  1. I am sick of the love affair with Cyril. He is a good footballer but the media obsession is out of hand. On the news tonight they said we won and then proceeded to say how Cyril kicked 4 goals and showed Cyril's highlights! Why don't they show highlights of the match and how a team won! Pathetic. Anyway [censored] Cyril. And [censored] the Hawks. Go Dees!!!!
  2. He's definitely improving but he's got a long way to go. He's a decent kick even though he shanked one badly today. He's pretty slow though and I wish he'd bring more intensity to contests. Hopefully that comes with more size and confidence.
  3. Ofcourse we need Hogan. He's got amazing potential and is already performing well. The interesting thing is how we won without him today and last year. Not having him inside 50 meant our players couldn't bomb it long to him and had to lower their eyes and hit a leading target instead. It made us a lot more unpredictable and gave us more opportunity. When he returns we need to keep that mentality going and not just bomb it to him as it hasn't worked well this year. Hogan also needs to get on his bike and lead more instead of just calling for it and winding up double-teamed. He does it well when he's up the ground but for some reason inside 50 he just hasn't learnt to lead properly yet. If he does that and learns to kick set shits from over 40 meters he will be unstoppable and so will the whole team!
  4. With more fitness and more muscle on his frame he is going to be a ripper. He really goes for the ball in the air and brings his team mates into the game at ground level. He's got a solid kicking action too. Talk about a memorable debut!
  5. This was our best win in 10 years. Knocking off the top of the ladder defending premiers without our leading goal kicker is huge! I feel the win against Geelong last year is being overrated by people on here. Yes it was good to beat Geelong in Geelong, but they finished 10th so it's not like we beat a really good team like we did today.
  6. He's also a sniper. It baffles me how he gets suspended multiple times for acts of thuggery belting guys in the face or trying to crunch their head into a goal post, how he gets done drink driving, yet gets talked about as such a good bloke. He's a dirty sniper. Anyway [censored] him. And [censored] the Hawks. We smashed them. GO DEES!!!!!!
  7. He's my favourite player already. His second quarter was huge. It was great to see him kicking more day too. He's a really good kick and if he can add more balance with handball to kick ratio he will be seriously good. Loved him smashing into the Hawks players and tackling like a maniac.
  8. Today was one of our best wins this millennium. It was so exciting to finally see Viney, Bradshaw, Petracca and Oliver play together and boy did they produce the goods! Gawn was incredible, Weiderman will be good with more size, Watts was genius, all our players dug in and did what was needed. If we could bring that intensity every week then we're finals bound. Go Dees!
  9. Was enough force to rock Watts' head back and he might get a week for it hopefully. He's been dishing out cheap shots his whole career and is one of the most cowardly gutless cheats to play the game in my lifetime. Nut punch to Daniel Kerr, repeated corkies against players who he knew who just couldn't beat fairly. Sam Mitchell is undeniably a sh*t bloke.
  10. Hope we bring the intensity and take this game out. Sick of losing to those dirty cheating snipers Mitchell, Lewis and Hidge. They're all appalling people and deserve none of the success they've achieved. Take them out Dees!
  11. I'd like to know what was said in the interview. It would've been refreshing to hear someone describing what happened behind closed doors without the [censored] PR spin. EDIT: Thanks for that SaberFang. Interesting listening.
  12. From AFL site: Saturday, August 6 Melbourne v Hawthorn at the MCG, 2.10pm AEST LATE CHANGES Melbourne: Jesse Hogan (knee) replaced in selected side by Cameron Pedersen Hawthorn: James Frawley (jarred shoulder) replaced in selected side by Kurt Heatherley FINAL INTERCHANGES Melbourne: Angus Brayshaw, Clayton Oliver, Billy Stretch, James Harmes Hawthorn: Taylor Duryea, Brendan Whitecross, Jono O'Rourke, Tim O'Brien
  13. Hogan out hurts, although I guess we weren't expecting him to play. We need avenues to goal. Good luck to Weid today. From what I saw early in the year at Casey he has the tools to be a good key forward for us once he adds more muscle and size to compete.
  14. We need TMac to sign from a list perspective. One of our weaknesses is ready made quality key defenders, We're currently playing both Frost and OMac, who are both young and still finding their way. Mac is the only one on the list who is a sure thing. I don't rate TMac that highly, I think his decision making is poor, his skills are average, but he can usually hold his own to defend one on one if required. That said we still need to re-sign him from a list perspective and find another quality key defender. Losing him sets us back a step when we need to keep moving forward. We have improved this year, but so have other clubs and we need to keep up with them or we'll never crack into the 8.
  15. Is it time the mods open the trade board again?
  16. Just needs to get fitter. His kicking is actually brilliant, top ranked kick in his draft in the testing. At the moment he gets no ball on the outside as I he isn't fit enough. He smashes in with the stoppage and then can't spread to follow up. With added fitness he will be a weapon and IMO could become our best player.
  17. Hoping we see Oliver back in this year. He's one of your best talents and since the club is going down the path of pumping games into kids regardless of form then he should be at the top of the list. Petracca, Oliver, Brayshaw, Viney. That's our midfield core for the next decade right there.
  18. ANB out after one game again to make way for an unfit Vandenburg who is in rubbish form this year. Yet another poor decision by the selection panel. They have been woeful this season.
  19. Insane that some players get suspended for accidental contact that happens as part of the sport, but others can get off from BITING their opponent and pleading guilty to doing it too. Insane. Olivers reaction was pretty tame considering. I'd have ripped his teeth out one by one with pliers to ensure he never bit anyone ever again.
  20. To quote Sam Newman "If Melbourne don't win this they've wasted their season". I agree with him. We're playing on our home ground against a teaming missing it's top 5-6 midfielders. If we can't win this freebie we may as well give up. Hopefully the players learnt from the Essendon embarrassment and we win this by 60+ Get it done Dees!
  21. Wouldn't bother with him. We need key defenders or quality midfielders. We already have some key forwards developing, and he's rubbish when he gets sent into the ruck. At 26 years old he's not worth it unless he is super cheap.
  22. Think this will be a 40-50 point loss with Roos saying "the team just seems tired. It's a long season and it's a young group" etc afterwards.
  23. Loads fine on iPhone. I'd suggest you try clearing the cache of the browser.
  24. [censored] pathetic effort. You'd think they could just flood and kill the ball for a minute. That's just stupid and lazy football.
  25. I'll be heading to the match and we better f*cking win. I'm sick of visiting that rubbish stadium to watch losses to average teams. Get it done Dees!
