There will probably be 90,000 at the MCG for this finals match between Melbourne and Collingwood. At least that's my prediction. 🤔

Been traumatised by horrible Collingwood supporters in the past. They still give me nightmares! 😱

What terrible news! 😞 I am truly devastated to hear this.😭😥😫 What rotten luck for both Jake Melksham and Luke Dunstan. I hope the Melbourne Football Club does what it can to support them both. I would definitely consider offering Jake Melksham a coaching role at the Demons, if he wants it. To think that only last Wednesday he was interviewed on the @Demonland podcast. It makes me feel sick in the stomach that Jake Melksham has this misfortune. It proves how short an AFL career can be due to all kinds of unforeseen circumstances and you need to make the most of it. Hopefully, this tragic news inspires the rest of the Melbourne Demons team to great things in this 2023 AFL finals campaign. WIN THE PREMIERSHIP FOR MELKY!!! 🔴🔵👹

There will really be some selection headaches this week. Will the Demons go tall and play Brodie Grundy and Tom McDonald? Anyway, I guess we shall wait and see what the match committee decides.

I really hate "the filth" also known as Collingwood!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬 But they are a formidable opponent. Stopping their elite midfielders and their two ruckmen in Darcy Cameron and Mason Cox will be a huge challenge. Will also be very interesting if both Nick Daicos and Darcy Moore are fit enough to play against us? 🤔

I don't know how we afford him? Personally, I would prefer a tall forward who can also ruck.

I am waiting to hear the news. Fingers crossed Jake Melksham will be ok? 🤞 Sadly, I think an ACL injury would end his career. I remember when I did my ACL in my right knee playing football. I was jumping up in a marking contest and landed awkwardly and I heard a kind of "popping" noise. That was my ACL tearing apart. 😕 Anyway, I genuinely wish Jake Melksham all the best. He has been an excellent player for us. Especially in the 2nd half of the year when Bayley Fritsch was out injured and we needed someone to step up in our forward line.

Here are my 5 questions for this week's Demonland podcast. 1) How did you rate Daniel "Disco" Turner's game against the Swans? I thought he did some nice things and is pretty composed with the ball. 2) If the sad news is confirmed and Jake Melksham is injured with an ACL, who replaces him? Tom McDonald who kicked 5 goals for Casey in the VFL? Or should Brodie Grundy ,who kicked 3 goals and had 35 disposals in the VFL too, get another chance against his former side the Magpies? 3) How about some love for Bayley "Fritta" Fritsch?! How amazing is he? To come back after injury and kick 5 goals against the Swans was fantastic. "Fritta" really is a star! Let's hope the injury scare to his foot is nothing as well. 4) I thought Christian Petracca really made a huge impact in the 2nd half when the game needed to be won. Do you think he will get some Brownlow votes? Is he still a sneaky chance to win the 2023 Brownlow Medal? 5) What are the views about Bailey Laurie against the Swans? He came on as the "super sub" and did a couple of handy things. Including an excellent kick into the forward line. Does Bailey Laurie earn a chance to play in the finals?

Absolutely devastating if confirmed that both Jake Melksham and Luke Dunstan have done their ACLs. Particularly disappointing for Jake Melksham after having such a wonderful 2nd half of the year. Fingers crossed it isn't that serious. But it looks grim. 😔

Glad we won! Winning form is the best form. Was an extremely tough and hard fought win in front of a hostile crowd at the SCG. Was extremely worried about Jake Melksham (and Bayley Fritsch) regarding their injuries. Hopefully they are both ok? Jack Viney, Christian Petracca and Bayley Fritsch all played brilliantly! Certainly a great game to play leading into the finals. It will have us toughened up and ready for the Magpies. In some good news, apparently Brodie Grundy kicked 3 goals (and had 33 disposals) and Tom McDonald kicked 5 goals at VFL level. So some "good" selection headaches.

Hope we play well and are "in form" against the Swans. Winning is preferred. As it helps build momentum for us. Don't care where we play in the finals. You gotta beat the best to be the best. Although, obviously at the MCG against the Magpies is preferred. No injuries is important. As we need to be fit and healthy for finals football. Lastly, I hope Christian Petracca plays extremely well and gets the 3 votes in our match today. That helps him to be a sneaky chance to win the 2023 Brownlow Medal! Fingers crossed!🤞

With North Melbourne winning...against a soft as butter Gold Coast....we may still be a "slight chance" to get Harley Reid after all? 🤔

I am not against giving Daniel "Disco" Turner a chance against the Swans. My only two concerns are: 1) Adam Tomlinson would be better suited against the "bigger" types of Joel Amartey and Hayden McLean. 2) Wouldn't it be better to have a settled defence leading into the finals?

I think Horrible Hawthorn are a good chance of beating Feckless Fremantle at the MCG. Especially with Jai Newcombe back in for the Hawks. Nevertheless, we shall wait and see what happens I guess? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Christian Petracca still a "sneaky chance" to win the Brownlow Medal this year apparently? Especially if he has a Best-On-Ground performance against the Swans. However, I will admit that a 2023 AFL Premiership Medallion and another Norm Smith Medal would be alot better!

I wish Adem Yze all the best with this opportunity at the Tigers. My only request would be that any senior AFL coaching role he takes on isn't until the Demons finals compaign is concluded.

Don't forget Stuart Spencer too from the 1950s! Another redhead. One of the greatest Demons players ever. Just a shame he moved to Tasmania in his prime!
