooted on this forum a lot. Treating players like commodities is not the way to do that. jumping at media speculation is no way to do that. Supporting Jesse and his family, creating a good environment to play at, and accepting any decision he makes and supporting it is the way to do that. In all of the scenarios you've dribbled on about there is no difference in trading him in 2017 then there is to caving and trading him now. Where's Jesse going to walk to in 2017 Pickett if the MFC refuse to trade him? Brisbane, Roos or Tigers? Hogan is super talented KPP from interstate, He's not the first and won't be the last to have huge speculation about him. Pav immediately comes to mind. If clubs do the right thing and offer a future players stay. We need to make that stand of supporting players not folding to pressure. Going over old ground again but IF he does leave, the MFC will move on and be well compensated. But only when Jesse decides should it be done. -
Venom Denom reporting De Goey from pies may be gettable. Young talented mid. Probably will cost. Very unlikely to be a dee with no 1st rd picks

Cheap Seats replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
Let's be clear here. The only way Jesse will be traded is if he comes out and says i want to go back to WA. The only scenario i can think of that Jesse requests to go home and we dont get fair value (at least 2 high first rounders) is if freo or wce finnish last in 2017 and he threatens to walk. All else is white noise -
What's happening with Barlow? Will he be delisted? I cant say i know anything about his situation

Cheap Seats replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
Nothing has actually changed except ppl finally realise that freo aren't the only wa club involved interested. What a massive surprise wce are interested. Mind blown I hooe he stays but if he does decide wa his place to be (which is weak as....) we will get well compensated. As i said id rather him stay talented kpps dont grow on trees, but 2 clubs to bargin with are better then 1. We might actually get that elite mid afterall. One thing i do trust is our fd team. They've done a ripping job the past few years. Has been first clsss recruiting and list management Will be interesting to see how it all plays out -

Super talented Unfortunately can't get on the park.... even as a dfa I'd pass

The wife basher Stevenson from port as well went into the draft. 2000ish
-
Scott Thompson - Would we welcome him back?
Cheap Seats replied to The Backyard Charizard's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm not against it. Can't say im super excited by thr prospect but as a coah/mentor i think Thompson would def add value. And it's kind of poetic, it wasnt long after he left things started to spiral at the mfc. So maybe by him retuning it's some.kind of complete circle and the mfc can move on to bigger and better things as a club. Or maybe i need to lay off the booze... or get.more im undecided -
Love that there are little to no leaks coming from the club. Shows we really have a professional unit at work. But god damn its boring as the proverbial.... haha
