Welcome to Demonland: Xavier Lindsay

- 2025 Player Numbers
Number #10 will probably go to Harvey Langford.- 2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
I think great minds think alike when it comes to Xavier Lindsay. 😉 I am incredibly pleased that Jason Taylor and the rest of the Melbourne Demons recruiting team recognized that we desperately needed more elite kicks in our team. Having players that can hit our forwards "lace out" on the chest with kicks will definitely help us kick winning scores!- Welcome to Demonland: Harvey Langford
He's a big lad this Harvey Langford! Jason Taylor gave him high praise during his interview on the AFL Live stream. Apparently he is incredibly competitive which is excellent to hear! I am excited to see what he can do for the Demons. At 191cms he is definitely another midfield bull who can learn off the likes of Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver. The ball is now in Harvey Langford's court to train hard and see if he can make it at AFL level.- Welcome to Demonland: Xavier Lindsay
Glad the Demons picked Xavier Lindsay who is an excellent kick and will provide "X-factor" to our team. We have been desperate to rectify the issue of forward-line connection for a few seasons now and hopefully Xavier's poise and skill with kicking will help the Demons. An educated choice with taking the best talent available as well as the covering of a vital need for us. In Jason Taylor we trust!- Decline in the number of Indigenous players in the AFL
It's up to the AFL to support grassroots funding in country areas. They get billions of dollars in TV rights. The Melbourne Football Club (and MCC) has done a lot in Central Australia with setting up a wonderful grassed MCG sized football oval. Hopefully, more of these types of initiatives can be done in the future.- PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 20th November 2024
How's Clarry? Is he looking fit? Looking happy? Great to see Clarry back, fit and firing! Tell Clarry we all love him and hope he remains a Demon forever! 👹❤️💙- The Power of Social Media in the AFL
As harsh as it sounds....it isn't nearly enough. Look to emulate what other AFL Clubs are doing as well as making more of our own unique and funny content. Perhaps try to get a bloke like Caden MacDonald who has over 90,000 subscribers on YouTube more involved with our Social Media. He is a very passionate Demons supporter. There are others too, like Broden Kelly, the blokes from the Deebrief Podcast, Titus O'Reily and Hamish Blake who all have varying levels of influence online and in the media. Anyway, that's just a few suggestions.- Welcome to Demonland: Xavier Lindsay
- The Power of Social Media in the AFL
In my view, Melbourne's presence on Social Media has been very limited. Even North Melbourne has more content than us on Social Media, which is embarrassing! Tik-Tok, SnapChat, X/Twitter, Facebook, YouTube etc all need to be utilised much more to advertise the Melbourne Demons to possible new supporters. The more content the better!- The Bo Allan Thread
Would rather the Demons take Victorian players. I am still a bit scarred after losing Luke Jackson to Fremantle.- The Kalani White Thread
Jason Taylor was asked about Kalani White yesterday in his interview on "Gettables". He said Kalani will be part of the Australian Squad and that he is developing well.- Welcome to Demonland: Xavier Lindsay
- Welcome to Demonland: Harvey Langford
- 2024 Phantom Drafts
An impressive effort by Cal Twomey. He definitely does his research. I would say he is normally about 80% to 90% correct with his choices. Would be very happy with Harvey Langford. Not so much with Bo Allan from WA, as I would much prefer the Demons take Xavier Lindsay from Victoria. We desperately need players who are excellent kicks and elite decision makers.- Jason Taylor AFL Gettable 18.11.2024
Jason Taylor said a lot without giving much away. Said the Demons are going "best talent available" as is expected. I did note that he is meeting with Simon Goodwin, the other coaching staff and Tim Lamb later today. They will probably go through their final rankings for players and who they believe are the "most" talented in this year's AFL National Draft. I expect it will simply be a case of who falls the Demon's way for both pick #5 and pick 9#.- 2024 Phantom Drafts
This guy on YouTube has us taking the following... First pick: Jagga Smith Second pick: Alix Tauru Here is the video for those interested:- 2024 Phantom Drafts
The bloke who was choosing for us must not have even been a Melbourne supporter or understood our list needs. Nevertheless, it would be fun to "get on the beers" with mates and do a mock Draft. 🤣 Luckily, Jason Taylor gets paid to do player analysis and has probably done a few mock Drafts leading up to next week already.- Welcome to Demonland: Pick 9
Tempted by this option if Shane McAdam decides to quit because he doesn't want to do another AFL Pre-Season.- List Analysis
A harsh but fair analysis. Would of been nice to get the year right though. The Demons will be under pressure to perform in season 2025.- 2024 Phantom Drafts
For anyone interested, here is a Full Mock Draft for 2024 done by "PommyinOz" and a few other blokes. Looks like they had a bit of fun doing this actually! Here is the link to it: The guy representing the Demons chose Alix Tauru at pick #5 and Harry Armstrong at pick #9. Not sure why he chose both talls? But everyone is going to have their own unique opinions on who the Demons might choose in the Draft.- Draft night - How it may work out?
