Thanks Kev, greatly appreciate you making the effort, and sharing. Hopefully the sense of care and being in it together that you saw this morning translates on the weekend.

Judd McVee Contract
We got him in the rookie draft. He has done ok, so would want to keep if possible. If we get a good pick for him, then it’s actually a win/upgrade. Either way we should do ok…

From anger to action: A call for constructive feedback to leadership
It would take communication to the board that there a significant number of active voters who would act accordingly to get our wishes…

Game Plans & Styles: Playing Catchup?
Great skills limit turnovers as we move the ball, and take advantage of those caused by our defence on their attacks. Currently we have few truly skilled players, as the grunt get and force forward creating a rolling mail of contests is now a thing of he past. Teams can cut through, and the best midfielders today can get the ball and distribute it with speed and skill. Our revival will come with more skill, and im not sure how many grunt and go players we can carry. This means the extended contracts to our current midfield went from looking like good business to foolish. The value of these players in trade will also incredibly diminish. It is up to them to evolve their games and deliver the new skills required for the game plan..

TRAINING: Monday 28th July 2025
With only a few weeks to go, it would be interesting to understand the teams perspective on what they want to achieve in this time. Do they want to regain some credibility by winning? Do they want to blood more young talent and see what they can do? Are they going to mothball some players and get them cherry ripe for next year? It is going to be interesting to see how this plays out - fitness is no longer a key element with only a few weeks to go and no finales series. Do they really just keep working on the new game plan??

PODCAST: Rd 20 vs St. Kilda
I feel your pain, shame and embarrassment. I hope you guys hang in there and the team can find a way to make a small mend in the very broken hearts of demon supporters. How we lost that - and to that smug prig Ross Lyon - is beyond the laws of physics. It was dumb and dumber football.

POSTGAME: Rd 20 vs St. Kilda
That was embarrassing. That last quarter was beyond unacceptable. Im sorry, there needs to be consequences, and no flipping ‘learnings’.

PODCAST: Rd 19 vs Carlton
At the ground, and i loved Frittas game. Really went hard, and executed the high half forward connection role with real accuracy. Kossie is special. Umpiring was disgusting. Not just bad… That run down tackle made my head explode! Why can’t we get it together and commit to play more than 10 minutes at a stretch? Why was our defence so poor, and yet we had a good back 6? Why can’t max get a free for holding in a marking contest - almost ever?? When are we going to see some of the new kids and when will those who haven’t put in as they should be invited to play for Casey?

PODCAST: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
If you drop Lever, That slugworth Morris will have him signed to another team by Saturday morning!

Stats File - 2025 edition
Interesting, thanks so much as always for posting. Player ratings confirm my belief that Trac went at 0%by foot in the first half. We also lost centre bounce scores to a second rate midfield. Jake lever rating is low, and he looks slow on the park since his return. Lots to improve from here if we want this new system to work in 2026

PODCAST: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
It was more of a VFL hit out than an AFL game. (At least it wasn’t an under 14s fixture like the tigers and the bombers!). Whilst it was great to see many of those who have struggled before look good, I wonder if this will be a ‘false dawn’ or will this give them confidence to take the next steps? Cases in point: Trac was going 0% by foot in the first half. Jeffo started to show some things Frittata picked up his game We were more polished than the seconds level midfield of the Roos, but what’s can we really take away from that ??

PREGAME: Rd 19 vs Carlton
A very different challenge: we could easily bring in May and Keep TMac. Going to need to replace sparrow (maybe Culley?) Kolt, Windsor and Lindsay under the pump. Billing’s could even put his hand up… Going to need to be stronger in the contest and may need 2 rucks to take on Pittonet and de Koenig. Should win, depends if we show up and dont dispose of it as poorly as we did today.

CASEY: Rd 16 vs Werribee
Henderson a warm body, did nothing in the first half. Spargo very good, as were Howes and Adams. Billings was good, and liked weeper (a mini ooze) although he would have to a f/s option that is better than pup?? Woey has more size than I thought he had, and could develop well down back as a middle sized player. Liked Kentfield crashing packs and thought Verrell was more than OK.

It’s over - if you’re CEO, what’s the fix?
CEO should come in and execute what the board wants - deliver on the strategic vision. The questions would be what is driving the board atm? Onfield review, off field review, home base? Lets see what they are set to do by the board, then we can know if they are a success…

PODCAST: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast
If this one sneaks in…. When did we bocome such a group of ‘downhill skiers?’ Where is the heart to really go at a contest, to take your turn and go hard? It shouldnt be Jack Viney to the middle or the qtr time spray before th boys get their heads over the pill. Biggest issue is somehow between our ears…

POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast
Unacceptable q1, average from there. Lost players early which impacted rotations, but we are just not good enough.

TRAINING: Sunday 22nd June 2025
ON GOAL KICKING… it is also harder to deliver a skill after repeat sprint efforts. That is what i would add to training- 3 100m sprints then a shot on goal. This would better replicate game situation, lactic acid accumulation, breathing changes etc than just a few kicks at training.
