  1. Would like to see minimal changes this week. We've been making a lot of changes every week this year, some forced and some unforced, I think the team needs to settle for a bit. Hogan in if he is ready, otherwise not much need for change. Perhaps just JKH out for Stretch. Even then we could make no changes IMO Hogan probably needs another week off?
  2. I threw $20 on him at that price too. He won't win, but I'll be cashing out once his odds tumble now that he's getting some media recognition. This kid is an absolute star. A teenager with 19 games under his belt and he's already one of the best inside mids in the league!
  3. Would be perfect as the second tall forward for Hogan and second ruck to give Max a breather. He's the kind of player we are looking for structurally. It would mean Weiderman can develop at the right pace instead of being throw in and not having an impact when getting a game. He can build strength and gain confidence in the VFL without pressure to come in and be number 1 tall target when he is still a teenager. Reid could also swing down to key defense if needed due to injury. As a free agent he costs us no draft pick so at worst he is good depth. Good target for us IMO
  4. Yeah definitely can't be correct. There are very few players that short, let alone be the average height.
  5. After a poor start to the year he played his best game of 2017 yesterday. His intensity was better, his pace appeared to have returned through the middle of the match as well. Importantly when the game was in the balance he stood up as a leader, won some hard ball to setup a goal, followed by a few clearances after that. If he can do that consistently again like last year, it'll be a big bonus for us. We need him playing with intensity and standing up when games are there to be won.
  6. Finals on the line today. If we lose it will be hard to make it back given our fixture. We've been handed a dream run to start the year, not leaving Melbourne for over two months. We need to win today, and we need to absolutely belt the Hawks next week to make our percentage competitive.
  7. As long as we can maintain a structure up forward and down back we should win. We can't afford to have Watts in the ruck and then no forward targets in his absence. Likewise down back if Frost or Tmac rucks and it buggers up structure. As long as the coaches can plan for that then we win. Our midfield will destroy theirs around the ball. We're a better team that Essendon. If we lose this week I'll be disappointed. If we lose next week against the Hawks I'll give up. Next week should be a 70-80 point belting to give us a percentage boost we failed to get against Carlton.
  8. I'm having the same problem too. Was working ok in first quarter of Saints vs Hawks and now all 2017 video content, scores and live streams have disappeared! Joke!
  9. Dogs are dominating but not making the most of their opportunities. Momentum will change and the inaccurate 6-13 will cost them. Similar to watching us play the last 3 weeks actually. Difference is Dogs can probably bring this intensity for 4 quarters, not 2.5-3 and then fall away.
  10. True. He was running at 34% disposal efficiently late in the last quarter. Absolute nothing game he played and did not deserve any votes at all unless there was a turn over merchant award.
  11. Why doesn't Hogan lead anymore? He plays his best footy leading up the ground and doubling back. Tonight he stood there like a statue calling for it on his head. I can remember two instances where he had a paddock in front of him and instead of leading st the ball carrier he stood still and called for it on his head. He's so lazy sometimes! Coaches should've thrown him into the ruck in the last quarter and he would've had heaps left in the tank while Watts was out on his feet from busting his ass again. I wish Hogan had Watts work ethic and resilience.
  12. JKH was just a straight up mistake inclusion by he coaching staff. Didn't have good VFL form to earn his spot and has played an absolute stinker. Kent straight back in regardless of VFL form. At least provides run and has shots, better than being a ghost out there.
  13. "Hogan kicks his 6th as the Dees jump away to a 50 point lead. It's hard to split him and Oliver for the 3 Brownlow votes tonight!"
  14. If we lose to both Richmond and Essendon I'll be distraught. I cannot even fathom the club sinking that low again after all this time. Get the job done Dees. If you just put in the effort for 4 quarters each week you'll win 4-5 of the next 6 and be finals bound!
  15. Good to see you getting some research done on Tim Membrey PD Based on that the weather should be ok tonight, not storms. We need to turn it into a more contested game as Richmond are quicker than us on the outside and have based their game on the run and pressure of the mosquito fleet. Jetta and Hunt will be super important tonight to keep Rioli and Butler in check.
  16. Agree PD, I think he'll have a big game. We need him to fire with Kent out. Don't see who in Richmond's back 6 could go with Trac, so hopefully he fires up! Dees by 21 points.
  17. Thanks for the run info. Good to hear it's not serious and hopefully he has a long successful career with the Dees. He's a talent and it'd be great for him to have a good run at making the most of his career and being healthy.
  18. Accept finals are unlikely for 2017 and be disappointed that we haven't improved. Luckily we will beat Richmond and finals will still be on the cards!
  19. I hope he's ok and has a long successful career with the Dees. If the medical staff recommended he needs time off to reduce further risk then that's what happens. Helmets won't help prevent further concussion and I'm not sure it's the way he plays either. It's hard to nail down why it keeps happening but I hope he's ok.
  20. It's just a rougher league due to less skill and less video evidence to get into trouble with. Last year I recall Clarry losing his [censored] as someone bit his fingers when he was trying to grab a ball off the ground in a pack. Seems to be a common theme for older guys to illegally rough up younger kids who are clearly better than them.
  21. Didn't think he or Kent should've been dropped. Bugg always plays a role and is consistent. Not surprised he destroyed it in the VFL. He's too good to play there. Think both those guys offer more than JKH, who seriously lacks pace, ball winning skills and goal scoring skill. Don't understand them rushing him in after one average VFL game. I tipped us to win during the week but after the strange team selections with us ditching speed I reckon the Tigers will torch us. Hopefully I'm wrong because I really wanna beat those pretenders!
  22. Richmond are a small fast team all about speed in their forward half and pressure around the ground. Kent out is a poor decision by the coaches as he is one of the few who has potential to help us handle their game style. His replacement in JKH offers less. JKH is one of the slowest indigenous players I've ever seen. On top of his lack of speed he doesn't win much ball, doesn't hit the scoreboard much, doesn't lay a lot of tackles and isn't very damaging with ball in hand. He's a list clogger IMO and his inclusion in place of Kent is a poor one. The other swaps are all fine to me, Bugg a little unlucky to be dropped as he is consistent and played well against Tigers last year.
  23. Bulldogs deserved to win as they had far more shots and dominated with the ball in their forward half, but jeez they get a good run with the umps! Multiple poor umpiring decisions gone their way in the last quarter when they needed it.
  24. Not being able to put Carlton to the sword might effect us later this year in the run to finals. We need a percentage boost and should've beat up on them. They're a poor team going nowhere fast. Port are decent but will finish middle of the ladder again as I don't think they will sustain their intensity all season.
  25. It's to do with sponsorships and brand image for the AFL and clubs. Him letting his mate have a bet on a greyhounds race is non-issue and that's why the club has treated it as such and said there will be no punishment. Storm in a tea-cup and we move on. Hopefully he has a good game against the Tigers and works with in tandem with Hibberd!
