  1. Just letting Jong know he missed an easy shot and testing out his shoulder. Hopefully it fired the boys up a bit. Dunn was good that quarter. Unfortunately the midfield didn't work hard enough and got found out for speed. Going to need to close down the corridor and start getting some decent link up and actually hit targets.
  2. Casey lucky to be this close as Doggies inaccuracy costing them. Casey 2-1 to Bulldogs 2-6. Doggies owning the corridor and moving it quickly. Midfield will need to slightly adjust at quarter time and close up space a bit
  3. Yep. Thank god. He's a superstar in the making and we need him firing today to win. Dogs look to be linking up better across the ground but our defense is holding up.
  4. Don't think Gold Coast will be after picks. They already have 5 in the top 30 and will likely get more for O'Meara, Prestia and potentially Swallow leaving. They have stated they need ready made players not more picks. If anything I think they will be trading some first round picks for players/packages of players and other picks.
  5. Luke Parker as the only competition for Dangerfield and his teammate Josh Kennedy as the smokey.
  6. GWS will likely win this now. Doggies 17 inside 50s for 2 goals. GWS 7 inside 50s for 2 goals. You have to score when you have that kind of momentum or you lose like we did against the Eagles.
  7. Good to see Alir is alright. He's a really good youngster who seems like a humble guy with a good story.
  8. Heeney brilliant again. Took on two guys bigger than him and won. He's the best young mid since Judd IMO.
  9. Game over. 7 goal lead in under a quarter, the Swans are the best defensive team in the league and could just shut up shop and hold them off from here. Amazing quarter by the Swans, horrible from the Cats. Dangerfield 11 touches and zero influence on the game.
  10. Pathetic set shot by Selwood. The Swans midfield is just so good. They've got hard ball winners and good runners too. Kennedy and Parker are just perfectly rounded midfielders.
  11. Jeez Heeney is a gun. If only we'd landed him!
  12. Thought this would be a tight low scoring game, but the Swans are absolutely destroying Geelong. They've already given themselves a big enough lead to win in under 10 minutes!
  13. If you go by previous media reports he was lined up for 800k a year and the length was the sticking point. You'd think he was on close to that, Brisbane don't have many other decent players and need to pay a minimum salary cap, similar to us a few years ago when many players were earning more than they should have. Either way he's a decent footballer. It I'd steer clear. There should be better targets out there for us.
  14. He does have attitude problems for sure but it may be to do with his salary. I imagine he is one of, if not their highest paid player. I imagine clubs don't wanna take his contract, likely 700-800k onto their books. He's a good accumulator, but he doesn't have high hurt factor. If he didn't have such a high salary I imagine a lot of clubs would be jumping all over him.
  15. Will go to the Lions for a pick in the 50s or so. He's turning 30 next year and barely cracked a game this year. Lions desperately need kpp so will bring him in and give him games. He has been a good servant of the club so they will move him on cleanly with minimal fuss and not screw him around like previous elder players.
  16. Yep. Nearly landed him but just couldn't get the deal done. His value has gone up since then after having a really good season this year. Will cost a decent pick you'd think, 2nd round? Cash not as big an issue.
  17. Said the succession plan has been smooth process unlike a team across the road (dig at Malthouse to Buckley transition).
  18. He sounded good in his media work today. Very calm and talking about stability and hard work. Hopefully he continues to take us up the ladder.
  19. Surprised by the negativity here. If we pick up Hibberd as well, we are getting two experienced quality players in a good age bracket where we are lacking. Both are comfortably in our best 22. Melksham has decent pace, aggression and a decent kick too. Some of his kicks inside 50 or long running goals will be valuable to us. Hibberd brings a quality lock down defender who provides great rebound. He'd immediately become our best half back flanker, though Salem and Hunt both have the potential to surpass him. We should be excited we have 1, perhaps 2, quality experienced players coming in who can fill multiple roles and add a bit more aggression, pace and kicking skill to the side. Melksham can play half forward, midfield and half back, so he adds lends flexibility. Our currently gameplay with the half backs rushing forward to provide drive suits him perfectly. I wouldn't be surprised if Goodwin created the tactic knowing he'd have players like Melksham at his disposal. He won't be just depth, he will be a lock in the 22 for the foreseeable future. It's another good get by Jason Taylor. Let's hope Hibberd joins us too!
  20. Get around him. Onward and upward in 2017 Dees! Give me some finals action baby!
  21. How is Rance in any way courageous? Is he not the dog who punched a prone Jack Watts in the back of the head? He is one of the most cowardly players in the league!
  22. Yes! Cats win! Thank god! Hopefully that's the end of the Hawks. Great to see them finally lose a close one.
  23. It's [censored] isn't it. Mitchell is the king of 10-15 pointless chip kicks. Meanwhile Bartel slides through 3 blokes and handballs perfectly while on his back. He's a tough champion footballer Bartel.
