  1. Hoping both Jack Henderson and Jai Culley get a chance to play against Fremantle in this practice match.
  2. Anyone know what Jai Culley's nickname is? 🤔 Cuz? Cullsy? Cullo? Cuzza? Jesus? JC?
  3. With Jai Culley now joining the Melbourne Demons AFL side as an SSP it will be interesting if the Casey Demons VFL side decides to top-up with another former AFL player. Personally, I would like to give Charlie Clarke (who got delisted from the Bulldogs) another chance. But it depends if there are any available spots on the Casey Demons list and what their needs are I guess?
  4. A great video. I like the fact that Harvey "The Bison" Langford enjoys training and improving his skills with his mates. He speaks well too. I wish him all the best this year at the Demons and hope he earns a chance for a senior AFL debut when the coaches think he is ready. Exciting times for the Demons! 👹🔴🔵
  5. An excellent long kick for goal by Jai Culley. Hopefully he focuses on improving his pace. Here's your chance Jai! Good luck and all the best at the Melbourne Football Club! ❤️💙 Looking forward to the Demon's media department doing a brief 5 minute interview with Jai over the next day or so.
  6. Will White a small forward gets his chance at the Blues while Jagga Smith is recovering from his ACL injury. https://www.afl.com.au/news/1271641/where-theres-a-will-carlton-blues-sign-small-forward-will-white
  7. Funnily enough today is Jai Culley's Birthday on the 24th of February. 🎂 That's a pretty amazing Birthday gift to be put onto an AFL list (albeit due to unfortunate circumstances). I wish Jai Culley all the best at the Demons! 👹🔴🔵
  8. Correct. Luker Kentfield is jumper number #44. Jai Culley will probably take number #46 or perhaps number #49 which he wore at the Eagles.

Some positive news if this is confirmed that the AFL has decided to extend the SSP period. It will be interesting for the following reasons. 1) What type of impact will Jai Culley have at the Demons? 2) Who will the Casey Demons take as a replacement now that Jai Culley will be on an AFL list? 3) Who will Carlton take as a replacement for Jagga Smith?

As the saying goes "the squeaky wheel gets the grease". If both Carlton and Melbourne complain about their circumstances regarding the SSP period then the AFL might be magnanimous and extend it for another week or two. I think it's fair to do this. While I understand it may stuff up teams in the second tier competitions (VFL, SANFL, WAFL etc) there are always young blokes out there who would love a chance to play footy at a higher level. Let's hope the AFL sees sense to make a change.

Agreed. Not sure on the exact amount. But at least 5 or 6 extra list spots for each AFL team should be enough to cover a dearth of players that succumb to injuries? Bring back each VFL side having a reserves side too. The AFL with it's enormous profits should be putting more money into the secondary competitions like the VFL as well as grassroots football regardless.
  12. An excellent article pumping of Jack Henderson. Love it! ❤️💙 Looking forward to seeing "Hendo" get a run against Fremantle this coming weekend.
  13. Having this happen less than 24 hours after the SSP period has closed is incredibly frustrating. My heart goes out to Andy Moniz-Wakefield. ❤️ Hopefully the Demons can apply for an exemption from the AFL to top up our list. It may not be successful, but we may as well at least try.

Devastating news for Andy Moniz-Wakefield. I feel sorry for him. 😢 I wish him all the best and a speedy recovery. Marty Hore has a broken hand too! We really are having rotten luck with injuries. It definitely pushes a strong case to increase AFL playing lists.
  15. Rotten luck for Jagga Smith. My heart goes out to him. I have injured my ACL in my knee playing footy in the past and know how tough it is to recover. I was definitely keen on the Demons to draft him, but the Blues had the earlier pick in the draft and snapped him up. I wish him all the best with his recuperation. ❤️ Fingers crossed for our own Andy Moniz-Wakefield and his injury diagnosis. 🤞🏻
  16. Happy to claim that Harvey Langford doesn't mind "The Bison" or just "Bison" as a nickname. Whether it catches on we shall see? Apparently online it says Kade Chandler's nickname is "Google"?! I have never heard of him being called that before?! It's always been "Chin". With Jack Henderson coming on board to the Demons, I guess the logical nicknames are "Hendo" or "Henders". Otherwise, something unique like "The Hamster" or "The Ferret" perhaps? Because he is small and quick. However, he may have a better nickname from his Werribee teammates.
  17. Hahahahaha! That's brilliant! 😁 "The Bison" is now official for Harvey Langford. Thank you for that! Never given an AFL player their own nickname before. I used to love "The Ox" David Schwarz though! I actually can't remember who gave him that nickname (maybe Garry Lyon?) but I do remember he apparently had a number plate on his car that said "The Ox" back in the late 1990s or early 2000s. Now we just gotta get BT and Bruce McAvaney to start calling Harvey Langford "The Bison" when they commentate on TV.

Agreed. It's worth at least asking. The worst they can say is you gotta wait to the Mid-season Draft. Plus it would be good to get first dibs on Jai Culley or Roy George.
  19. Don't tell me Harvey Langford or his teammates like the nickname "The Bison" or just "Bison"? I actually suggested "The Bull" or "The Bison" as a nickname in another post a few days ago. Mainly because he seems strongly built and very determined. Unfortunately, my nickname suggestions aren't as creative as Rex Hunt. But happy for "Bison" to catch on. 😎👍🏻
  20. Was a good "blowing off of the cobwebs" in this practice match for the Demons against the Kangaroos. A few impressive things I noted from the highlights video I saw. However, it's hard to tell too much from a mere 5 minute video. Disappointing news about Andy Moniz-Wakefield and his knee injury. We have had rotten luck with injuries this past fortnight. Especially after losing Shane McAdam last week too. I feel heartbroken for both of them. 😢💔 I was going to suggest the Demons possibly asking the AFL for special consideration to have an extra SSP and get Jai Culley perhaps? But I doubt the AFL would give us any concessions as we are not a "big 4 club" like Collingwood. 🙄
  21. Very pleased that the Demons media department did a brief interview with Jack Henderson so promptly. Excellent work by them! 😎👍🏻
  22. Hoping the Demons media department do a 5 minute interview with Jack Henderson. Would be great to see! 😎👍🏻
  23. I agree that jumper number #43 would be perfect for Jack Henderson. Could even get Guy Rigoni (a former wearer of number #43) back down to the Melbourne Football Club to present Jack his jumper in his first AFL game!
  24. Some pretty glowing reviews from both Jason Taylor and Tim Lamb in the video shown. I think the Demons are pretty chuffed to have gotten him as a SSP, albeit due to unfortunate circumstances. I wish Shane McAdam a speedy recovery. Nevertheless, what is most impressive from Jack Henderson's highlights video is how clean he is with the ball and the fact that he can kick goals from outside 50 metres (which should almost be a prerequisite for all modern AFL players). I wish Jack Henderson all the best at the Demons!
