  1. lepper played some pretty good footy in the forward line too, could easily be a forward coach
  2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the club require any out of contract players to sign a waiver to play with Casey in the finals? Because if an out of contract player suffered a significant injury, like an ACL, playing for Casey, they would be required to be kept on the list next season... Ie. the club couldn't delist them? I remember hearing something along these lines a couple of years ago, with the likes of Guy Rigoni I think it was, signing a waiver to play with Sandy in the finals serires... This might have been significant for the likes of Cheney amongst a couple of others, who didn't want to jepordise their entire career... Having said that, they wouldn't have made much difference from the looks of things...
  3. Are you kidding you wouldn't go for pick 1? We're dropping one selection in the draft and getting Vickery! There's no way Richmond would go for it... If they did we'd take Trengove if the Tigers went for Butcher, or Morabito if the Tigers took Trengove... But there's no way Richmond would do it...
  4. the other thing is, I'm not sure how much any of the other eligible players would bring to Casey, with McKenzie perhaps the only one who would make a difference (cheney if he's eligible)... Tmac didn't set the world on fire for casey... these players aren't going to make that much of a difference, to the side, and the casey team have aquitted themselves very well whilst being short on Melbourne players... during our time with Sandringham, where Sandringham won a number of flags, the MFC played a big role in those campaigns... the last 2 seasons when our injuries hit, Sandringham's performance dropped away... as the Demons improve, and our injuries become managable, we will be able to contribute more to Casey's success...
  5. Delist / Retire Robertson Whelan Wheatley Bell Bartram Trades Warnock and Pick 18 -> Hawthorn Pick 9 -> Melbourne Miller and Pick 34 -> Sydney Pick 22 -> Melbourne Rookie Promotion Valenti Drafting Pick 1 - Scully Pick 2 - Butcher/Trengove Pick 9 - Best Mid/Best Tall Pick 22 - Best available? Jetta perhaps? Hard to say. Pick 50 - Speculative PSD 1 - Likely to be recycled player this year I think Little concerning losing 2 of the biggest bodies on the list in Miller and Warnock, but these are 2 realistic trades I could see happening...
  6. I agree it is disappointing... However, given the year Melbourne has had, we've had a lot of players play in both the VFL and AFL, how many players are eligible to play for Casey, and how many of those aren't injured? According to searching on google, to qualify for VFL finals you have to have played at least 7 games for Casey, and less than 12 games for Melbourne, to qualify to play on Saturday... The Melbourne players who have played 7 or more games for Casey are... http://www.sportingpulse.com/team_info.cgi...586&a=STATS Danny Hughes Jordie McKenzie Shane Valenti Michael Newton Rohan Bail Kyle Cheney Trent Zomer Tom McNamara from my understanding Hughes and Bail are injured... Kyle Cheney has played exactly 12 games for Melbourne, not sure whether this qualifies him or not... this leaves the following 5 available... McKenzie Valenti Newton Zomer McNamara so effectively there are only 2 eligible players who aren't injured as far as we know, who aren't fronting for Casey on Saturday... Given their age, you're much better off going with the settled lineup IMO... It would also delay these players their pre-season next year, and being so young, they really can't afford that...
  7. Not exactly true, perhaps there are recruiters who want to keep him in the dark from the others... Even though most clubs would be aware of him you would think, bringing him to draft camp would parade him around in front of everyone...
  8. Yze_Magic was the king of sucking people in over at Bigfooty... He used his talent for posting words on message boards, to suck in opposition supporters time and again, before he got banned... This was probably the best example of his work, I mean the thread is 25 pages long... Genius, love it...

    Pick 9

For the right offer, almost anyone is tradeable... Including Jared Rivers... I'm in the group who also believes that we can afford to trade one of Warnock or Rivers, however would want to make sure that we get something decent in return. Pick 9 would qualify as something decent.
  10. But everyone keeps saying he's had plenty of opportunities
  11. something along similar lines... They don't know we're coming... But we are.
  12. I agree Davey probably isn't up to making the 22, would think he would qualify for the squad however...
  13. I think he'll change... What did he wear for Yeuendemu? Or perhaps he could do Wheels' 45 proud?
  14. It is a joke... He hasn't racked up as many posessions as those players listed in the midfield, but he has more kicks than all of them (Dayne Swan has more, but is listed as a forward for some unknown reason?)... Given how well he kicks, and how easy it is to rack up large handball stats these days, he should've been included...
  15. had a friend who saw some of the players out at CQ last weekend, after the carlton game... from what he told me the 1am curfew had gone out the window...
  16. you're off the mark there... yes, whilst the Gold Coast can take 12 seventeen year olds, outside of the draft... the remaining players are still no longer eligible for this draft, and won't be eligible until the 2010 draft... The age required to enter the draft was changed for this year, forcing the players to be 4 months older to be eligible than they were previously...
  17. Those are the odds you'd offer? I'd like to bet my life savings please... $100,000. $60,000 on Trengrove @ 3.20 = $192,000 $25,000 on Butcher @ $4.50 = $112,500 $15,000 on Morabito @ $7.00 = $105,000 Easy money
  18. Would be great to see him repeat his performance against Adelaide a few years back... One of the best individual games I've seen from someone wearing the red and blue...
  19. Hutchy must be reading Demonland, he showed footage of Daw running around in the TAC cup tonight on the Footy Show for some reason... Mainly due to his African roots I would think...
  20. everyone is seeming to make the call on Bartram making way with the number 3 pretty quickly... It was an off the cuff remark from Hutchy that he could get the number three given Gary Lyon was sitting opposite him. I doubt Hutchy even knows who Clint Bartram is, let alone what number he wears... Having said that, I think Clint will be borderline staying on the list come seasons end personally...
  21. reminds me of this... http://www.southparkstudios.com/clips/104243
  22. Jack Watts has a great left hoof
  23. It's a shame many of them are injured, but at the same time, with the club looking at beginning pre-season training in early October, it would be a massive workload for these guys to play in a finals campaign potentially to the last week in September, then have only approx. 6 weeks off before they're into their pre-season... I believe Dunn will play for Casey this week, and in the finals, as he was "rested" last game... Watts will be concentrating on school, will be interesting to see how LJ is holding up, and whether they want to put him through more football, or let him rest before pre-season...
