You raise an interesting point, Mr T. How many weeks does he have to get before it is seen as a satisfactory outcome for society and the game? If it is less, it invites external interference including legal action. The Tribunal have to get this number right. It has to are into account that this was an 18 year old kid and the sever damage that was caused by the action. It also needs to set a precedent to stop it happening again. Also, Nisbett is caught on his own desire to be a media [censored].

So, given all of that, do we still want him?

VALE JARROD LYLE
A terrible situation. My thoughts are with them.

Goodwin Presser (28/6)
Questions that should have been asked at the presser: if there was a lack of defensive effort, why did you not change this up during the game? You know, the quarter and half time breaks might be good for that, right? what was your message to Petty after the match? Did you apologise for selecting him before he was ready? when did you decide to start your best forward on the wing, and push the other key forward so far from goal he needs a myki card? Did you learn anything when you put Hogan deep forward and he kicked 3 goals? if inside 50s are such a problem, why don’t you fix it?

New CEO - Gary Pert
Usual process- a board sub committee involving board members and external specialists define the role need, then identify candidates. They propose preferred candidate(s) to the board. Board as a whole decides. My assumption is a process like this was followed. the current CEO has no role in the process, unless he is invited onto the sub committee. There is so much p!ss and wind in Caro’s article. For a CEO to stay in the one job for 11 years is remarkable. Usual tenure is 3-5. Perhaps he has the ideal skill-set for the next phase of our organisation. All the rest is froth and bubbles. I assume appropriate due diligence was followed. After that, asking every toothless idiot and their dog for an opinion is a waste of time and effort. Good luck to Pert in his new role.

Welcome to Demonland Toby Bedford
In a way, a super academy player is a great way to trade back into the first round. Match a pick on our academy player with a series of lower picks to get a gun.

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
I think it is a super location. We are the MELBOURNE football club, after all. Lets be as close to MELBOURNE as we can be. We can still have outreach to Casey and the Cranbourne corridor, but lets own the brand MELBOURNE and live it. In reality, it is a very short walk from RIchmond station, a tram or train ride out from Flinders St, and on the Punt Road corridor for buses.

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
A short stroll up the hill to celebrate a flag. I like it

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
When we are winning, he looks good. He struggles to help us win. isolated 1:1 he is burned every time. He has to play the quarterback role, but when they man up and run off him, he is dreadfully exposed.

Brendan McCartney - Moved to the bench
Huge wraps in the Hun today. Scanned it over a coffee in the local cafe, and were talking up his development credentials. We are becom8ng a media darling... I’m not used to it!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - AUSTIN BRADTKE
His dad is about 11 hundred feet tall and played at 120 kgs. Imagine that physical presence, either forward or in the middle? Sheesh! That is not Brendan Fevola 120 kgs (stuffing hamburgers into his cheeks like a starving Hamster in a nut factory), but athletic size and genuine build. Keen to see how he develops in our system

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - AUSTIN BRADTKE
Elite sports people in tennis and basketball, including NBA. Many who move into business, admin and coaching. These networks can deliver incredible value, open doors, even deliver sponsorships etc. most football royalty has its boundaries around Melbourne. This one goes much bigger. It appears they are all Dees supporters, too!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - AUSTIN BRADTKE
So pleased we landed him! Absolute sporting royalty pedigree, and his fathers connections are worth a fortune to the club, too.

Demons on Masterchef (16/5/18)
To use a Masterchef idiom: they are the garnish and not the hero of the dish. They wander in, scoff some grub, and Jonesy says “tastes good, dunnit?” Rest of the show is about short pockets angry George, look away and I’ll eat you Matt and totally irrelevant Gary yelling at the poor bastards, and some cooking in between watching people rush around for no reason and recaps.

Kobe Farmer
I like what you did there....

Brendan McCartney - Moved to the bench
I thought he was development coach, not a line coach? Can probably do better work face to face with the players from the bench, rather than over the phone from upstairs. is there a story here? Don’t know. Need more than guesses or hearsay to know...

Angus Brayshaw
Perhaps he had to complete a game post his surgery to be eligible for selection? there is a lot of guesswork about his non-selection. Maybe someone should ask the question. I’m sure brayshaw knows why. He has shown what he is capable of, and will get back there. He gets paid as an AFL player even if he sits in the stands and watches. Who the hell would be despondent with that?

Angus Brayshaw
Listed in the Casey praccie match. Hope he kicks the door down andapplies red hot pressure on those in the squad.

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
Freo need an injection of talent... honestly, Hird should never be allowed any form of accreditation ever again, until he takes responsibility for what he did.

With $300 mio in class action lawsuits on the way , he is personally liable as a director. May face hefty fines and disqulification, or even jail.

Jack Trengove signed by Port Adelaide as a Delisted Free Agent
Great for Jack, can’t see the sense for Port. Is he back up for Rocky? Do they want him for leadership? we know he is a great bloke and a smart footballer, but he was off the pace of AFL in the games he played this year for Melb. I think he will dominate the SANFL, but will be found out if selected for Port. Ports strategy is difficult to understand, with their outs and ins. Have brought in 4 players with specific question marks- they must believe that Kochie’s Kool Aid fixes all. 2018 will be an interesting year for this team.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
In 12 months, we won’t be arguing over which picks, but whether he is one of the top players in the AFL. Very nice get, thank you very much.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Confucius say “Lever in hand, better than 2 fulcrum in bush” smart fella, that Confucius. Lever ready to go now, draft pick 2018 may be good 2020. behavioural economics here is clear. We have taken the lower risk payout early rather than higher risk payout later. With optimism bias, we may believe we could grab 2 superstars with those picks. Reality suggests our strike rate is lower than that. we also have a good recent record of lower picks delivering the goods. The deal is about lower risk, faster reward with a dose or reality thrown in. On this basis - and where we are at, it’s a good deal. We will know in the next couple of years if it is a great one.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
The destination of the Cows post season trip. I understand they wanted somewhere ‘warm’..... They were all excited...

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
He is getting a finger and an ankle. The finger because it has been stuck up his ahrse. Ankle because he has had his foot in his mouth. Back in time to sook about Sloane in the pre-season.
