Water Under the Bridge - Luke Ball
Rod Grinter Riot Squad replied to Weedster's topic in Melbourne Demons
If Ball came to us he would still be suffering from O P. We wanted him, we just couldn't convince him to choose us as if he did we could have got him in the PSD. He went in the national draft and in the mid 30s ash everyone believed his body was shot. -
Tipping Dogs. A mates son worked there, left early in year as couldn't stand the new coach

The type of club you want to support ?
Rod Grinter Riot Squad replied to Hannibal's topic in Melbourne Demons
Anything for a flag.... As for the current situation, both the footy dept and the board have made the right noises, but forgive me for being very sceptical. Seen and hear it all before. The only thing that's given me one iota of confidence that we may be heading in the right direction is the way Neeld looks like he'll be clearing out a lot of the deadwood. As for the board, can't say I've seen squat. -
I would love to be there and apologies I can't, but am about to board a plane for 6 weeks out of the country K.D

Chris Judd's chicken winging of Leigh Adams
Rod Grinter Riot Squad replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
He has a history of gutless sniper acts. How he won his second brownlow beggars belief, insufficient force!!! A protected species. The pressure points incident was not only gutless but openly admitted and clearly intentional, this act is no different. He has intentionally set out to hurt a helpless opponent. It's a shame such a great footballer also happens to be a cheap, gutless sniper. -

Throw Monopoly Money at $cully on Sunday
Rod Grinter Riot Squad replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
Give the sod hell. Don't mind your idea RR, but my preference would be quite a few banners around the ground with the justified tongue lashing for the little dog. Love the "like father, like $cum" Would make it if I could go and hope like hell someone does. -
RRE - first and only person on my ignore list!

He was a great pick, though his kicking for goal from set shots is substandard. Like another high flying Tassie who had a very good career with us, Howe needs to work his butt of on his kicking for goal or he won't reach his potential

Melbourne gets better of Tom Scully trade

It's an 18 team competition -
It's not like this year has been very different as every other year Col has played. Hell, even Beamer called him out after he won the B and F. Col has never given us his best, I've never seen him gut run, always jogging off the ball, and rarely seen solid second and third efforts from him. BTW the excuse for his average first 5 years of his career was OP, his jaw was broken off the ball, as was his nose....
-
Agreed. Always enjoyed both sites, though post more on 'ology. This year I check here less as just want one board for footy during season.
-
Col is not inconsistent. He is consistently average.

Hardly saw much of the game, but was livid with Moloney over a bit I saw in the second quarter. Think that Irish pastie Clarke had the ball and Moloney had him lined up and went to tackle. Clarke brushed off Beamer like he was an under 16 player. Classic case of looking like Tarzan playing like Cale...

Not going does nothing, though I feel your pain. I'd love it if all Melbourne supporters turned their backs on the players before the game, half time and at the quarter breaks and if the few supporters remaining at the final siren could do it after the game a pretty strong point would be made. Would only work if all did it, but...

Jamar? 1 year wonder.

Sylvia is and always has been a wasted talent. He has always been a lazy, selfish and uncommitted player. I've called for him to be traded over the last 2 years regularly on 'Ology and been ridiculed for it. The club also thought me to be wrong obvioulsy and now we are left with someone who looks like he will be worthless at the trade table the way he is going.

Thanks for the post Cam. I'm interested though, why did you almost lose your job last year and what changes have you made in your managerial style since then (if any)? -
Not sure about this. It may be too popular and we'd then need a new forum for it

I was initially disappointed for Beamer, but does he deserve to be in the leadership group? On reflecting on the fact he put his hand up to play that game (186), is a much greater sin that going out being a [censored] while drunk IMO. A leader puts the team first, Brent put himself first in Geelong, something that tells me he is not the leader I had thought he was. Back on topic, I'm thrilled with this leadership group and gives me more confidence towards our coaching brains trust than anything over the last decade

Top player over the course of his career and i'd be happy to see him play again next year. I'd be disgusted if he plays next year as captain. He's been a failure as a captain, must either stand down or be removed post season and concentrate an his own game which has been very poor this year
